Although friendly and seemingly knowledgeable, I find them hard to deal with.. I have requested that the results of my ultrasounds, consultations etc be sent to my doctor at least on 3 occasions and that has still not been done. I find myself having to call back over and over again and all they tell me is that will either do it promptly, that it has been sent? Or that someone will call me back.. on top of that, even though they have recommended a treatment and quoted me a price over the phone (nearly $5000 for one leg) they refuse to send me any sort of quote, invoice or anything on paper for me to submit to my private insurance. I have also since consulted at other clinics and while the treatment they have recommended at the veins clinic may not be specifically covered, there are others that could be… the only upside of dealing with them is I will potentially have ultrasounds to keep for my records (if they ever send them to me or my doctor as requested) and that so far it has not cost me any money! In retrospect it does feel like they recommended the treatment the clinic would make the most money off of, no matter how effective it can be, and I question their genuineness when they affirm and re-affirm that the treatment isn’t covered or that there may not be another option that could be. I have not been offered any other options but the venaseal - although I know for a fact there are. Surely, a clinic that specializes in vein treatment does more than one service? Or should they rename “the venaseal clinic”?

I would never use this clinic again. Horrifically organized, poor service and terrible results. I spent $8000 to have the venaseal procedure on my both legs. It was really really painful and after consulting with another clinic I’ve realized I could have done a much less invasive and less expensive procedure with laser. Surgeons only work at clinic a day or so a week so it took me months to coordinate my post procedure follow ups for my 3 month, 6 month and 1 year and when I finally got back in my surgeon had retired. I found out when I arrived at my appointment. The surgeon that saw me told me he didn’t even know the other surgeon and he didn’t have any of my records to understand what they had done. After all of this they recommended that I do sclareotherapy and they cancelled my appointment 4 times before I finally did the appointment which is not done with a doctor. Canada Vein clinic charges $300 a treatment. I’m going to a new and much better clinic who treats me weekly at $35 a session for larger veins and a doctor treats me. Once we move on to treating the spider veins it’s $120/session and the doctor will continue to treat me. Please whatever you do, do not use Canada Vein Clinics. There are much better, more organized and much more professional clinics and services out there!

I went to Canada vein clinics because my legs were in pain for standing for hours and hours at work and I wanted to get them checked out. I also had some spider veins coming through and a varicose vein starting at the back of my knee. After discovering that I had chronic venous insufficiency (what my mom and grandmother also have) I decided to get the Veneseal procedure done. The procedure took less than 3 hours and I took a few days off to recover (I felt much better after 2-3). Thank you To Dr. Matz and his team for their professionalism and kindness. I don’t regret a thing!

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with this clinic. When I was researching about Dr. Matz, I also trusted his team. Dr. Culligan performed the venaseal procedure on both legs. It was quite an expensive procedure. I decided to have the surgery with high hopes. But after the surgery, my legs became visibly worse. The pain in my legs and the feeling of fatigue are more. Every time I told Culligan about this, he he reassured me by saying that everything will be fine within 1 year. At the end of 1 year, they did not pay attention to my complaint. They did not keep their promise. This clinic hurt me both financially and morally.Culligan is very illiterate, irresponsible and plays with people's feelings.

Worst place ever. Came here for an in person consultation with the doctor. Although I arrived an hour early I patiently waited to see the doctor. Fast forward to 20 mins past my scheduled appt the nice girl at the front desk went to check with the doctor if it was ok to call me in. This doctor had no idea I was there for an in person consultation. Overall very bad first impression and total disrespect of my valuable time. It took me an hour to drive here and this doctor had no idea I’m here to see him. What a joke!! I’m going to find another place to address my varicose vein issue.

My experience with Canada vein clinic was great. From my consultation to the COVID outbreak, I thought I had lost my chance. But soon enough they were prepared and ready to proceed with caution of course. The procedure took little time, both legs in under two hours. The recovery was non existent. Luckily I did it in the summer so I was able to start walking outside immediately. I even walked half way home from the clinic. The results were instant for me and now almost 5 months later I couldn’t be happier. No popping veins, no tiered legs!

I’m speaking on behalf of the experience that my father in law (Chong) & I have had at this particular location: we’ve been thoroughly and professionally taken care of. From the initial inquiry, to the procedure, to the follow-up appointments, Dr. Matz & the CVC team are truly the best. Chong presented with excruciating leg pain & bothersome varicose veins. Before CVC, he tried topical creams, antibiotics, & wearing stockings with poor outcomes. However, our anxieties quickly subsided after being presented the treatments & how to best proceed. We went with the vein ablation procedure. After this procedure, he feels like a new man & his legs are unrecognizable (to what they once were). We owe it to Dr. Matz & the CVC team for being prompt and professional; for being diligent with follow-up appointments, and for allowing me to be involved every step of the way.

Venaseal procedure for both legs I was hesitant to do any procedures before and I finally decided to do something about my problem - some days my legs would be heavy and itchy, plus I have not wear dresses (vanity fair) for so many years. I did my homework on line an decided to go with Vein Clinic in Toronto with Dr. Alexander Matz. I got referral from my doctor first and at the Vein clinic they first do ultrasounds and based on that they recommend the best procedure for each person. I was recommended Venaseal. My actual procedure was done in March 2021 and I am seeing amazing results from this procedure, veins are slowly closing and the best part is that my legs feel so light. I finally start to exercise after 3 weeks and I feel like I got new pair of legs. The procedure was somewhat painful, but I think most people can handle it as this is not invasive procedure. Right after the procedure legs are very stiff and a bit uncomfortable. 3 days later I was feeling much better. With my initial experience I would wholeheartedly recommend this clinic to anyone who needs expertise for any kind of vein problem. Thank you Dr. Matz :) Elvira M

As far as the staff, service and treatment, Canada Vein Clinic has been exceptional. Dr. Culligan, is very compassionate, humorous and personable. I arrived to the clinic with varicose and spider vein issues. What I didn’t realize was that my varicose veins were the cause of the swelling, heaviness and discomfort I had been experiencing in my legs, and feet over the years. To remedy this issue, I underwent VenaSeal. Overall the procedure was successful and I noticed a significant difference in how my legs felt within a matter of a couple of weeks. Appearance wise, I was told that would take time. As of right now I am undergoing sclerotherapy to treat my spider veins. It’s a process for me considering the condition my legs were in. I just wish I had been able to take care of this issue years earlier. All in all, I’m glad I chose Canada Vein Clinic.

I had a vena seal procedure on both legs. The team, the nurses and doctors are very professional and helpful. The virtual consultation and follow ups are excellent as well. I recommend the procedure to everyone who has varicose veins and even if they have done vein stripping, I just wish I knew about this procedure before I had the stripping. Thank you so much for all what you do, stay safe.

I came to Canada Vein Clinics because my leg pain, burning sensation, swelling, itching and also by the appearance of my leg. Doctor Alexander Shenderey and his assistant deserve 5 star. They were very kind and knowledgeable. Their professional conduct remained intact through the whole process. Now that I had the procedure I feel 100% better. I am able to sleep without discomfort and I don’t have any of the symptoms I had before and also my leg looks so much better. I definitely recommend their services.❤️

I had a lot of pain and heaviness in my legs, which kept me awake at night. I did the venaseal treatment which was painful but totally worth it. The pain is mostly gone and the post-operative follow-ups have been excellent.

I am pleased to share with you my experience with Canada Vein Clinics. I was referred to the clinic by my GP following an annual assessment. The on set of varicose veins happened for me later in life, and not as a result of pregnancies. I was referred to specialists and the only options presented to me were surgery or compression stockings. And for a time, I opted for the compression stockings. Which I found quite a challenge to put and keep on. However, about a year or so ago my GP decided to refer me to Canada Vein Clinics. I was excited to have another option and explore a new direction. And what a great experience it was from the beginning I felt welcomed no question was left unanswered. During the procedure Dr. Culligan and his team kept me well informed and the follow up care is pretty wonderful, they make sure that you don’t forget. I’m very happy with the results, and keep in mind I’m 75+. Would gladly recommend the clinic to others. Thank you, Dr. Culligan, and the Canada Vein Clinics Teams.

Venaseal done for painful varicose vein on my leg. No more surgery, no more cutting and sewing up - just glued shut! The procedure was quickly done by Dr. Metz, and the follow-up ultrasounds done in the same office by a professional and pleasant tech. No post procedure problems. I do have other spider veins developing, but that’s characteristic of my legs. Good experience all together - thank you!

Who knew getting rid of spider veins could be so fun? Thanks to Canada Vein and their Clarivein procedure, I'm now sporting some seriously smooth legs! The customer service here is top-notch - they had me feeling like a VIP from the moment I walked in the door. And let's be real, I was a little nervous about the whole thing. But the staff was amazing - they walked me through every step of the procedure and put my mind at ease. Yes, it was a bit painful at first, but like any good relationship, it just took a little time to get comfortable. Highly recommend Canada Vein for anyone looking to say "Bye Felicia" to those pesky veins!

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional care you provided to my mom during her surgery and her recent medical appointment. She felt comforted and reassured by the professionalism, expertise, and compassion of the entire team. Your dedication and attention to detail helped her and myself feel at ease during a difficult time. I am truly grateful for everything you did for me. I especially want to thank Dr. Chris Culligan for the outstanding work you performed during the surgery. Your skill and expertise are truly remarkable. Once again, thank you for everything. Maryna

Dr. Matz is an excellent doctor to consult with if you are suffering from varicose vein pain and constant discomfort. My leg was so painful and uncomfortable that I couldn't get a good night sleep. I met with Dr. Matz and he described each different kind of procedure to me and then recommended which procedure he thought would be best for me. The procedure was Claravein and it was done right in the clinic. Dr. Matz and the nurse were very professional and compassionate. I was given lots of support and when I was unsure about my healing process, Dr. Matz was available to me by phone to reassure me that everything was ok. It has now been one year since my treatment and I am extremely pleased with the results. I have no more pain and no more bulging veins! I can wear dresses, bathing suits and high heels now without feeling self conscious or experiencing pain. I highly recommend Dr. Katz!

I had laser surgery in November of 2017 and also one a few years earlier. Both times I was pleased with the outcome. I find Dr Matz takes the time to explain what needs to be done and does a thorough follow up. I told him at my last follow up that he did a good job and he said, " I do my best"... I believe that is his motto and he definitely does his best. He has a good team with him and they do a good job.

This is a long read but I thought it's useful to give details so you see what you're possibly getting into. I waited over a month for appointment. On Tuesday at 11 I checked in. The receptionist didn't want to see my health card. Another man checked in after me. The technician eventually came out and called what I thought was my name. Me and the other man both stood up as we have similar first names. They took him. The receptionist asked me if I had an appointment. Not kidding. She looks on her computer and figures out that I had the correct day and time. No apology given. She tells me to come back in an hour and a half. Then she says she can do an hour. I come back at 11:50 and am waiting outside when the receptionist calls me and tells me again to come back at 12:30. I can't do 12:30 so she says come up at 12. As I'm on the phone I see the technician come down and I guess go for lunch. I get up there and wait. until 12:20 when the technician arrives with her Tim Horton's coffee. I wait a few more minutes and am finally called in. She's doing the ultrasound on one leg when I look at the monitor and see the other mans name on the screen. I tell her that's not me or my information. I ask her if she saved his information on my name and my details are on his profile now? She then tries to save the images and whatever else she had and tries to create a profile for me. She doesn't know what to do so she deletes everything she had done. I told her this is totally unprofessional. She actually agrees with me, but then tries to convince me to stay and finish. So I leave. Unfortunately the receptionist wasn't even there so I couldn't find out if my information and the other mans were mixed up and if this would be submitted to the government. This was the worst medical appointment I've ever had by a mile and I've had a few bad ones. I highly recommend you go anywhere else. If you do go, I wish you luck.

Despite the challenges of continuing to practice during Covid, Dr Matz and his team have done a great job taking care of me before, during and after my surgery. At the 4 month point, I am happy with the results of my procedure and hope to see continued improvement as time passes.

Don't waste your time going to this place. I just wasted my afternoon going to this clinic to be sitting outside the office for 2 hours and ended up walking away without even seeing the doctor. If your appointment is at 1:00, make sure to be there around 3:00 and you will still wait another hour for sure. No respect for people at all.

I am very happy about the choice of clinic we made for my husband. He had very visible varicose on one of his legs. Dr. Matz performed VenaSeal procedure on his leg several month ago. Result was immediate, but with more time passing, it gets even better. We highly recommend Dr. Matz and his clinic. Years of successful practice and experience of Dr. Matz will keep you in good hands.

The end result of the non thermal ablation is great! But I wish they gave me something to numb the pain. It was extremely painful, but my veins are just under the skin so it likely hurt me more than most people.

The initial consultation with Dr. Matz was instructive. I was initially nervous about the procedure but Dr. Matz and his team guided me through the process and put me at ease. I experienced minimal discomfort during and after the procedure. Guidelines provided by the clinic for aftercare were clear and easy to follow.

I could not find any info about charges and coverage, obviously it’s not free but giving some idea re what is and is not covered by Ohip and how much charged for various procedure would be courtesy.
