When purchasing you will need to wait 6-8 weeks for your order to come in and pay 50% before you leave and the rest when you come back to pick up the item. Birks does not have a wide selection of some metals like rose gold, but they can make one if you request it.

The FCP Birks provide top notch services. The staff are very friendly and super knowledgeable in all their products. As a watch enthusiast and a person working in the building, I always have good conversations with the staff and they are enthusiastic with all the watch brands as well. The grand seiko, Tudor and Cartier novelties they show me always get me hooked with all the amazing timepieces. I also happen to get a Tudor BB58 that I always have interest in with great service and knowledge. Very pleasant shopping experience. Nicole, Garo and Melvin here are great.

The store has now moved across its old store location at the First Canadian Place (FCP), still on the same 2nd floor, but it's closer to the escalator, it's more modern, chic modern, brighter and you can see the store from all angles. In fact, I spotted this store more often now than in the past when I walked in the past, I may not spot the store front. And those old wooden decor are long gone. The new store, the staff are knowledgable, friendly, never pushy, makes the shopping experience very enjoyable.

Overall I had a fantastic experience purchasing from Birks. I had the pleasure of being serviced by Aleksandra Kimaeva at this location. She took extremely good care of me answering all my questions pertaining to jewelry and walking me through diamond size, quality, and cut. The staff were extremely accommodating to changes in a special order I had and had provided a complimentary signature sterling silver bell with the engagement ring I purchased. Aleksandra always kept me updated on the status of my order and stayed in touch for future appointments.

I was fortunate to pick up the new Tudor Chrono. I've been in touch with Garo for about a year. Each time I've saw or talked to him, he met me with the same enthusiasm and excitement. Aleks was a spectacular Sales Associate. I came in last Fall looking for an engagement ring - I had all of the ring specifications and she stayed right in my budget. We then went back to her to buy our wedding bands. Excellent experience, excellent service, beautiful pieces.

My fiancée and I shopped around for e ring in Dec. 2016 until we landed in this Birks store. Annie Tse is the one who gave us the best service out of all other stores. She gave us different bands with the diamond we chose to compare with. She explained us the clarity grading scale. In the end we picked a satisfying e ring both in style and quality. I came into Birks to try on engagement rings. The door was unlocked for me by an associate who allowed me to enter without saying a word. I then walked into the store up to an associate who was busy organizing boxes and jewelry. I stood uncomfortably waiting for some sort of acknowledgement. I was completely ignored. I understand she could have been busy but a simple, “so sorry! Be with you momentarily” would have been appreciated. The associate that let us in then helped me try on rings but was not helpful at all when I was looking for something of a higher carat. My family has had the pleasure of purchasing Birks engagement rings since the mid 1900s and I will be the first to break that. With so much variety this day in age I was disappointed at their snotty demeanour and I would expect more from Birks.

I ended up booking an appointment with Maison Birks since they carried a number of the watch brands that I was considering for my first watch purchase. I ended up booking a meeting with Garo to explore my options. Garo's knowledge around all of the watches that I had interest in and his ability to adapt to my specific buying behavior (not being too persistent/ pushy, knowing that I wanted to try on multiple options, etc) was very impressive and made for an excellent experience. I ended up purchasing a Tudo Black Bay 58 with two straps. I am looking forward to doing business with Garo and Maison Birks in the future. J

Then weeks later I came in again with my fiance for an engagement watch for myself, and Garo gave us his full attention for over 2hrs while picking out the perfect piece for me. The rating would be zero stars if that was possible. I preface this review by noting that mistakes occur all the time in business. It's what you do, or don't do, about those mistakes that matters more to a customer. Also this order is not about this particular store location but Birks' national customer service. I ordered an item by telephone from a Birks customer service representative. I checked my card statement and Birks charged me twice for the same item. I called Birks and asked them to cancel one charge. I was then informed that the order (both "orders") had been cancelled - but that Birks had forgotten to inform me of the cancellation. I asked if the charges to my card had been reversed and was told no, they were still pending and no effort had been made to cancel the payments by Birks. So I had 2 identical large dollar payments sitting on my card balance for an item that had been canceled (but the payment hadn't been canceled) without any notification to me. I asked for clarification. I was then put on hold for 30 minutes before another person from Birks credit services answered. That person then immediately tried to blame me for Birks' fiasco, stating that I'd entered the order information wrong on the Birks website - twice - causing a problem in Birks' order system. When I advised him that could not be right because it was the Birks' sales representative that entered the order information and that it wasn't a website/e-commerce order at all, he began screaming at me (in barely intelligible English) like a lunatic . Suffice to say, I purchased the same item from a different vendor and filed credit card disputes for the charges due to Birks' incompetence . Birks can count me as a permanent ex-customer after this experience. FOLLOW UP RESPONSE TO BIRKS: I CONTACTED CUSTOMER SERVICE AS YOU SUGGESTED. THEY WERE NOT HELPFUL. I ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE E-COMMERCE MANAGER AND WAS TOLD THAT "YUSUF" WAS AWAY FOR PERSONAL REASONS AND NOBODY KNEW WHEN HE'D BE BACK. I ASKED TO SPEAK WITH THE AUTHOR OF THE NONSENSICAL FORM REPLY TO MY REVIEW. NOBODY AT THE BIRKS CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER KNEW HER NAME OR HOW TO REACH HER. I AM STILL WAITING FOR A REFUND.

I had the opportunity of buying a Tudor watch from this location and the service was phenomenal! Garo was very helpful and knowledgeable about Tudor, Rolex, and other luxury brands. Not only did we receive amazing service we also learned a lot. Garo took time with us and answered all our questions, his passion for watches and jewellery made him great to talk to! The experience in this BIRKS store location is a phenomenal experience! As I am an ‘avid’ window shopper of luxury watches, I wanted to do as much research as possible before buying MY FIRST LUXURY/HIGH END WATCH. This is where the excellent customer service from the Birks team especially (Annie, Garo and Melvin) came into play. I work very close to this location and a part of my ‘research’ on my first watch encompassed regularly visiting this location to not only look on the products but asking questions about its specifications, pricing and best value for money etc. I joke not when I say that this process for me took quite some time (months) and throughout all of this the team and Annie especially was very pleasantly accommodating towards me and my questions(some via email) etc. It speaks volumes towards their EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE regarding their knowledge base and their accommodation towards customers such as myself (without even having any prior purchases etc). I can reflect thousands upon thousands of speckled lit dots on a wall from quite a distance and love blowing people's minds with it, especially mine. I appreciate all my purchases and gifts from this store and highly recommend it. My uncle, also a jeweller, started as a diamond setter for Birks. I still have one of those old rings. I’ve been to different Tudor/Rolex dealers, no-one was more friendly than Birks and Garo!
