Great Lakes is a MULTICULTURAL school. Its students are mostly from Africa, Middle East and Asia. It's so diverse (a good good thing). This is gonna be your foundation to get adapted to living in such a city like Toronto. I was a student here for grade 12, and just graduated in August 2018. To be honest, this is not a fancy place. Facilities do need to be upgraded (gym, classrooms, study room, dorm, basketball court [i fell once and it scarred so bad because the ground was not even]). However, kitchen staff, officers and teachers are probably the nicest people you'll ever meet. Teachers are highly responsible and helpful. I had so much fun and memorable experience studying in Great Lakes. Mr Tom Tidey (former principal) was one of the best ✨✨. Sure there'll be tons and tons of projects and deadlines, but you can easily avoid them by not taking too many courses per semester. Try to handle everything and keep pushing hard, you'll earn excellent marks and memories. Proud to have met the wonderful teachers and friends here.

My experience here has been absolutely fantastic, at first I was hesitant due to the negative comments, but I realized I’d be doing the wrong thing by not taking a chance to explore their teaching system, I may not be the smartest in studies but the staff here really believed in their students and did whatever they could, even during this pandemic. I have never seen such quick yet smooth transitions from person to person classes, into online classes, believe me it is very very difficult to manage such a huge number of students, and settling them down in this sort of environment. The staff is always, ALWAYS! I repeat ALWAYS! There for you no matter what, every issue has a solution, and they don’t hesitate in helping you, they actually hear out your problems and really try to assist you with any issues that you’re engaged in. The staff members are really supportive in my opinion, never have I faced any sort of issue with the staff. You see, private institutions like this are usually considered to be “money suckers” but trust me, your money is well spent in this school, I am being as honest as I can with you, I am a person who relies on reviews and personal experiences, and I am telling you, my experience was worth it, all my in person classes were amazing and so were my online classes. See for a student to graduate from their school is always their dream, but due to this pandemic.... we couldn’t do much but the school put in the effort to make it up to us, they did all they could, and it can be really hard but they tried their best and they tried to put smiles on our faces. The staff honestly is just amazing, I cannot thank them enough really, I have been so comfortable here, it almost feels like home, yes there are restrictions but as international students, whose parents have left their children under the school’s responsibility, they do have the right in order to maintain our safety. And honestly I really appreciate all the restrictions and precautions they took through out this whole Time, if it weren’t for their hard work I don’t think any of us would have survived the pandemic issues, because it’s really difficult to handle such huge groups of students and still maintaining their health and security, even during the hardest times. I really am thankful for their support and their way of doing things, I sincerely appreciate it.

I'm glad to write a review. The GLCT was my very first school when I moved to Canada for study in 1996. Still vividly remember the faculties, the cafeteria(wonder if it's still there), the dorm(the room #1 was where I lived) and friends! I made such great memories. Hope to revisit someday :)

Great Lakes College of Toronto is a great way to prepare for university if you are an international student. They have all the resources to get you prepared! I just graduated from one of the top 5 universities in Canada and just remembered GLCT and how it paved the way for me! They took all the extra steps of getting me settled like getting a bank account and exploring the country. Shoutout Lisa Wang (not sure if she still works there) :) and Jessica!!

Very good teaching, lovely staff. I've been in Great Lakes for about 7 months and it truly has been a wonderful experience. The learning here transcends the conventional classroom experience. You come in as a student, but leave as a member of a community - a family of like minded people who are committed to your growth.

I am very pleased with the high quality of The Great Lakes College of Toronto, the dedication of the teachers and faculty and the willingness of the school to go beyond duty to support & guide students to success. Thank you for such positive impact on my son. Now I know why it is hugely popular in my country, Nigeria.

Overall, GLCT is an amazing international boarding Coed Private High school in Toronto, good faith foundation, loving environment. Flexible Program Entry Dates: 5 Intake per school year, September, November, January, April, based on the student’s visa application status, is top notch and unique intakes among the Canadian High schools. Their straight forward “Personalized Education Program” enable the students to prepare for and enter the University of their Choice is really attractive for international students. Honestly, the leadership is really in tune to the pulse of the school and the teachers are truly qualified and experienced and all the staff are friendly and cooperative. As a parent who has enrolled my son in Grade 12 at this nice private high school, I would definitely recommend.

The Great Lakes College of Toronto is a great school to bring your child to. During the pandemic, The staffs of the school have really tried in bringing great experience in teaching and learning in the online classes. All the teachers are really caring and help you in any problems a student might have in their various courses. The principal sends encouraging emails to all students ensuring them that she and the staffs are always here in case we have any problem in anything(academic and nonacademic). In conclusion, The Great Lakes College of Toronto has been helpful especially during this pandemic and has always find a way to protect their students from the virus in any way possible.

Going to Great lakes college of Toronto is the best decision I made since coming to Canada. As an international student, I got really concerned about the different system of education in Canada from my country, but Great lakes bridged that gap and taught me much more than I expected to learn. The teachers are friendly, approachable and proficient in their respective fields. There are also lots of fun activities like trips, treasure haunts, food contests, international day that celebrates the schools diversity and so much more. The staff try their best to give you the best, that's what makes Great lakes special.

Served well for my daughter's onboarding to the Canadian System of education and got her ready for university. The staff, right from the admissions officer to the subject teachers and administrative staff were quite helpful and provided mentorship guidance to my ward. Gracias
