It is a very beautiful place for a picnic and relaxing and daylong activities. Water is very clean and perfect for kayaking in summer. They also have some adventurous trail. Boating pricing is decent. You also need day pass per person while entering the conservation area.

It is a really nice spot picnic spot. They rent kayaks and canoes, so you can paddle on a calm lake. There's a simple path for hiking that's not hard, and you can see a small waterfall too. They have a lot of grassy space where you can have a picnic, and they even let you cook on a BBQ. They also have plenty of trees and benches where you can sit and rest. I think it's a great place if you want to have a fun day outside with easy things to do and nice views.

Went camping for the first time to Guelph Lake Conservation and it was huge park. The camping site was large and had a fire pit and picnic table with trees for shade. There are good size beaches which do get busy on the weekends. Lots of hiking trails, childrens playground, boat launches, perfect lake for kayaking and fishing. The washrooms were ok but could be better. There is also a water dam to walk to and look at. Firewood was a good price and nice and dry.

One of the best places in ontario or GTA is to go with friends and family to have a lake view and great picnic place. There is an entry ticket to the park for an adult for $7.08, kifs 4 to 14 $3, and seniors pay $5, 65, and above. You can take your pets with leash on. Either you take you BBQ or use one of them provided there. There is a garbage bag also provided there with sort of station all over the place. Wash rooms are very clean, and the janitors clean every now and then. Must try at least once

This is a large park suitable both for camping and day use. The hiking trail that we used (the Red trail) was not difficult, but not too challenging either for the enthusiastic camper. The showers and toilets were well maintained, and the campgrounds ( we hired an electrical one) were well serviced with water and electrical outlets. This camp is suitable for those with camper vans and fifth wheels. We would have liked to see dishwashing stations to encourage people to reduce waste. The reservoir and dam areas have 2 beaches. The water was very suitable for swimming and looked much cleaner than Lake Ontario, where we visit often. We hired a 2-person kayak from the Grand River Rafting company, and for a very reasonable fee that included life-jackets, we were able to enjoy paddling around the reservoir for an hour. It was a very enjoyable time, and just an hour from Mississauga.

Guelph Lake Conservation Area is a hidden gem! I love spending time here with family and friends. The lake is beautiful, and the surrounding nature is simply breathtaking. We enjoyed swimming in the clean and refreshing lake, and the sandy beach was great for sunbathing and building sandcastles. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the facilities are well-maintained. It's a perfect getaway for outdoor enthusiasts, and I highly recommend visiting this serene and picturesque conservation area.

Been here only once, its pretty busy being so close to Guelph and Kitchener-Waterloo. However the swimming is pretty good and its a fairly large man made lake. There is overnight camping here with similar booking rules to Provincial Parks.

Guelph Lake Conservation Area is an amazing place to come and enjoy nature with your family. My wife, son and I love to come here. Is very relaxing to be in contact with nature and enjoy their wonderful views. They have a nice small playground that my son loves to play in it. We feel safe being at the Guelph Lake Conservation Area. Is a very nice place to book and to stay camping. Their installations/facilities are great and very clean. Their staff are very polite and helpful. Fully recommended 😉😁😎🤟🏻🍁🇨🇦

We went there on a whim!! But the place was incredible. First of all the charge for a day is $8 per person which is good. Plus they already have started kayak rides there. And because the lake is way big than laurel or shade's mills, it's really good to just stay in the middle of the lake in kayak with you legs in the cold water. Such a wonderful experience, a place for a getaway.

Nice big park/conservation area. There is camping (tent and RV) available. The lake is pretty big with plenty of fish. However, the only reason I have it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the water seemed quite murky and greasy (from the algae perhaps?)

This conservation area has a lot to offer year round. Of course really covid has interfered with its capacity and events being cancelled. The park is kept very clean. You can fish there as long as you have a legitimate license and the park is dog friendly but definitely requires a leash and the clean up after them. Stage can provide for a really great outdoor concert. The beaches are also clean.

Liked the beach and the water. The main beach is good to enjoy your free time and also do some fun water sports. We did kayaking and it really was hard to get to the beach fighting the strong current! A must go place for newcomers in Guelph. N.B. no lifeguards are there, so stay safe if you do not know swimming.

I love this place. I spent all day yesterday, just swimming and relaxing under big shadey trees. You can swim or just lazy around the lake. Lots of picnic tables and braaing stands, just bring your Charcoal. Take a walk around the trails and one leads to a beautiful lookout. A perfect place to bring your family, there's something for everyone

It's always a wonderful time to be had at Guelph Lake. You can rent canoes and kayaks, or bring your own, sit at the beach and enjoy the breeze off the 'lake'. It's a very family friendly location. There are washrooms on site and there is usually sufficient parking if you come early. This is a non motorized 'Lake' but you will on occasion see the fire department or OPP boats out patrolling. The cost is very reasonable, but I recommend purchasing one of the Grand River Park passes so you can enjoy all the parks in the area

A natural place with an extreme level of peace and serenity. Lot of camps are available for renting out and specific barbecue, parking stations are made for each camp. The ample amount of apple trees are around the trail. Fishing is allowed and good to relax hectic minds. Beaches are man made and wave/water doesn't hit the shores. It gives a foul smell of the pond sometimes as water doesn't have flow

The beaches are absolutely covered in bird poop, so no laying on/playing in the sand. Some of the campsites are pretty pathetic too, especially the "parkside" area. It's just an open field with a few trees, NO privacy whatsoever. 3 sites share the same electric box/water tap, so if you're in the middle, people will be walking through your campsite regularly. The only good thing I can say about this place is that the bathrooms are decently clean, and there is a fair amount of wildlife, we saw chipmunks, a family of groundhogs, and a skunk all in one day. We could also hear coyotes

Great place for family fun. Lovely water surrounded by green.. with enough benches and clean washrooms. Per car entry fee was reasonable too.

Beautiful hidden jewel in Guelph. Been living here for so many years and finally trekked out and enjoyed the evening with the wife. Beautiful beach with charcoal BBQ to be used by anyone. Water is beautiful and it's nice to have a sand beach so close by. One star removed as there were a LOT of seagulls. As soon as we opened up our picnic basket they flew near our table waiting for us to feed them....which we didn't. So I assume they're accustomed to people leaving food lying around....or feeding them....but there should be signs to smarten up the people and advise them to properly clean up after themselves and not to feed the pigeons. Other than that....great day and I look forward to visiting again!

I like the little privacy we had with our campsite. We didn't really do much since it was raining but overall. It's a good place to chill out go camping. So much things to explore. Definitely want to visit again.

Totally blissful. You can come here to spend a nice summer day with family or just by yourself. We had a great time at the beach. I sat and read my book while enjoying the view and watching everyone enjoying themselves.

It was a windy, off-season afternoon. After eating lunch on a picnic table by the lake I went off exploring trails for a couple hours. I was on old paved sections for too long before getting into wooded areas. The fall colours were beautiful. Overall I enjoyed navigating new trails for the first time but think I like the trails at Laurel Creek better.

Great campground. Big sites. Only thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars is. The services for some sites are quite a distance away. Make sure you have lots of water hose and electric cable. There's no wifi and the cell coverage is very limited which really isn't a problem. Without those distractions you spend more time enjoying your time!!

Scenic conservation area and beach. 3 stars for being inaccessible (both picnic and beach areas). Unacceptable. Main beach is shallow for quiet a distance, making it ideal for little kids. Walk from grassy area to beach is short. Lake water is fairly clean at the main beach. Kayak/Canoe rentals are available however there is no separate entry/exit point, it is shared with the main beach. Unfortunately this means lots of kayaks around the water entrance where people and kids are. We had a pair of grown adults in ankle deep water asking us to "please move out of the way" as they were about to collide with me and my disabled child, I had to jolt them to reality by saying no I am unable to as my son is disabled. They quickly apologized and got out of the kayak to park it. Parking is ample.

I have been coming to this lake for a couple years now. Clean and well maintained. It's best if you get there early so you get a nice spot. Yes you can barbeque (BBQ) you can bring your own or there are a couple stationary. Great for family fun day.

Waited forever to pay. Staff was young, polite and I guess went through everything as quickly as possible, but so many questions! They knew I was part of a large group so surely some of it could have been taken care of in advance. Again, they were polite and perfectly nice, it just took almost 30 minutes to park, wait and pay. When I left the park, I could display my pass and they waved me through without stopping - thanks! Overall, park was nice. Our area was NOT ready for us for several hours, inducing stress for our organizer. It was reasonably clean. We had porta potties on our site, and I was grateful. I was shocked by the volume of people who visited for day activities. I guess that's a good thing, and if I want fewer people I'll travel father from town. I'll return if invited.

We (two adults) went to Guelph Lake on a Sunday afternoon for a picnic and paddleboarding. We picnics by the day use beach which had lots of tables with a good view of the water. There were some larger groups but no rowdies. Some issues with wasps but that is to be expected this time of year. We moved to the campground side to put in our boards and the beach there was deserted. AS we paddled around, it felt (and smelled) at times like we were in a bird sanctuary. The water seemed low and you can see old roads and tree stumps in the water. It was a nice change of scenery fairly close to home. I would definitely consider going back for camping.

Good conservation area. Huge beach area. Large lake which allows motor boats in some areas so large wakes when kayaking at some points. Beach gets busy fast most days in the summer so you should get there early. Beach is well groomed but tons of geese and seagulls so the beach can get covered in what they leave behind.
