I
came
here
after
seeing
a
friends
post
about
Osteria
Du
closing
on
September
30th
and
wanted
to
give
it
a
try.
Osteria
Du
is
a
vegan
Italian
restaurant
with
4
course
meals
for
$50
from
Wednesday
and
Thursday
and
$60
for
Friday,
Saturday
and
Sunday.
Reservations
are
done
online
and
it
was
pretty
easy
process
however
you
need
to
leave
your
credit
card
info.
If
you
don’t
show
up
they’ll
charge
a
$25
fee
per
person
that’s
reserved.
The
restaurant
looks
pretty
nice
and
aesthetic.
It
looked
great
to
go
on
a
date
to.
I
came
on
time
and
my
party
was
a
bit
late
(~30
minutes).
The
servers
were
pretty
nice
and
accommodating
and
I
didn’t
feel
pressure
while
waiting.
We
initially
wanted
to
get
the
course
meals
since
it
came
with
an
appetizer,
shareable
pizza,
pasta
and
dessert.
However
a
lot
of
the
menu
items
contain
alcohol
when
used.
We
just
got
the
food
a
la
carte
and
it
actually
ended
up
being
cheaper
than
if
we
had
to
get
the
set
meal.
There
were
actually
some
mix
ups
though,
we
were
made
aware
that
the
garlic
knots
is
cooked
with
alcohol.
My
party
wasn’t
able
to
consume
it
other
than
myself
,
so
we
just
decided
to
keep
one
order.
Osteria
Du
was
generous
and
comped
it
for
us.
For
the
meal
we
ordered:
•Mushroom
ravioli
mushrooms,
cauliflower
and
truffle
paste
stuffed
raviolis,
topped
with
butter
sauce,
mushroom
and
truffle
oil
This
was
so
good!
I
love
truffle
oil
and
I
can
taste
it
here.
•Garlic
knots
Topped
with
almond
Parmesan
served
with
house
made
marinara
sauce
This
was
okay,
I
honestly
didn’t
taste
any
alcohol
in
it
and
the
almond
Parmesan
didn’t
taste
artificial.
•Fritto
fungi
Lightly
battered
and
fried
oyster
mushrooms,
chili
pepper,
served
with
pesto
souce
This
was
so
good!
It’s
thick
and
reminds
me
of
chicken
tenders.
It
was
also
very
flavourful
and
you
can’t
tell
it’s
mushrooms
at
all.
•Caesar
Deluxe
romaine
lettuce
and
kale,
with
croutons.
tomatoes,
pickled
onions,
and
almond
Parmesan.
served
with
caesar
dressing
I
usually
don’t
like
to
order
salad
when
I
go
out
but
this
one
was
so
good.
Again,
the
almond
Parmesan
tasted
just
like
regular
Parmesan.
Usually
dairy/vegan
cheese
has
a
distinct
taste.
•Ricotta
affumicato
spicy
marzana
tomato
sauce,
cherry
tomatoes,
smoked
ricotta
cheese,
pesto
topped
with
arugula
and
drizzled
lightly
with
olive
oil
This
one
was
just
okay.
•Mango
Melanzone
spicy
mango
and
cashew
base,
with
grilled
eggplant,
cashew
crema,
romesco
sauce
and
arugula
I
loved
this
pizza
the
most!
There’s
so
many
flavours
and
spice.
However
it
might
throw
you
off
if
you
don’t
like
eggplants.
•forence
pesto
souce,
oyster
mushrooms
and
fresh
white
mushrooms,
roosted
grape
tomatoes,
cultured
cashew
almond
ricotta,
pickled
shollots,
truffle
oil
This
one
was
2nd
after
the
mango
pizza:
I
like
the
light
touch
of
the
truffle
oil.
Overall,
Osteria
du
was
a
great
place
to
visit
and
try.
It
sucks
to
hear
that
they’re
closing,
but
hopefully
they
open
again
one
day.
