I'm not a big fan of vegan food and accidentally walked into Eat Nabati and felt compelled to order some food, but when I ate it, I was shocked at how good it was! The falafel and chicken vegan falafel, in particular, are amazing! The eggplant dish is our this world, and the halloumi cheese is amazing! The restaurant is pretty small, but it's decorated with love! I'm impressed, hands down and thank you for opening my mind towards vegan food :)

Falafel was alright, as someone from Turkey, i can confidently say i had better.

The food here is delicious and very unique. The setting indoors is beautiful. Definitely a go-to if you're in the search for some quality vegetarian food.

As an Egyptian, I find Egyptian cuisine tricky to be had at a restaurant. Eat Nabati does a good job though. I enjoyed three meals; Koshary, side of eggplants and mango konafa for dessert. In my humble opinion the koshary may need a little work, but don't disregard it if you've never had it. The eggplant was bang on and eating it with my koshary gave it a good flavour. Special thanks to the owner (and those working there) for my special Egyptian-style tea with fresh mint that went with my super yummy dessert and gave me a taste of being home. If you're looking to explore Egyptian food in the downtown core, Eat Nabati would be your best spot. Otherwise, you may need to trek into the urbs.

THE most INCREDIBLE Egyptian food ever!!! Seriously my mouth waters every time I even see one of their dishes, let alone taste it. The owners are the sweetest people ever, and create a homey, kind space. So many of my friends were shocked after learning it was vegan. Plus it's in one of my favourite communities in the City! LOVE, can't wait to go back.

I'm not even vegan but this spot was amazing. Very satisfied with the "chicken" shawarma dish I got. Give this place a try if you're in the area.

The owner was friendly, and the cashier was flexible and got my order correct : beef shawarma bowl with all salad (instead of lentils/rice). Price was great at $10 before tax. The portion size was generous and I was definitely satisfied with the meal. The vegan "beef" was very comparable to real beef, and was seasoned with a sweet marinade. The interior was well decorated, and there was free wifi for customers. My meal was ready very quickly, <5 mins. I'm very happy that I tried this restaurant, and I high recommend, even if you aren't vegan! Affordable and tasty

One of the things I miss eating since I became vegetarian is Shawarma and I’ve been looking for vegan shawarma for so long, even considered opening my own restaurant since I couldn’t find any but then I stumbled upon this place and I was SO excited, had to go and try it the same day! It was amazing, they got it down to a T that I got scared at one point because the texture was so similar to real meat 😂.

Such delicious and flavourful food! Also worth mentioning the meat substitute has incredible texture, and is marinated to perfection. Loved everything I got (Mama & Baba pitas, halloumi-stuffed falafel, baklava and a millefeuille) and so did my non-vegan family who got the Streets of Cairo kofta plate & pita. Will definitely be ordering from here again!

Ordered with Uber eats buy 1 get 1 free promotion.I do like that it’s vegan but I found it to be bit too salty for my taste. 😖 🫓👎🧂 🧂 🧂🥙

I really wanted to love it and was so excited to try it as an Arab vegan. The zaatar manakeesh was very underdone. The falafel was interesting but very atypical. The shawarma was great and the cauliflower was great!

First off- the chips are absolutely astounding; I've not experienced such flavour with 0 sodium. It has been a blessing to have been made aware of these amazing chippies. With regards to the food, it tastes good; you get a full vegan meal with no shortcuts. I ordered the baba shawarma plate- and it has altered my expectations of what a shawarma meal should be; it's exceptional. Tastes above and beyond- and the pickles stand out and bring it all together. Definitely my now go to place. You guys are great- keep up the good work. Also- shoutout to all the inane reviews woefully crying about the "freshness"; if you order delivery it's going to lose that heat as time transfers it outside of your expectations. Go straight to the source if you want it sizzling from the grill. 10/10 would recommend to anyone vegan in Toronto.

Delicious vegan food that doesn't make you feel like you're missing out--maybe even the opposite. Very friendly and fast service, too. Pictured: stuffed falafel, "kofta" bowl, "shawarma" bowl, hibiscus drinks.

Great vegan place. Had their baba shawarma pita and it was worth it. The fixing, sauce and the soy meat complimented each other very well. I would definitely come back to try their other dishes on the menu.

Fantastic food!! So yummy and the staff were lovely and accommodating. We sat out the front and people watched at Kensington markets. The halloumi stuffed falafel was the best!

Said it to staff and I’ll say it here. Best falafel I’ve bought in Toronto. Get the 12 piece falafel with 4 dips. Other menu items also phenomenal, I’ve had the kofta and cauliflower.

Delicious! Highly recommend the Cairo Kofta, and bowls over pita. The pita is very fluffy too but the rice in the bowl is super tasty.

Went here for the first time with the wife and tried both a mama’s and baba’s shawarma pita. It was absolutely delicious. Great service, atmosphere, and vibes as well. Whether you’re vegan or not, I highly recommend this spot

Delicious vegan Egyptian dishes. The Mama’s Shawarma is recommended. Has good vibes inside, and the chef and the team are kind and smiling. I appreciate the effort to stick to the original Egyptian dishes. For example they serve the fries with zaater, not with ketchup and mayo, in a more Mediterranean way. Ask for extra sauce like the harissa instead. They could have added some teas or more Egyptian drinks to the menu. We couldn’t find something appealing.

While we enjoyed the food at Eat Nabati, there are a few things to note. The prices on the website are different than the prices on the menu in front of the restaurant which are then different from the blackboard inside the restaurant - this was a little frustrating but nonetheless, we still ordered. We got one Egyptian Falafel Pita, one Mama Shawarma Pita and one Stuffed Falafel w/Halloumi. I saw our food being prepared fresh which was really nice. The portions are smaller than standard falafel places but the ingredients are top quality and after 1 pita each, we were really full. Really cute decor and can’t wait to dine in once it opens. All in all, would recommend!

My partner and I had a really nice delivery meal from Uber Eats. I was excited to find this restaurant and it’s BOGO sale as I’ve never really had vegan shawarma before, I’ve always felt like falafel was the only option. It did not disappoint… Overall, a really tasty and new meal for us. It’s a privilege to live in a city that provides options like this! One thing, I was really dumb and thought that the chips were French fries, but they were indeed chips. So now I have like 6 bags of chips - but my partner likes them so everything worked out in the end LOL

saw this place on uber eats with an amazing buy 1 get 1 free sale. i got a wrap and a bowl (that came with w cookies and chips) and ended up getting a free meal for later ($44). the portions were super generous, packaged in durable containers, lots of sauce, the veggies are nice and fresh, and the vegan meat substitute was amazing for both dishes btw the hot sauce is actually spicy. 10/10 will reorder

I am not vegetarian/vegan, and to be honest I usually don't like vegan food. However this place was GREAT, specially for its price range. The food was very tasty! So even if you are not vegetarian, give restaurant place a go. Oh, I saw some people complaining they use plastic forks and knives. Maybe they did that in the past, but they gave me metal forks and knives - which is good. I don't like how this plastic stuff is widespread here in North America!

Eat Nabati, serving wholesome plant based dishes that warms the soul. Healthy options that deliver in full flavour and variety! Always appreciate a restaurant that is able to serve up plant-base food to its full potential! Their Falafel stuffed with halloumi cheese is a must try! Highly recommend this place if you are ever in the area!

We ubered from this place twice , albeit the second experience was better and reviewing the same. Serving Plant based meat options are usually tricky but I think this place has some what found a good mix. Flavors of the items are subtle yet tasty. Food tasted fresh( fresher second order) but portions can take an increment we thought . Preset BOGO offering are good. Mama & Baba’s bowls are good. Beet Tahini tastes yumm. Their falafels ( Egyptian ?) are different than regular ones and tasty . Cauliflower Pita wrap is the best but Falaffel doesnt disappoint either. The Chips & Date cookies taste help ignore a small import duty 😊 . We plan to dine in some time and try the other items and desserts. Good option for non meat eaters to get a guilt free meat like food experience. 😜

Absolutely loved the food, fresh and delicious, Best falafel I have ever had! The sauces that came with falafel were delicious too. I'm not vegan but I gave it a chance to try and it exceeded my expectations. Everything was exceptional and flavorful. I bought - BOGOmenu Baba's Shawarma Plate combo and - Falafel Box I highly recommend it! And detail, I ordered from Uber (buy 1 get 2 promotion) and the dishes were well served.

Nestled in the heart of Kensington Market, Eat Nabati - Plant-based Egyptian Street Food is a sanctuary for authentic and satisfying bites. The charming decor inside and a handful of tables outside create a delightful and calming atmosphere, perfectly complementing the culinary experience. The service echoes friendliness, patience, and genuine helpfulness, exemplified by a staff member's thoughtful act of swatting away pesky bees during my outdoor meal and ensuring my food remained impeccable inside—a gesture that left a lasting and appreciative impact. Egyptian Falafel: Fava Bean Falafel in a Pita Indulge in crunchy, flavorful falafel nestled in a pita, adorned with beet tahini, hummus, lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickled vegetables. The addition of beet tahini provides a unique and delicious twist, making each bite radiate with flavor and freshness. Beef Baba Shawarma: A bowl of authenticity featuring rice, hummus, lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickled vegetables. While not stealing the spotlight like the falafel, it boasts well-cooked rice and an overall commendable balance of flavors and textures. A side of pita would have elevated the experience. I couldn't resist the allure of Eat Nabati and visited twice during my short Toronto stay. If I were a local, I'd embark on a mission to savor the entire menu. Eat Nabati stands as a gem in Kensington Market—a place deserving of revisits. The pricing is reasonable, and its convenient location adds to the overall appeal. *join me on my youtube channel as I explore Toronto's vegan scene, featuring Eat Nabati! subscribe for more delicious plant-based content! https://youtu.be/LdQAZvxuo4g

Great little Vegan spot. My partner is vegan and we love a fully vegan menu because it’s fun and easy to order. The food was great, well priced and quick. Nice staff and very cosy atmosphere. Will be back to try more of the menu. Did I mention it’s 100% vegan! Even if you aren’t vegan or someone that usually avoids vegan places, I highly recommend popping in and giving it a go. Amazing food.

Online order notes: Pros: Quite good flavour, fresh ingredients. Cons: Underwhelming portions for the premium price charged, lots of room in the pita for more food. Who would enjoy this: People with a big food budget who are willing to pay a bit more than market prices for very tasty, smaller sandwiches. Miscellaneous notes: The hot sauce is very good and pretty spicy The cauliflower sandwich has deep fried (not breadrd) cauliflower, not stewed cauliflower The desert squares made from semolina are very yummy The desserts you pay extra for to make a combo are just ok

I had a halloumi stuffed falafel and a falafel bowl. I thought the interior of the place was gorgeous and the price was reasonable for downtown Toronto. Moist and crispy falafel, I think it could use a bit more salt though and there was basically no "halloumi" inside. I put "halloumi" cause in retrospect I remember they're a vegan place so there wouldn't be cheese, but honestly the large falafel is fine without the filling. The falafel bowl I found much worse off. The falafel were smaller so they weren't as moist, and every sauce on the bowl was sesame/tahini based, making the eating experience kinda one note. I'm missing something with a different kind of creaminess that I associated with falafel bowls. I also think the lack of salt is more noticeable here and I really wish I had something acidic as well. The pickled turnips and beets help the cause, but there were like 2 of the turnips and 5 beet cubes. There's also enough of the other veggies to almost consider it a salad, but there's no dressing on it and I don't think there's enough flavour in the rest of the bowl to justify undressed veg being there to cut through richness or add freshness.

A hidden gem!! This place has vegan shawarma and it’s so damn good!!☺️ I ordered the Mamas shawarma wrap without the raw veggies and it was so good, I ordered extra Harissa sauce too! Found them on Ubereats and definitely will be coming back here again!

Quaint little eatery with fantastic food, great team and very friendly service! I have been multiple times and tried almost all of their menu by now! 😅 Most recent i had their cauliflower filling and it blew my mind. One of their staff, Alonso, who is fairly new in the city was very friendly and kind. Highly recommend trying authentic Egyptian which is also cruelty free! 😍

Didnt know I have to add in and pay for extra sauces if I wanted it to look like the pictures from the menu and all the reviews! Or is it possible that the staff forgot to drizzle the sauce on top? It was a bit dry without any sauce on top, but it was still tasty.

My hubby and I had the Baba's Shawarma bowl and the Alexandria's Shroom pita along with 2 stuffed falafels. Every single bite was packed full of flavour and the rice on the bowl had the right amount of spices. It was very filling for a low price, I just wish I had a bigger stomach because I just crave more of this. Also the hibiscus drink was so refreshing and the right amount of sweet.

First time trying a 100% vegan restaurant, so I don't really have too many experiences to compare this one to. But I fully enjoyed the food, ambience, and service at Eat Nabati. The food, surprisingly, surpassed all my expectations. I tried the mama shawarma "chicken" style bowl, which was very delicious and packed with non-vegetarian like flavours. Considering the way the food was cooked and packed, I'd definitely consider revisiting!
