Pharmacy was one of the best establishments I have ever been to and experienced! Tucked away in Parkdale, Pharmacy gives off a weird vibe and encompasses a vampire like experience. The vibe is that they only accept cash at the moment and they don't accept credit or debit cards. For safe keeping, I think that's a good thing. The other thing I noticed when I went to Pharmacy, all of the lights were shut off and candles were all over the place. I am not sure if there was a sacrificial lamb taking place that evening when I went, but it sure was cozy and scary cool. The atmosphere of the place was that of a neighborhood spot as someone felt comfortable to peek over my shoulder, perhaps to strike a conversation. Not something you'd expect from a person at other places. I didn't have cash on me at the time so I had to use the ATM in the bar which was extremely convenient as I didn't have to venture out to find somewhere to get cash. To be sure, I will go back to this bar again. I am so glad that it was able to survive the pandemic and continues to cater to what the neighbourhood wants and needs. I highly recommend this place! xoxo

I am not even sure how this bar is still open and it survived during the pandemic. Anyways, I highly recommend not to go to this bar and highly recommend that I will never go back.

Don't know how to describe it, really. This is a chill bar with chill people. No frills. Great staff. Owner is a good conversationalist and very knowledgeable about the beers sold. Good for being a barfly and just listening to others. Some would call it a dive. Some consider it an industry bar. I personally love it.

One of the best beer bars in the city, tucked away in a neat little corner in Parkdale. Great selections of great local (and beyond) beer at solid prices. Liquor list is also great and has an overall comfortable atmosphere. Liberty Village and other 905 trash tend to think the service is rude or somehow bad but that's because they're used to service workers bending over backwards and taking the abuse. Not that the service is rude or bad mind you, there's just no space for fluff here. Pharmacy is unapologetic in what it is and it won't compromise its own dignity for outsiders. In short: great beer, great atmosphere, great staff, great music, great people. One of the neighborhood gems.

Went in here on Sunday night with some friends, this was before closing time.. we’d just wanted to get some drinks to go.. the guy who worked there (‘Brodie’, not sure if that’s even his real name) told us he wouldn’t serve us ( I guess due to closing, and maybe cause we looked young but we all had our id) we argued it was before closing time, than he asks us what we wanted and asked to see our id, he than said he only took cash and appointed us to the ATM in the bar, we went to the ATM and minutes later he told us he wasn’t gonna serve us, which didn’t sit well with us, only cause he was being very indecisive about weather he would serve us or not , like why tell us he only took cash than appoints us to the ATM only to say again he wasn’t gonna serve us afterward? I’m sorry but it just doesn’t make sense.. he also said he didn’t care about getting bad reviews.. all in all very ignorant and no way to treat potential customers.. and who wouldn’t want to make more money?

Best local spot on the west end. Always great music, chill atmosphere. One time the bartender got some free Craigs Cookies and handed em out, best time.

Chris is a champ. Want a beer tailored to your tastes, ask him...he’ll make sure you’re good. Want a fancy “crafted cocktail” made by a dude in a denim or leather apron, this is not your place. Great music, a knowledgeable bartender/owner that cares about his patrons (unless you’re a douche nozzle). Randomly doesn’t charge me for drinks !?!

I'm secure in my feelings about this place. It has the perfect amount of lighting. This is just my opinion though please don't take this the wrong way.

First, let me say the food here is excellent. The pretzels the owner leaves out are nicely salted and presented in an unpretentious fashion. Also, I appreciate the near pitch black lighting as the owner is clearly an environmentalist who is cutting down on his bar's carbon footprint. Highly recommend.

Great tunes. Good place to just relax and have a beer after work. Friendly customers. But also a place you can just zone out and mind your business. Dog friendly. Which is pretty rad.

Went here last night. First time going and it was great. It's a small quaint bar and the bartender made a suggestion of a beer and it was delicious. Service was prompt and the bartender checked in during my time there. Prices were pristine! I definitely recommend this place to sit and vibe to the music and enjoy great laughs and great drinks. Cheers!

Bartender was really rude, drinks absolutely sucked and the whole experience really made us regret our 7 minute walk.

the employees have always been very attentive and kind... But the prices on the cans of beer are next to ridiculous. I work queen east in the beaches and will buy 2 cans of Woodhouse lager at one of the local bars in the beaches for take-away alcohol costing $4 a can. though Pharmacy, even with being ALOT more closer to Woodhouse brewery in the west end.. charges $8 per can. It really confuses me. but as a server who works full shifts and at the end of the night, wants to have 1 or 2 drinks... I can SOMETIMES justify buying 1 maybe 2 cans for $8 each. But with that price... I can't make it a regular thing. So only being honest when I say they are most expensive cans of beer I have seen anywhere in the city... Both short cans and tall. But like I said before... The employees have always been amazing! 🙏

I’d leave a 0 star review if I could. The drinks were disgusting, and the bartender was beyond rude. Probably not worth your time, much better establishments to go to.

I am a very wealthy landowner who owns top shelf running shoes and lives the life of a rockstar from my Liberty Village condo abode. And I must comment on the handsomeness and professionality of this bars owner. His ability to Provide me with my libations is second to none. I heard the Grateful Dead playing The bartender Dude had on a Box Of Rain t-shirt And the grotesquely famous PAINSLUT Was sitting at the bar I poured 2 pints of black gold Down my tunneled throat All while admiration for 3 beautiful women Transpired from atop of my Drunkards stool If there was ever a setting needed in our Fine city of smokey hogtown blues The resemblance of a Charles Bukowski Ambiance would be uncannily similar I believe I've found my new watering hole Amen to that

Literally the best hole in the wall in the city. The owner is so lovely and knowledgeable and always will have you try something you would never think of. If I could live here, I would. <3

The excellent bartenders know exactly how to pour a proper pint of Guinness, no one bothers you if you don’t want to be bothered, and people are treated with equal kindness no matter what.

👍 Good food as always! Convenient. Kids friendly. One star less because in the men’s washrooms there is no arrangement for baby diapers change. I managed it somehow but for a single dad with baby it is not convenient. I hope management would put up something to resolve it. Thank you.
