I had a severe case of vertigo and was in distress. I was able to get an appointment with Anna quickly. Cornerstone was very thorough with their screening. Anna did a full assessment and quickly found the cause of my problem. In only two sessions I was cured and that was a great relief! Anna was very professional and followed up after the appointment to see how I was doing. She also gave me some preventative exercises. I would recommend Cornerstone to anyone having problems with vertigo.

I am training all along the year for long distance swims & runs competitions so I dealt with many different physios in the last years. I tried Cornerstone Clinic after starting feeling pain in my shoulder and I was very surprised by the professionalism of Steven right at the assessment appointment. After a couple of weeks I've experience an incredible improvement by following the exercises and stretches provided. Steven always followed up, asked questions and he made sure that I understood all the steps of the process to recovery. In just few weeks my shoulder pain was gone and I was able to increase my training level. I strongly recommend Steven and will definitely use his service for future issues. The young lady at the front desk has always been very welcoming and help full so overall I just wanted to share my amazing experience since it does not happen often to have such a great service. Thanks! Fabien

Great, well run clinic. All appointments were on time. My therapist was Laurel Brewster. Laurel took the time to explain my issue using a shoulder model which made it easier to understand what was causing the pain. Laurel also made sure I understood why her recommended exercises were important to strengthen and regain range of motion in my shoulder.

I am seriously impressed with the results I have been able to achieve in just a short course of sessions at Cornerstone Physiotherapy's Dizziness Clinic. At the initial assessment, my physiotherapist, Cole Miller, took extra time to make sure that he understood my symptoms and identified their true cause. The process of working with Cole over the next few sessions was fantastic. He was able to explain complex information about my vestibular dysfunction, and he gave me a series of exercises that allowed me to achieve my goals in only a few sessions. I can now turn my head in any direction without fear of becoming dizzy and feeling unwell.

Cornerstone was quick and flexible to make an initial appointment. Ross was excellent and provided a clear plan of action and setting expectations. He was able to understand my concerns and goals and provided a suitable course to recovery.

I was recommended to go to Cornerstone by my surgeon after some questionable advice I received at a different institution. I ended up having a great experience recovering from my ACL repair with Steven K. at Cornerstone. He is a skilled, knowledgeable therapist who provides good patient-centered care. He also did some dry needling to my muscles which helped with muscle activation post-operatively. I attained full range of motion by 6 weeks post-op. I would attribute a large portion of this success to the comprehensive rehabilitation program that Steven offered. The physiotherapy clinic itself was clean with good equipment, and they were able to direct bill to my insurance. Overall I would highly recommend!

Anna is amazing. Truly a gem of a physiotherapist. She is thorough, knowledge, and compassionate with her physio treatments. I feel like she really listens to me and takes that into consideration with every visit. I noticed an improvement already and will continue to see her. The cornerstone staff are really knowledgeable and nice. Location is good. It’s near Union station and easily accessible by transit.

Saw Rosie for prenatal pelvic floor physio. The front desk staff along with Rosie were always super friendly throughout the process. I had a very smooth and comfortable third trimester as well as delivery and I'm confident it was only possible with Rosie's advice and exercises. Post partum care was really helpful too, and the staff were all really understanding and accommodating whether I had to bring in baby or reschedule because of baby delays. Honestly just wish I came in earlier in my pregnancy.

I went to Cornerstone Physiotherapy to get my neck pain looked at. From the very first visit, Dr. Steven Khuu was able to provide me with exercise that reduced the pain considerably and in the subsequent weeks his advice helped me improve my posture and strengthen my neck muscles so that the pain wouldn’t come back. Very friendly atmosphere at the clinic and easy to schedule appointments. They also have direct billing with insurance providers which saves a lot of hassle.

Cornerstone Physiotherapy exceeded my expectations. To start, the clinic is easily accessible, clean, quiet and staff are so kind. The receptionist is really helpful in making/changing appointments and knowledgeable on insurance claims. I came in to see Rosie Mahendran for pelvic floor physio. I'm beyond impressed with her professionalism, patience and care for her clients. She spent 6 months with me and I can really say that she changed my life. She took the time to explain pelvic floor physio to me, and laid out a plan that we will follow throughout the course of my treatment. She felt like a friend and someone I could open up to and be comfortable with. Thanks to her, I've now completed my physio treatments and have walked away with practices I can take home with me. I will be sad not to see her as part of my routine, but I know if I ever need physio again I will be returning to Cornerstone Physiotherapy on University Street!

COVID left me with a bad sinus infection which caused my first bout with vertigo, except it wasn't exactly that. I was referred to Cornerstone by a friend, and an appointment was made for me with Cole. He patiently took the time to ask me questions and then examine me, which led to a diagnosis of vestibular neuritis, and a set of exercises to do at home. In only three appointments I was able to clear it up and now have new exercises to complete for a few more months to try to ensure it doesn't return. Thank you to Cole and Cornerstone, I won't hesitate to recommend you both!

It was a great experience with this clinic. I hurt my left knee and right ankle and with the help and guidance from my physiotherapist, Ross Cameron, he managed to get me back to feeling close to normal quicker than I thought. I would definitely recommend the services of the downtown location of Cornerstone Physiotherapy!

I'm so grateful for the vestibular physio assessment and treatments I received from Cole. He's super knowledgeable of vestibular conditions and helped me understand my symptoms far better than any other professional I sought. After a few sessions, I was back to my regular activities and couldn't be happier with my progress :)

My therapist Ross was exceptional. He diagnosed the issue methodically and kept me in the loop every step of the way. The exercises he prescribed for me were very beneficial and made a huge difference. I will certainly be returning in the future if the need ever arises.

Fantastic service by Laurel Brewster who got straight to the bottom of a lower back injury that has been debilitating me for 6 months. Would highly recommend her. Practice is clean, runs on time and well priced. Will be definitely using this place going forward.

Great therapy with Steven Khuu. Very knowledgeable and attentive to my injuries. Had a hip impingement and shoulder pain for a over a year that wouldn't go away and prevented me from working out. Steven identified the cause and gave me the tools needed to solve the issue. Been pain free for couple months now and couldn't be happier with the service I received from Steven as well as everyone at Cornerstone.

Saw Steven for a couple of months for POTS and Long COVID. Advice he gave was excellent and helped me recover much quicker than I originally expected I would. Back to my regular training schedule once again which is amazing. Thanks Steven!

I've been lucky to have Rosie at cornerstone help me recover from a sudden pinched nerve and overcome tremendous amount of pain. Very grateful to her and thank her for her patience, guidance, and many many notes on how to continue to improve outside of the physio sessions.

  • 5/5 Ryan K. 9 months ago on Google
Ross was very helpful with the rehabilitation of my knee after I injured it, showing me various exercises I could do at home and re-instilling confidence in my ability to perform physical activities following recovery from my injury. The space is well-equipped and the pricing is reasonable. Would definitely recommend.

Anna Staruszkiewicz is a superstar. I’ve literally gone to about 6 physiotherapists before her, and I’ve not been able to touch my lower right back pain… until Anna! She was recommended to me by another (tall) back pain sufferer, and she just had a depth of knowledge and a specificity I hadn’t experienced. Truly. Her exercises were manageable and made sense. I know I was a *tough case* because I’m highly athletic & mobile, and so my back issues were hard to figure out for the average Physio (they weren’t gross and obvious, they were hard to pin down). But Anna was able to locate the source of the issues, and the treatment I needed. I hesitate to say this because it’s been so many years of low grade, dull back ache — but I’ve been pain free for months now. So all to say, I’m grateful. And I highly recommend her!

Highly recommend this clinic! I've been working with members of the Cornerstone Physio team for over 5 years for various injuries. Their physiotherapists are highly knowledgable, empathetic and 2SLGBTQIA+ friendly. I've always had difficulty trusting someone new with my health, and taking a leap of faith with the folks at this clinic was absolutely worth it.

My physiotherapist is wonderful Cameron highly recomend. However if you have green shield find a different place to go. From my experience they do not offer direct billing. Office staff behaviour is subpar. I was initially given the option of not paying upfront because obviously they claimed they have direct billing and was working with green shield. The upfront payment was waived because I was told that they were working with green shield to set up my physios account with them. Fine no probably after a few visits I decided to pay upfront without being asked because I was told the same thing about waiting on green shield. On my next I thought I’d be allowed to let it accumulate and make one lump some payment like I had in the past, but the office staff made it seem like I was trying not to pay even though my bill was up-to-date in full. However now it seems the rules have changed and when I asked what the difference was. I didn’t get a suitable answer. My only advice if you have green shield go where they actually offer direct billing. ***Before attending your initial appointment you are given a questionnaire that asked for your insurance information. So they were well aware of the insurer I had.

It all began with an unusual pain in my left leg. After undergoing multiple tests and imaging scans, there was still no concrete diagnosis to explain what was happening. I started seeing a chiropractor last year, but the pain persisted. I continued with chiropractic treatments for about five months, but the uncertainty of an unknown issue or rather malicious in my body was causing me anxiety and nervousness. That's when I decided to try seeing a physiotherapist, thinking 'why not?' During my search, I stumbled upon Cornerstone Physiotherapy on Google, which had the best 5-star reviews. Taking a chance, I made an appointment with Steven Khuu. I'm thrilled to say that seeing him was the best decision I made in my journey to alleviate this pain. When I first saw him, I was in terrible shape. Over the course of 4-5 months, he not only helped me with my pain but also played a crucial role in managing my overall health. Today was my last appointment with him as I am moving out of the city, but I can certainly say that I don't feel the pain on most days. I still feel the pain sometimes but at least, I have a plan to manage it by doing the stretching exercises he taught me. He also instructed me on strengthening exercises and emphasized the importance of overall core health. I just can't thank him enough for bringing me to this level because prior to seeing him, I almost felt handicapped and trapped in my body where I didn't feel like doing anything.

She was very thorough and really zeroed in on what’s causing all my pain and helped ease me through the whole healing and recovery process. She’s so very kind and attentive, patient and understanding - I really lucked out and having her treat me!

Cornerstone Physiotherapy has been my go to for over 20 years now. No matter the injury, Adam and June along with their skilled team of therapists, have helped me over come any and all injuries. (and trust me in my profession, I have had a lot). I highly recommend Cornerstone Physiotherapy, to help maintain a heathy and able body. High praise for my latest therapist, Steven Khuu.

I highly recommend Anna if you have any vestibular issues, dizziness etc. My situation is very complicated but Anna has stood by me every step of the way with nothing but compassion and support. She is extremely knowledgeable (more so than the doctors and specialists ive seen). I trust her completely. She goes above and beyond for her clients and really cares about them. Office admin staff are always friendly and place is clean. Located a short walk from the subway.

I recently had the pleasure of receiving physiotherapy treatment at Cornerstone Physiotherapy - Downtown Toronto, under the care of Dr. Steven Khuu. My experience was nothing short of exemplary. Dr. Steven Khuu was not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable. His instructions were clear and easy to understand, playing a crucial role in my rapid recovery from a broken ankle. A standout feature of Cornerstone was their state-of-the-art system, equipped with videos and an exceptional user interface. This platform made it incredibly straightforward to view exercises, log my progress, and keep track of my recovery journey. On the administrative side, the clinic's management was top-notch. They efficiently processed payments through both of my insurances, and their direct expense submission to the insurance companies made the financial dealings smooth and hassle-free. I also deeply appreciate their transparency and commitment to their patients. On one occasion, they mistakenly overcharged me by $20. However, they proactively reached out to inform me of this oversight and promptly offered a reimbursement. Although I had to visit in person to rectify this, given my proximity to the clinic, it wasn't a significant inconvenience. In summary, for anyone seeking high-quality physiotherapy care in Downtown Toronto, I wholeheartedly recommend Cornerstone Physiotherapy and, in particular, the expertise of Dr. Steven Khuu.

I saw Steven Khuu at Cornerstone Physio recently. He was very thorough in his assessment of my knee pains and explained his diagnosis to me very clearly. After the assessment portion, I got some in-clinic treatment from him which helped to immediately soothe my symptoms. Steven then created an exercise plan that I could do at home. The exercises were very thoughtfully targeted towards my specific conditions and Steven made sure to walk me through them in the clinic’s gym/exercise areas to make sure I was doing them safely and properly. Overall great experience at the clinic and with Steven.

I attended Cornterstone Physio for pelvic floor issues. Rosie was incredibly helpful in helping me rehabilitate. Before going I was having issues that were waking me several times each night. Since attending physio those issues have been resolved. I would highly recommend it!!!

Dizziness: I found Cornerstone by chance, called them and got an appointment the same day! Melissa was assigned to me and was absolutely excellent. She educated me on my condition and worked with me to find "exactly" the right treatment that would work perfectly with my exact issue, all in one visit. This took us a over time into the next appointment time, as no one was booked, Melissa was more then willing and determined to make sure I left that visit feeling 100% confident in her abilities to help me resolve my issue and understand what was going on and did not charge me anything extra for the extra time spent. Melissa has also been available after hours, whenever I email her! She gets back within 24hrs max. Also, Cornerstone has an app where they send you videos of treatments recommended for you that show you exactly how to do each exercise that you can use anytime time you want as many times you want.

Had a knee injury that Cole helped treat and provide strengthening exercises as a corrective/preventative measure. Was very pleased by his thoughtful approach to understanding the underlying cause and recommendations for recovery. Love the attentive and empathetic approach that Cole took to understanding my injury from his own experiences as an athlete and the personalized video links to exercises I can do at home. Highly recommend!

Marvelous first session with Dr. Laurel. Best stress buster for your body's physical problems. Got so much relief on fist day itself. So much soothing mentally also that half of the issues were reduced to minimal already. Do's and don'ts are very specific and wisely narrated. Help desk is all 5 star with cheerful Ms. Haley. Was initially a bit skeptical and nervous but it was just wonderful 👌😀. Highly recommended.

I sought physiotherapy (initially in person, and then via a succession of virtual sessions because of pre-vaccine Covid) to fix a rowing injury and prevent future ones. Virtual physio isn't ideal (though it was my choice given the pandemic), but Cole was very helpful - nice bench-side manner, knowledgeable about the muscles involved and with an extensive menu of exercises that would help, both for the rowing and a later elbow injury. I am back to rowing my usual distance regularly but would go back without hesitation if I needed physio again.

I was referred to Cornerstone by my family doctor for dizziness and potential BPPV. I was experiencing vertigo which is very unpleasant. I worked with Anna who is absolutely amazing. I was terrified of doing this as I didnt know what to expect or what it may bring on but it was worth it in my opinion. She does a very thorough assessment and was able to confirm that I did indeed have BPPV. The epley maneuvers were not pleasant but it did help me. I highly recommend her for this. She's so knowledgeable and explains everything she's doing. I am grateful to have met her and will continue to see her as needed.

I worked with Rosie Mahendran for my pelvic floor physiotherapy. I had a very positive experience working with her. She is very knowledgeable and explains every procedure clearly and in detail. The sessions were never rushed and Rosie made sure that I was comfortable and aware of what each session consisted of. She also made sure that all my queries were answered, either directly or over email. The front desk staff (Hayley & her colleagues) are also very friendly and helpful and physio rates are really competitive (having done some prior research). I will definitely book follow up sessions here and highly recommend Rosie and her team.

My first experience Cornerstone was amazing. I would highly recommend. The Front desk was so helpful and friendly. Which made booking and staying up-to-date with appointments that easier. My physical therapist Rosie was extremely knowledgable and professional. Rosie made each step of rehab manageable and specialized to your weaknesses and injury. Well being super encouraging and easy to communicate with.

I have nothing but praise for Cornerstone. After years of jumping around to different clinics I finally have settled with Cornerstone and Anna my Physiotherapist. Firstly, Cornerstone is incredibly professional. Well run, great with communication, timely. All the good things. My interactions with the staff are always enjoyable and effortless. Now about Anna. Anna Staruszkiewicz has been my physiotherapist for years. She's a star. As a clumsy dork who regularly hurts himself I can say Anna has reversed all of my self-inflicted damage. Hands, arms, neck, back. She is great with treatment, follow-up and support through the whole process. She's amazing. Her great sense of humor and fashion forward style are icing on the cake. She's a cool breeze on a hot summer day, and she'll get you straightened out (literally) in no time! I can't say enough about Anna and Cornerstone. Highly recommended.

The Downtown Cornerstone Physiotherapy met my needs of being convenient to my workplace so I could schedule appointments around my work schedule. Their staff has been great about scheduling appointments, quickly responding to any queries and always pleasant when you check in. While that is a plus, more importantly, Steven Khuu, one of their newest physiotherapists, provides outstanding care. He listens and observes carefully as he assesses your injury or mobility needs. He is knowledgeable and eager to share that knowledge so you get a much better understanding of the rehab program he designs for you. He treats all his clients with respect and celebrates each step of recovery with genuine enthusiasm as he pushes you to that next level.

From the moment I was greeted by the staff, I felt welcome and comfortable. I was paired up with Cole to meet my recovery needs, who was always on time for my scheduled appointment. He was professional, welcoming and knowledgeable about my condition. I broke my collar bone and he went above and beyond to get me back to a normal life. Cole listened to my needs. He took everyday range of motions that I perform, unique to the type of work that I do, and catered a program specific to me. I received follow up communication, to ensure I was on the road to recovery, and he promoted my healing in a safe and efficient way. I would highly recommend Cole as a physiotherapist.

Would highly recommend everyone go see Steven Khuu at Cornerstone's downtown location for all of your physiotherapy needs!! Steven has been nothing short of amazing and helped me through a nagging shoulder injury through various techniques such as manual therapy and dry needling to both relieve pain and improve mobility. My shoulder has never felt better after a few weeks of treatment. He's also very knowledgeable in providing personalized recovery/corrective exercises to ensure that the same issues are not reoccurring. Cornerstone also does direct billing to insurance making everything easy.

Great experience going to Cornerstone. Everyone from the reception team, to my physio were so helpful in my recovery journey after a concussion. If you have a concussion, I highly recommend going to physio to get better. The approach is a lot better than being told to sit in a dark room for weeks on end. Everything the team at Cornerstone did to help me get better was super accessible, friendly, and not intimidating. Cole was an awesome physiotherapist with a great and necessary modern approach to concussion healing. Would 100% recommend to a friend.

I had a very positive experience at Cornerstone. The front desk staff are very welcoming and the direct billing option was convenient. Steven Khuu supported my recovery from a wrist injury for about a month. His assessment was thorough, taking the time to make sure I understood the diagnosis. As an Exercise Physiologist who also supports clients with injuries, I trust Steven and will continue to promote his services to family and friends.

Cornerstone and their staff demonstrate the utmost professionalism in treating their patients from the initial appointment set up to your final session and all that comes between that. Having worked with Steven Khuu consistently over the past five months, I could not recommend a better physiotherapist to serve your needs. Steven builds trust with his patients by coupling his immense knowledge with his genuine interest in helping you achieve your goals. I have been able to make tremendous strives in my ankle rehabilitation while celebrating various milestones thanks to Steven's ability to set short- and long-term plans that align with my goals and needs. I would recommend Steven to those not looking for a quick fix but for someone looking for a practitioner interested in improving one’s physical, mental, and emotional state through their work.

I had a continuous head spinning feeling. The ER DR diagnosed it as vertigo but the exercises they recommended made it worse. I was looking for a clinic to treat it and came across Cornerstone Physio. I booked a therapy session with Cole M.. After a detailed test, he diagnosed me with another condition. The exercises he recommended made me even stronger than before. He then treated my neck pain and significantly reduced my back pain. I get injured very frequently and I've been to many physio clinics. I can easily say that Cole has a very unique approach. He finds the root cause and tries different approaches to address it. I don't have experience with the other therapists at this location but I would highly recommend Cole. The staff at the reception are very professional as well. They've always been very helpful with all the reservations, cancellations & payments.

As in the past, my experience this time with Cornerstone was excellent. Rosie was my Physiotherapist and I saw her for Pelvic Therapy. She was very personable, efficient, competent, communicative, caring, and professional. She helped me to understand the causes of my problem as well as different techniques on how to improve my pelvic muscle strength and control, how to increase blood flow to the area, and how to improve my erectile dysfunction. She helped me achieve my goal, which was to recover from erectile dysfunction. The exercises that she prescribed for doing at home were straightforward, very helpful and easy to incorporate. My sincere thanks to Rosie and all of you for all you do! Your clinic is truly exceptional. I would recommend Rosie and your clinic to friends, colleagues, and family.

Excellent physiotherapy place! The receptionists are nice, my physiotherapist Laurel Brewster is a miracle worker, I had a complicated surgery on my elbow with 17 screws, I was told I might never gain functional range of motion again, my surgeon was shocked to see my progress. He said the progress my physiotherapist has made with me was unparalleled. I agree! Laurel even caught that one of the screws might be affecting my rotation so I went to tell the surgeon and she was right! We took it out and went back to physio and it's all good now Highly recommend this place and highly recommend Laurel

Professional and friendly. Made an initial inquiry phone call. They answered the phone! And they proceeded to answer my questions and give advice without rushing. Very pleasant. Met with Ross Cameron for treatment. Again, professional and friendly. Asked a ton of what I thought were very well-thought-out questions to assess my injury. Explained everything about my situation and answered all questions. Clear and concise. Gave me exercises and every time explained to me the goal of the exercise. This is the third time (and third clinic) I have gone to physio and the only time I thought it was worth my time. Highly recommend. Thank you to Cornerstone.

Rosie is incredible. A friend recommended I see her for the pelvic pain I was experiencing and her care went above and beyond what I expected. She not only helped me work through the pain but also advocated for me by offering referrals and planning next steps in my care. Working with Rosie changed my life and I will be forever grateful for her!

Had a wonderful experience working with Steven Khuu at Cornerstone Physiotherapy after an ankle sprain. Was great to see the tremendous progress each session. After each appointment, I received a link to the exercises (images and text instructions) I needed to practice before the next session, which was very helpful. We worked on ankle strength, mobility, and balance, as I had had frequent sprains. Highly recommend both Cornerstone Physiotherapy and Steven.

I saw Ross for issues with knee pain. He was very thorough in assessing what was causing the issues and developing a treatment plan - which worked! He was also great at explaining what the different exercises were trying to target and resolve. I would definitely recommend Cornerstone.
