very happy i finally tried this place!! i got a cappuccino and the miso caramel cheesecake, which were both really good. everything here is plant-based, i think even the cutlery and plates, which i appreciate. the ladies working at the front were so sweet and had my order ready quickly. if you plan to eat in, note that it does seem to get pretty busy - i was there about 20-40 minutes after opening and most of the seats ended up taken, though this is on a weekend. i will definitely be back to try their other seasonal items. such a gem!!

Love this Japanese inspired vegan cafe. Tried the plant-based beef on rice and it was delicious. All natural ingredients and products with an impressive dessert/pastry case! It gets crowded on weekend afternoons, and there is limited seating, so be prepared to stand or take it to-go.

I am a huge fan of Tsuchi Cafe! My husband and I go there every week. It is our absolute favorite cafe in the city and we always leave feeling happy and satisfied. The food is absolutely delicious and there is a great variety of options to choose from, including delicious vegan sando and karaage. My personal favorite is the vegan cheesecake - it's not too sweet and has the perfect texture. The service is always friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Overall, I highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for delicious vegan food in Toronto!

Tsuchi Cafe is quaint and elegant, both in their food and their decor/space. Stopped by for a post-dinner treat, and we got the signature tiramisu and autumn fig tart. The tiramisu was soooo good: super moist, good balance of cake and "cream" (it's dairy free), not overly sweet. The fig tart was pretty good: the cream cheese whip was so smooth, but the fig jam was a bit too sweet for me and would have liked the tart shell to be a bit nuttier. My wife who lived in Japan for a year is absolutely head over heels for this place, and says the food and vibe reminds her of her time there. So stop by Tsuchi if you want a taste of Japan.

New Japanese café in soft opening. What a wonderful spot that boasts plant-based goodies with authentic, traditional Japanese flavours. First time here and tried their Hojicha Latte, Matcha Adzuki Roll, Pizza Roll, Leek Quiche and Kodama Cheesecake. Everything is beautifully presented, and delicately flavoured. Grab a seat on their outdoor patio, and enjoy the food & drinks that will transport you to Japan! And they also offer mini grocery items - ramen, sauces, oils, dressings for cooking at home!

Love this kind of vegan plant-based / Japanese style concept cafe. Tsuchi Cafe is one of my best and must-go cafes in Toronto. Highly recommended Hojicha Powder from Tsuchi Cafe. The quality is premium! It's crafted from Kyoko and perfect matched with oat milk. I have tried many other brands but this Hojicha Powder so far is the best one I have. Cheese Cake selection - Tiramisu Tart (best for me), Autumn Fig Tart, Hojicha Cheesecake, Matcha Cheesecake, double chocolate, and there are some seasonal cakes that are luscious, rich, thick and delicious! Drink selection - Matcha Latte, Hojicha Latte (best for me), Kokuto Mocha, Flat white, etc are very good! The owner asked how was it? She was very friendly :) and Veggie Sensei already gave 5/5 and a thumbs up 👍

Cute little vegan cafe! Wish they would consider making their desserts with oat milk instead of soy! (Hint hint). Tried the tiramisu. It tasted almost like the real thing! Very limited seating though. Love that they have their own merch!

How can they make plant-base that good? I am usually skeptical about any plant-base, dairy free dessert… but I am persuaded by Tsuchi dessert. The recipe developer is creative but the food actually taste good and the appearance is elegant and beautiful. My friend and I love their iced hojicha latte. Taste good and smell good too :) the seating area is not too big but very cozy and aesthetic.

Delicious vegan food! My only complaint is that it's on the pricier side. I got the vegan beef curry with karaage $18, tiramisu $8, cheesecake $8, Japanese beer $10. Total was over $50. It's definitely a nice treat since everything is plant based! The karaage is very crispy on the outside but a bit bland on the inside which is normal with soy based alternative chicken.

What a lovely cafe! I love the minimal aesthetic and the natural decor goes well with their vegan theme. I don't know what kind of magic goes on here, but some of their vegan sweets are better than non-vegan ones I've tried elsewhere. I loved my matcha tiramisu and the vanilla custard seasonal cake. I was slightly disappointed with the hojicha cake because there was barely any taste of hojicha, though. Special shout-out to the wonderful staff here. The onigiri I preordered got sold out so they offered me a choice of any other cake. Great service!

Best vegan desserts ever! My friend and I ordered the kurogoma cheesecake and the matcha tiramisu. The cheesecake was black sesame flavour with a red bean base. It had hints of cocoa powder and was topped with silky buttercream. The matcha tiramisu was delectable, the matcha flavour was very prominent, as preferred. We could barely tell that any of it was vegan as they nailed the texture. There was only one other table occupied when we arrived on a Friday afternoon. I loved the overall ambience and would definitely come back to check out their other offerings.

Good coffee, baked goods, and desserts. That happen to also be vegan. Of note, I am very impressed with their shokupan. It has a great gluten structure and feathers beautifully (see video for the tear). I also highly recommend their karepan - again that great bread - with a light crunchy panko coating fried and filled with their “beef” curry. Flavourful and excellent for an on the go snack. The cafe itself has a very clean lines softened by organic touches of wood and plants. A very warm and inviting space.

Yuzu Pepper Pesto: It was like a perfume having top, middle, and ending notes. It starts with fresh and a bit bitter taste of Basil or Perilla leaves, then it smoothly continues to fruity taste of yuzu, and ends with exotic reminiscence of coriander. Mushroom Miso Spread: Umami taste lasts throughout while breaking down the spread in the mouth. The rich taste of beans is highlighted by the minimization of the salty taste. Pomegranate Cheese Cake: popping taste of pomegranate is well distributed to the cheesy part and it goes well with a crunchy chocolate sheet. Signature Tiramisu: cocoa powder does not have a stuffy after-taste. The bread is adequately soaked with coffee. It is not too doughy nor too fluffy. Perfect tiramisu! Looking forward to having the rest of the foods (Mofo tofu & curry) and dressing and sauce!

The vibes are on point. Love the calmness and simplicity of the atmosphere here. We got a matcha and hojicha latte, and they were excellent, definitely some good quality products being used. Oh, and the silky flan is a must-try, it's smooth and refreshing. Overall, would strongly recommend to stop by this place for a bit if you're in the area.

Cute vegan Japanese cafe owned by Kingyo. Was looking forward to dining in but it's not available currently, had to buy take out or sit in the patio but it was raining that day :( I really enjoyed the curry corn open sando but the wakame rice ball had some sort of floral taste to it that we didn't enjoy. It might've been perilla leaf bits? We also bought their pistachio short bread cookies and they had good pistachio flavour but the texture was harder than expected. I would drop by again next time I'm in the area as they have some good quality stuff here!

Had Tsuchi on my “want to visit” list ever since they opened! Best cheesecake EVER, vegan or not. Had their chocolate orange holiday special and ordered a full sized black sesame cheesecake for my birthday, both were sooo good. Also tried their very yummy curry. Will definitely be back to try the rest of their menu.

Very interesting place that offer Japanese vegan food! Wife and I passed by for a drink after lunch and found this place accidentally, so we only have tummy room for coffee and dessert. Too full to try the savoury menu items.. will try next time! We mainly tried the matcha tiramisu and tasted pretty great to me, creamy and with matcha taste! I wonder what’s in it since it’s vegan! They also sell coffee beans, cookies, Hojicha tea powder, and some Japanese beer and sake! Interesting place. Too bad I live toooo far away or I would visit more often!!

Well I’ll be damned. Tsuchi, you exceeded my expectations! This place is absolutely amazing, and I will be back. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this place, apart from the limited seating, but that’s really minor. The food is to die for, and Tsuchi is doing god’s work for vegans, providing Japanese options that I haven’t seen anywhere in my 9-ish years being vegan. The yuzu citron tart is probably one of the best desserts I’ve ever eaten; it was light, creamy, perfectly-flavoured, well-portioned, and stunning to look at. The katsu sando was also quite good, and the spicy beef curry with rice and karaage is amazing. Generally, the portions here are quite generous. The only thing I had that I don’t feel is worth the money for size is the miso caramel macchiato, which is $7 for a rather small cup. It’s also not quite the visual experience of some of the other drinks, such as the moku moku tiramisu drink (which tastes like a very good sweet cream cold brew from Starbucks). The ambience and decor of this place is so charming and classic. If you can get a seat and you don’t mind the hustle bustle, it’s a great place to do work. If you are vegan or enjoy vegan food, you must go here. I don’t make the rules, you just have to.

My fave cafe! Ambiance is so relaxing, service is incredible (they take the time to explain the different pastries and savoury dishes), and the food and drinks are SO good!! Best part?! No animals are harmed from making their food! Just simply the best vegan cafe in town that shows you it can be done! My faves are the hojicha latte, karaage rice dish (fried chk’n), and hazelnut Mille feuille! 😋🩷

It was my first time visiting Tsuchi and I loved every bit of this place. You wouldn’t believe all of their menus are plant-based because you can’t tell the difference from the taste. Their tiramisu tart goes well with flat white. It was one of the best coffees I’ve had recently. I can’t wait to come back and try other menus! Also, the staffs are the sweetest. There was a lady with short hair, I forgot to ask her name.. but she was very thoughtful and kind. Thank you again for the help with my gifts!

The Kare Pan was so delicious!! It’s rare to see this offered vegan which is so nice :) the coffee is very good too. The atmosphere is wonderful, only a few tables but designed beautifully and great coffee shop music. My boyfriend got the breakfast sandwich and they heated it up for him, it was very good as well. Would come here all the time if I was local!

the rain today didn’t stop me from exploring more cafe. this time around, it led me to Tsuchi Cafe, a spot which has been saved in my ‘want to go’ list for the longest time. I’m surprised to see the interior of this minimalistic cafe. it just speaks japanese in every nook and corner. love the warm lighting that makes the baked goods stand out even more. for a little while, I forgot that this cute cafe is vegan based. they have ‘karaage’ and ‘beef’ curry in their menu. but of course, they’re all soy protein based and they don’t use real meat 🌱 I ended up ordering iced matcha latte and their karepan along with the shokupan to bring home. the iced matcha latte was good at first sip but after the ice cubes melted, the drink got too diluted. wish the matcha is a little bit stronger. however, the karepan was the winner of the day albeit the excess oil. love the texture of the bread and the crust with a burst of warm curry flavour from the inside. Being the sweet tooth that I am, of course I was craving for some dessert after inhaling the karepan within minutes! so, I opted for their signature tiramisu. again, I forgot they don’t use mascarpone cheese, so I’m missing that authentic cheese taste. however, i love their strong espresso ☕️ dipped ladyfingers. i would definitely come back and order more of their menu! this absolutely exceeded my expectation and it definitely set the tone of my day ahead 🌟

The cutest Japanese cafe and everything was vegan! I came right before closing and the staff was super nice and still took my order. I got the matcha latte, yuzu citron tart, and vanilla silky flan. Everything was so tasty! Both inside and outside the store was super aesthetic and I look forward to going back.

Staff was very friendly and offered suggestions! The Tsuchi burger was very savory and the bun soft and fluffy. We ordered a couple of things but the tiramisu and matcha cheesecakes had to be our favorite. Matcha lattes here are also really good, and have to be some of the best I've had.

Finally had the chance to grab a couple treats from this lovely plant based cafe. I tried the matcha latte, kokuto mocha, the karaage, and a slice each of the matcha cheesecake and the dark choco swirl. The standouts were definitely the drinks and the dark choco swirl. The matcha latte had a deliciously strong matcha flavour and both the kokuto (brown sugar I think?) mocha and choco swirl had the perfect amount of chocolately sweetness. The cheesecake was unfortunately a little strange tasting but the texture was cheesecake-esque; I'd probably skip that next time.

Both sweet and savoury pastries here are scrumptious. The Yuzu Citron Tart is light and delicate. The Miso Caramel Bread Pudding has fantastic texture and flavour. The Garlicky Mushroom Flatbread is so comforting. And the list goes on...🤤

Cute spot, a little pricey. No current indoor seating or “for here” cups, but they will take your reusable mug to use! They use hatch coffee beans (very good) and everything is plant based. Carpaccio is $5, flat white $4.50. They have various pastries available, starting at $4.50. Space is modern and they have a little retail space with gifts.

Such an amazing cafe with the best treats I’ve had in a while! My absolutely favourite is the matcha tiramisu but the matcha brownie cake and peach is unreal as well. I live out of the GTA and I always beg friends from the city to deliver this to me!!! I will never stop asking for the tiramisu! 🤤 🍵 🍰

Very cool Japanese vegan café. Beautifully made treats that I’ve never seen plant based elsewhere. The tarts are excellent and the treats aren’t too sweet. Delicious hojicha latte, vibrant matcha and smooth coffee. The staff are lovely, so is the space. The cups and dishes are disposable so BYO to limit waste, you can get a discount for BYO cup. The only place I was able to see shower toilets in real life as well.

I highly recommend the Spicy Nan Tan Noodle – rich flavors and a thick, creamy soup make it a must-try. The Pistachio Matcha Pie is delightful, and the London Fog is one of the best in Toronto. Don't miss the unique Miso Caramel Macchiato. Even though it’s a bit pricy, it’s worth to try. A flavorful experience worth revisiting!

What not to like? My husband and I adore this place ... From food (so delicious) ... to people (they are all so kind) ... to ambience (so laid back and perfect). How much do we love this place? In mid-day of a workday.. We would be like "what's your remaining day look like? Can we leave a little bit early to get to Tsuchi Cafe before they close so we can grab some goodies?" It's public knowledge that their desserts are amazing. Still, I would like to attest to that. As a vegan, I had always find it difficult to find vegan cheesecakes that tasted good. Well, not anymore! And their tiramisu ... It's very tasty! But aside from all these, the products in the refrigerators are fantastic. We are currently hooked on the chef mapo tofu!

Delicious selection of Gluten-free treats. The sesame cheesecake is my favourite (can't recall its actual name). I have celiac disease and these cheesecakes agree very well with me. The establishment is quaint and they currently have a patio open if you with to eat in.

The food here is incredible...every single time. However I have a serious issue that I'm now seeing a therapist for...it's a heavy addiction to their chocolate roll cake...buyer beware...it's as if heaven became chocolate dipped and topped with gold. DROOL...

Amazing! Initially it reminded me of the vegan Japanese food I had in Japan. But it had its own unique flavours and one of the best vegan tiramisu's i've ever had, and very crispy karaage!! I did a pick-up order and it was all fresh and they made sure to make the iced drink when we arrived. Everything was delicious, and I look forward to trying more items next time.

I've had pretty much every item from this place and enjoyed everything, esp the breakfast sandwiches, the cheesecake and the strawberry tart. They have specials every now and then as well. Photos here showed a karepan - only on Fridays and they sell out fast. Also got a slice of mango cheesecake. All plant based, 100% deliciousness. Friendly staff.

This review is for the pop-up at King Blue Hotel (no longer opened). From the cookie, sando, unique lattes to the melonpan, everything was made to perfection. I used to work at a bakery and an familiar with melonpans and this one was made right. Crispy sweet exterior but the interior is moist and soft - beautifully done! Can’t wait to try the actual store one! Definitely recommend Tsuchi for anyone who enjoys Japanese food and the coffee scene.

After checking out various Korean and Japanese cafe in Toronto, this cafe is my number 1. 1. Cozy interior, perfect for chills and gathering 2. Foods are aromatic and display are wonderful. You literally just wanna order everything the cafe provides 3. Staffs are friendly and big smile when they communicate 4. Everything is plant-based and taste fantastic, very instagrammable. Personal favourite 1. Kare pan 2. Pistachio matcha tart Drinks are fair and latte is slightly sweeter than my expected.

1000/10. So good I had to come back two days in a row. I tried the curry which was so delicious, regular tiramisu which was one of the best tiramisu I’ve ever had, their flan which was so so so good, and their amazing miso caramel macchiato. Today, the karaage sandwich - super yummy. Really an explosion of flavour between the two sauces, the matcha tiramisu which was delicious and refreshing, and nibbled on the peach pound cake - very yummy as well. Had to finish off with another miso caramel macchiato. The cafe is beautiful and staff are super kind. A great gem. I will recommend to anyone and everyone

picture honestly shows how excited i am about how good these two cheesecakes were. i don’t remember their full names but i think they were the only two cheesecakes they had for the season. the hojicha latte was amazing too, wish they had a larger size. not too sweet, but flavourful - i love!

The cafe has minimalist design and uses a lot of wood and white which I really like. I got their tiramisu cake and it was pretty delicious. It’s not as rich as the regular tiramisu but it’s really good for vegan option. Would come back here again.
