VIA Business Lounge

Bar Lounge

👍 Modest but lovely. A little comfort and quiet before you start a long journey. Lots is space and privacy. Sound proofing could be a bit better, but then again this is Canada’s busiest intermodal hub and the busy vibes are part of the charm. You can get a non alcoholic beverage. Lots of tea and coffe... People often mention business, lounge, train, class, nice, coffee, time, drinks, boarding, relax,

Nice lounge for those traveling the train in the business class cars to sit relax grab some drinks or a bite to eat before getting on the train. This lounge has lots of space to move around with ease. It also comfortable couches and chairs to sit on as well as some tables.

VIA business lounge is "good" but decor is quite nice with an art deco feel. Service in the lounge was good, but sparse food and drink as shown. Snacks and coffee would have been nice. On the up side, washrooms are modern and clean.

Awesome lounge for executive class customers traveling from and to Toronto. Spacious, clean and with lots of amenities like coffee, juice, water and fruits. Toilets are clean. Staff is friendly and ready to assist you. Ideal to relax after a long trip. Or even to arrive early at the station and enjoy a no rush hour.

Excellent spacious area to relax and wait prior to boarding the train. Plenty of hot and cold beverage selections. Clean bathrooms and very nice staff. Definitely better than rushing through traffic to Pearson airport for the plane and stressing out. If you have the time and it fits your schedule, trains are the way to go.

I’m going be kind of blunt in my review as somebody who takes via pretty often and not so much business class & here’s why. The quality of food, portion sizes and lack of accommodations for business class seems lacking in my own opinion, thus the value not being worth it if you’re paying yourself or you’re employer is. That being said the business lounge is lacking at least right now in terms of food as well & again accommodations. I’m not sure if it was like that before Covid but I can only assume at least as far as the lack of food goes their was food in the business lounge. When I took my train at the time their was no food and not much of a range for drinks. While the Art Deco style features are nice I feel via could step up the quality of furniture, add USB ports to outlets, add a hard wired connection for internet because the WiFi is honestly rather slow & for me personally making it cooler in the via business lounge because i found it to be rather hot. Just an idea, instead of person manually looking at each and every persons business ticket to verify the business ticket, maybe via could benefit in adding 2-3 digital kiosks. Because when I was their the line ended up pretty big. In all I don’t really see myself taking business class all that much because of the value for money, again if the employer is paying for the ticket of the person then knock yourself out and take Via’s business class

Great little rest stop, some coffee (from one of those Cappuccino machines from Nespresso), soft drinks, and fruits. Clean facilities, mostly quiet except for the occasional children screaming. But it's all free with the business class ticket so no complaints!

They need to update their hours as it shows opens late but they open at 6am. Good seating however for the price of business class tickets and access to lounge wasnt worth it. They do not even have bottled water in the fridge, coffee tasted stale and there was no breakfast or even snacks available. Good for waiting area nothing else. They also make announcements when the trains are ready for boarding. It is 2 mins walks across from the station

Maybe I should not order healthy meal next time… The chicken breast was a disaster but the staff working on the train is extremely helpful and friendly. The facility and environment is kind of outdated, maybe it’s time to upgrade

Absolutely LOVE taking Via! Especially Via1. I've been taking the train now for more than a decade. There have definitely been some ups and downs with service along the way but all in all, it's usually always a great time. The food and complimentary drinks on Via1 are a nice treat. I take the train from Toronto to Ottawa often and find it a great to just shut off for 4-5 hours. I must say the wi-fi, in my opinion, is awful for those looking to stream something during the trip. I recommend doing it ahead of time. Besides that, I highly recommend Via and Via1 to everyone.

Great place to relax while waiting for our train. Hot and cold drinks and snacks. Comfortable seating with WiFi and multiple TV screens. Boarding announcements are easy to hear...

The lounge is nice in that it isn't typically crowded, so it offers a sanctuary from the pandemonium that is Union Station. Having said that, given what a business class train ticket costs, the snacks (there are none) and refreshments (soda, juice, and machine-coffee) are a joke. The washrooms reeked of urine, but that seems to be a Union Station specialty - not just in the business lounge.

I wish to extend my deepest gratitude to Raul, a remarkable employee who went above and beyond to save my vacation trip. His kindness, helpfulness, and unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction were evident throughout my journey. Furthermore, I want to thank Raul for introducing me to the business lounge, which greatly enhanced my travel experience. Raul's exceptional service and personal touch truly set VIA Rail apart. Thank you, Raul, for making my journey memorable.

Great place to wait for train departure... I'd give 5 stars on service if VIA could actually stick to their scheduled departure times. I traveled from London to Toronto twice this past week. With 75% late departures (up to 45 mins delay) and 100% late arrivals (up to 75 mins delay). 😕

Nice place to wait and relax in comfort if travelling via business class. Also a quick note!! The food photos posted on the trays are NOT served in this lounge those are travellers photos on board the train in the business class tagging the pictures in the wrong place

Seating in lounges on the Via concourse is limited. Economy class customers join long queues prior to boarding with baggage. Business Class passengers and frequent travelers enjoy a more comfortable lounge with complimentary coffee and soft drinks, seating, WiFi and information about departures. While the lounge is busy, passengers proceed directly to a priority boarding area. The lounge, amenities and preboarding each make the entire trip more relaxing, for passengers willing and able to pay a premium for upgraded onboard seating and included meals.

A calm place to wait for your train, some options of beverage and a clean bathroom.

Clean and comfortable with quiet areas and tables to work and charge equipment. Nice assortment of beverages. Food is limited but they do set out fresh apples and don't mind if you bring food in with you. Some food options...even if for sale....would be appreciated as they don't offer luggage storage.

The seats are always comfortable, the staff are friendly enough and I personally am grateful for the safe area to wait out my boarding time. But I think the lounge could use some care and there are some areas that could use improvement or attention. The hot water machine was not working this last visit for people who drink tea (even if there was tea it would be nice to have a non dairy whitener), there were no real snack options either for those of us waiting for delayed departures and there was a mouse running around for the holiday season. Little things that with some care could make the business class lounge even nicer.

Welcoming staff at the reception, decent view on the Royal York, not too crowded. Two super automatic type coffee machines with different coffee beans (Vanilla and Colombian). A stacked fridge with bottles of juice and soda cans. Some of the areas were closed to the public. Green apples were juicy and fresh, would be great to have something to chew on. Note that the magazines and newspapers are now all virtual. The wifi can be lacking at times but that's more of an issue on-board.

Beautiful and large space with many varieties of seating choices. Tables to eat food (you bring in yourself), a desk with lights, many comfortable chairs and couches. The staff were very friendly and announced train boarding. There was a selection of refrigerated juice and water, a latte machine with freshly ground beans used in the drinks, a coffee machine, and apples. All complimentary. Very large and nice bathrooms, huge windows that face the Royal York hotel on front street. Some tvs - One was playing FIFA, another on CP 24. Some seasonal decorations - a Christmas tree. There were outlets everywhere that you could plug your devices into. Staff going around constantly cleaning, wiping, restocking. It was very clean and felt safe. A very nice space in which to spend time waiting for a train!

Nice place to relax while waiting for the ridiculous long time frames between trains. Heading between London and Trenton. Also, if you weren't able to get a business class ticket and you are a member of the military they sometimes let you in.

As much as I appreciate the fact that the Business Class Lounge remains open through covid-19, it's just beverages! I was really looking forward to having a coffee and the machines were out of order so as to say. However, both fridges had pop an assortment of juices. How is it that people can open up the doors the fridges no problem but aren't allowed to push a simple button on a machine! You guys need to rethink how you treat your valued customers.

Great hub for several routes. Clean, uncongested place with very approachable and amazing staff. The downside is that the wifi doesn't reach the boarding gates. Great place still.

Good place to watch the Raptors win or the Leafs lose minutes before you gotta catch your train. I'm not even joking here, the place generates a nice crowd outside the bar who watch the games on the screen. Nice to hang with others (but don't forget to stay 2 metres apart!)

It’s good, you get earlier you have a place to chill out for a bit. There are complimentary beverages which is a nice touch. For me the key is that is a nice place just to be while waiting for the train.

👍 Good food as always! Convenient. Kids friendly. One star less because in the men’s washrooms there is no arrangement for baby diapers change. I managed it somehow but for a single dad with baby it is not convenient. I hope management would put up something to resolve it. Thank you.
