Karen the Goldsmith is a wonderful person to work with. We popped in her store one day asking if she’d be able to rework a few items that had been passed down to me by my mother. Karen jumped at the possibility and immediately started sketching ideas. Karen took the time to get to know us and make recommendations that we never would of thought on our own. For example: 1. Melting down an old piece and using that gold to make a cuff with matching earrings. 2. Convincing me (the groom) to resize my mother’s old wedding band to fit my finger. This was deeply sentimental to me. 3. Custom designed a wedding band that fits with my mother’s sapphire ring. We recommend that anybody work with Karen.

I was OTOH's first customer. I went to Karen (who is just lovely) to get a ring custom made for a ten year anniversary gift. The result was a beautiful braided 14 karat gold band and my ladypartner couldn't have been happier. Now she says I'm the best boyfriend ever and I'll prob get a few more years out of her. Karen was extremely helpful getting me set up with a beautiful engagement ring. From diamond to design to construction the process was extremely easy and the service was excellent. The craftsmanship of the ring is outstanding, and would happily return for all my jewellery needs.

I gave Karen a pretty impossible task...design a piece of jewellery as special and unique as the women I married. Oh, and I really have no idea what I want or where to start... Karen was simply amazing...asked me a few questions about my wife and family, budget, likes/dislikes, and then went to work on a design for a wonderful necklace that celebrated our life together. Starting with a drawing, then working through to a model, I was involved at every step with Karen firmly in the lead. The end result was a wonderful piece of distinctive jewellery that we'll remember for the rest of our lives and will hopefully live in our family for a very long time.
