We happened upon this place by chance and are so glad we did. The staff were extremely friendly and the atmosphere was bright and beautiful. Ethiopian paintings and textiles line the walls. The food was INCREDIBLE!! There is an amazing variety with such fantastic flavours! The staff recommended a couple things and they definitely steered us right!! We will be back again for sure!

Fantastic experience! We had 2 veggie combos (on one shared plate) and they were delicious and very filling. The ambiance and decoration in the restaurant were lovely. The staff was very welcoming and kind. This is definitely my new go-to for Ethiopian food! I'll be recommending this place to my friends and family!

This is a delicious addition to the vegan choices in the city’s restaurant scene. Ethiopian delights galore. Service is full of charm and patience. Drinks are reasonable and the food is too good! Too good because you have to be careful with the generous portions. I can’t wait to go back felt right at home.

The food was delicious and warm. Had a veggie platter and potato salad, both of which were amazing. The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance, with local art all displayed all over. The staff is pleasant and service was top notch. Do have their local coffee at the end of your meal.

My party of five came here on a Friday evening as a walk-in. It was busy but we were seated and served right away. The service was so warm. They noticed we were celebrating birthdays and brought out sparklers and bubbly as a surprise. The art and decor in the space are incredible. It feels very homey. Lastly the food and the coffee ceremony were great. I’d recommend sharing a platter because there is so much variety in the curries so there’s something for everyone.

Loved everything we tried! First time here and we all enjoyed the flavourful and spiced vegan dishes. We ordered the vegetarian combo, which was large enough to satisfy three of us. The hummus (made with chickpeas and tahini) was the best hummus I've had! Wish I could buy a jar of it. The Tofu Zigni was packed with so much spices and flavour that every mouthful was an experience of its own. I got the tofu spicy with berbere sauce-it packs quite a punch so if you like spicy definitely go for that! The coffee ceremony was a nice way to end our early dinner. The incense was a nice touch though a bit strong for me. There was plenty of coffee for 5 of us even though we ordered for 4. Comes with fresh popcorn as well. The service was impeccable and the decor was cozy and culturally relevant. There's parking on the street and it's accessible by TTC. They also have another restaurant called Rendezvous if you'd prefer meat options. Otherwise, delicious vegetarian / vegan restaurant, we'll be back 🥕✨

I just had a fantastic meal here with my wife! I have had many Ethiopian meals, and by far, La Vegan was the absolute best that I have ever had! We went with the Variety Platter with the Mushroom Tibbs. I highly recommend stopping by.

One of the best vegan restaurants I've been to in town... It's about the ambience and the experience. We were looking for a place to celebrate my dad's birthday, and they gave us an above and beyond experience. Their veggie platter was full of flavors. Their coffee ceremony with frankincense and freshly roasted Ethiopian green coffee beans is really charming. The hosts are really kind and brought out sparklers and their special spiced tea for us at the end! I will definitely be back for more!

Truly exceptional vegan Ethiopian cuisine! The food was absolutely delicious and everyone at the restaurant was friendly and welcoming. I always love Ethiopian cuisine, and even though I've never had any trouble getting a vegan meal at any Ethiopian restaurant, I was very happy to get to try an all-vegan Ethiopian restaurant. La Vegan exceeded every single one of my expectations. We ordered the veggie combo, and every single dish was incredibly delicious. I can't get over the variety! There were far more dishes than I had imagined, including all of the dishes I would have expected and many more that I'd never had the opportunity to try before. Each dish was very distinctive. I don't think I could pick a favourite dish, but I definitely want to eat every single one of them again.

The atmosphere is the first thing that struck us here. The decor is so beautifully put together - it’s colourful and cozy and inviting. Perfect for a group dinner or date night. Our server was so kind and helped us with some menu questions. We shared the platter for 2 and added a mushroom dish - and our party of three left completely stuffed. The food is so flavourful I can’t get enough. Definitely give it a try you won’t be disappointed.

La Vegan Ethiopian & Eritrean Vegan Cuisine is an absolute gem! The food is out of this world delicious, with amazing flavor combinations that leave a lasting impression. We had an incredible lentil spinach salad, delicious hammas, shiro wot, tikilgomen and the mushroom tins were to die for! The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, always ensuring a great experience. The owner is very nice and creates a warm atmosphere. The decor is fantastic, adding to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. I highly recommend La Vegan for anyone looking for a tasty and unforgettable meal. Went with the family and we all enjoyed our meals tremendously! Can’t wait to go back for another incredible meal!

Today my friends and I came to this restaurant. It was our first time and someone recommended it. The decorations and the color of the room was so beautiful. The food was amazing and we had a great time. The owner and the workers were so welcoming and kind,we will definitely be coming again.

Stumbled upon La Vegan when we needed a late night eat on my partner's birthday. Such a wonderful place with amazing Ethiopian food. We split a La Vegan Plate and loved the variety. It was so much food and very reasonably priced. $25 for a single portion and $45 to share a La Vegan Plate. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

The food was amazing, we took the La Vegan Veggie Combo dish which includes many small portions of many dishes in the menu, which is a great way to taste everything. I have to say every single item was very tasty and the whole meal was huge. Additionally, we took the traditional coffee with the ceremony, which was a great experience. I highly recommend this place, will definitely go again!

The best place in town to get ethiopian food Kudos for being an all vegan place for people like me :) The ambience is so goood and the food is absolutely delicious! The service was exceptional. I believe the person’s name was Betty? May be spelling it incorrectly but she was very kind and let us sit in even though they were about to close!

Eating at La Vegan is easily one of my top tier dining experiences of 2023. IT IS NOT A FANCY RESTAURANT. It’s design is stylishly grounded; the staff are warm, attentive and skilled; the food is delectable authentic Ethiopian cuisine done to its best for very reasonable prices. Words can’t even describe the smell of this place.. combine that with the music, decore and food… your 5 sense will be overly delighted Best to go with your friends/family because y’all will make memories here. This place is criminally under-patronized so grab the people you love and come to this restaurant.

We came here to celebrate Halloween as a family. My mom is vegan and she was happy she could taste my food for once. We got the vegan platter and a kale salad plus spiced tea latte and a mango drink. It was all very delicious and tasty. The platter had a lot of samples of all the items. If you want to try Ethiopian food I suggest this place highly.

Clean and ambiance filled resto! Friendly and fast service. We do agree with other's comments on cold food tho, it is delicious and offer loads of dishes for great prices, but they need to be mindful of temperature if they want to succeed. Wishing them the very best and hope they see this review so they can kick butt moving forward :)

Such an incredible vibe at this restaurant with incredible tasting food too. Went off peak hours so it was quiet. The food was INCREDIBLE and we’re now adding this as an every time visit when we go to Toronto (from Markham)

Not being awfully familiar with Ethiopian food, we wanted to try something new and were pleasantly surprised to find a completely vegan Ethiopian restaurant! We ordered two starters and a shared platter for 2 (to try a little bit of everything, great choice!), and the amount of food we received was so overwhelming that we ate ourselves into a food coma and still had to take most of the starters home with us! Everything was delicious, the waitress for friendly and competent, the interior of the restaurant is quite beautiful, moreso than most restaurants I've been to, and it was one of my top 5 restaurant visits of 2023! Wholeheartedly recommended!

I’m not vegan or vegetarian as I’m sure a lot of people who have reviewed the place aren’t either, but I was stopping through Toronto around Danforth and felt like grabbing some Ethiopian, which I think I’ve only had one other time. I ended up having the mushroom dish that the server recommended to me and it was phenomenal. Totally blew my mind. The ambience was beautiful, with a live performer playing they keyboard. Great experience.

I need to go with someone that knows the food so they can order for me. We had a great time but because we didn't know what to order what we ordered was tasty just didn't hit the spot. We had the combo special for 25 dollars.

Beautifully decorated place, very colorful and comfortable. The food is great, I would have had more pictures if we weren't so excited to try all of the dishes. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and presentation of the dishes and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Will be returning soon and when I do I'll try to not devour everything before posting a few more pics!

The most beautiful experience, went for my brother’s birthday and to treat him special I chose this vegan restaurant and it didn’t disappoint me. We ordered Azifa, Pasta with pesto sauce and Veggie Combo with Cappuccino and Spiced Latte, each item was best in it’s own way. The girl who served us was very generous, and nice, she gave the best service one could ask for. Thank you for the best experience.

Never could imagine that a place serving vegan Ethiopian and Eritrean food could be such a good experience of dining out. The place was not crowded, although it is a reasonably large facility. The cocktails and food dishes, including the salads were so tasty and yummy that we all over ate a bit. If you haven't tried this cuisine or don't enjoy it, I would strongly recommend to visit La Vegan once and you will become fan of it, your experience and opinion will change for sure. Glad that we had been there. 👍👌😋

Where do i start!! What a beautiful place to dine n chill out!! In love with the ambience n food is super tasty. We had ordered a veggie combo platter. As tasty as it looked beautiful. Delicious meal here! We had the veggie platter shared between two people with the mushroom side and it was such a delight. Incredibly filling and flavourful. The injera was also great! Highly recommend this place (and service is great)! The atmosphere in the restaurant is also calming and it smells like incense.

I just love the decor and the ambience at this restaurant. The owner welcomed us by circulating roasted coffee. It was quite unique. The aroma of the coffee gave a luxious feel. The food was delicious!!! The food was midly spiced and sour with a tinge of bitterness.
