Best Mexican restaurant in Redondo Beach. The food and service was excellent. We are going to make this our go to spot now. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

A totally clasic unique experience...a well curated, historical "California Beach Culture" Museum and excellent restaurant...all-in-one. Worth your time to drive to beautiful world class Redondo Beach. Make it a Wonderful Winter mini-vacation-for-the-day and bring your date or family...you won't regret it! As a matter of fact, you will never forget it! Food is excellent, starting with the guacamole...fresh and not over-prepared. They let the wonderful avocado taste shine through. Fish tacos? Perfection!!! Even the fried (by the Manager, Martine's suggestion...he should know...he has championed this establishment for over 20 years.) The lobster quesadillas are not skimpy on the lobster. You get what you pay for. Every detail has been well thought out...down to the passion fruit iced tea. Full bar...everything! Liquor...wine and beer in vast selections. Mood is set with tunes from great vintage tapes. Happiness: sound...sight...smell and taste...all here in spades! A reservation is probably a good idea as there can be long lines...they're that good. One of my top 10!

This is a good place to sit on the patio in the evening for drinks and get out of the bright sun. The food was visually pleasing but a little disappointing. Not that favorable, but still ok. I am from Texas though and our Mexican/seafood dishes can't be beat. The sitting areas both inside and on the patio are a bit close which in my opinion makes you feel crowded. The service was friendly and quick.

I came here after a day at the beach and ordered a drink they brought out chips and salsa which were incredible. And it took a bit to pick something off the menu as they had many great options I wound up getting the baja tacos with rice and slaw. And I was satisfied with my choice the tacos were amazing and just like the rice it was cooked to perfection. It was honestly like a home cooked meal. The patio has an amazing atmosphere and the staff are so friendly. I'm glad I wound up in Redondo Beach during my travels or I'd never found this place. I recommend anyone who passes by to stop in and try it out. Thank you for the amazing experience.

Fajita Tostadas, highly recommended, they are generous with the meat, and the vegetables are quite tasty. Chips are fresh, salsa is excellent, service is quick, frankly, is be making this home away from home.

Fantastic Mexican restaurant! And I thought I wasn’t going to find a great Mexican place in the south bay...Voila! The staff are very friendly and funny. The food was fantastic and had really good quality. Crab Enchilada and Chicken Quesadillas were so good. Loved their chips. Next time will try the Guac and Margs. Lots of outdoor seating for Covid and now that indoor is back open, the booths are far from each other. The bar inside was good and bartender was funny. Parking might be an issue but the streets nearby have plenty of parking. Highly recommend.

This was our first time coming to the Riviera Mexican grill in Palos Verdes. The food was excellent! We particularly enjoyed the lobster taquitos. The carnitas and chili Colorado are absolutely on point as well. And if you're looking for a unique spin on a strawberry margarita, I strongly recommend the hand muddled strawberry basil. Margarita. Fantastically refreshing!! Now let's get to our phenomenal server! Tori. She was the epitome of phenomenal customer service. She was funny, she had great recommendations, and was always full of wit and smiles. Not only was Tori great, but we were there to celebrate my daughter-in-law's birthday. The entire birthday entourage was exceptional. They brought the best churro birthday cake arrangement ever, complete with fireworks, a sombrero of course and phenomenal singing. A truly enjoyable experience from start to finish. Thanks guys. You set the bar high.

The food here is amazing, and the staff are super friendly... you can tell a great restaurant by the cleanliness of their bathroom.. And this bathroom was spotless. The only thing I would suggest is freshen up the interior a little... ripped booths, fresh coat of paint. But the chips and salsa were great along with the beef taco and chicken enchilada. I will go back next time I'm in LA

Consistently great Mexican Food. Full Bar. Nice outdoor patio. Service is friendly and helpful. It gets very crowded in the evenings so plan ahead. I think they will reserve tables for large parties, but I have never tried.

Love this slightly westernized Mexican Restaurant. My favorite is the kitschy decor and dolphin statue that doubles as a candy holder for starburst. I saw a waiter Grab all the pink starburst and laughed when I realized he was grabbing them for some children at another table. I found it thoughtful that he did that for those kids. I had the Skirt Steak and thoroughly enjoyed it as it wasn’t over cooked and it was well seasoned. It came with a side of rice and tortillas. Well seasoned and great portions.

We have been loyal customers for over 20 years. Since returning to dine in service we have noticed a steady decline in the quality of the meals. Last night it hit a new low. Instead of finding the dshes prepared in their customary style the chef decided to prepare our dishes in a manner he felt they should be prepared and obviously he missed the mark. My mesquite grill chicken burrito was so loaded with cheese that it lost the flavor of the grilled chicken and the complexity of the mole sauce. Yes, I could send it back, but what was the use since the chef does not understand his menu and the food he serves. What better highlights this than my wife’s camarones rellanos which were a disaster. The shrimp was over cooked and the dish was not prepare in the fashion it should be prepared, including missing sauces and just its basic structure. We made attempts to remedy the situation, but nothing was done to make this dish as satisfying as it one was or prepared with the same amount of care. Q The kitchen needs to return to preparing the dishes in the manner it once produced. I will not say we will never return, but if I were a new customer I would certainly have that thought. As for my wife and me, we will probably be returning more dishes to the kitchen until they get it right. Needless to say, this ranks number one or two among the most unsatisfactory meals we have ever had hands down. We are hoping these words do not fall lightly on the ears of the kitchen staff or those in the position to make the necessary changes happen!

The food was good, and the location and the ambience were good as well. They have a nice seating area outside and they have heaters to keep you warm. The prices are not too steep but also not too low either.

Great food and amazing margaritas! The staff is pleasant and very professional in a casual beach environment. Salmon tacos are cooked perfectly. Not over cooked. Try something new!

Always delicious, BEST Margaritas, friendly staff. We have been going here ever since it opened. It never disappoints. The kid menu rocks and I love the fajitas. Carne Asada, Carnitas are also tasty. They even have some vegan options. So many choices on the menu.

We arrived on a Sunday at about 4:15pm and the restaurant was pretty quiet. By the time we left around 6pm the place was packed. We had great service and the food was delicious! I would recommend the Pozole de pollo verde soup. It’s a special item not on the regular menu. It’s a green soup served with shredded chicken and hominy and comes with fresh avocado, cabbage, red onions, radishes, lime wedges and jalapeños. It was truly the best pozole I’ve ever had! Also it’s a really big portion so you could easily share this with someone.

Always delicious! We happened to order something messy this time and they brought us cocktail napkins as extras. How do you clean up the chili colorado or birria tacos with cocktail napkins? The chairs are very uncomfortable, they must not want you to stay too long. Service was a little slow this time, but it's usually better. Overall, one of our favorite Mexican restaurants.

Party of four with reservations for the patio. Seated right away with chips and salsa. Patio very comfortable with plenty of space between tables and lots of patio heaters. Large menu selection with very reasonable prices. I had Chili Verde plate which was delicious and nice and spicy. My wife had the Chili rellano which was good; we're still searching for the best chili rellano in our area. Service was prompt and friendly. $50 per couple with one margarita and one soft drink and two dinners. We will definitely be back. Returned again and had another great dinner. I had the same dish, again delicious. My wife had the shrimp tacos which were outstanding. Service was great.

Cute place by the beach in Redondo. Very popular with the parents. We had perfectly adequate if not exceptional food. Were there a bit early for alcohol, so no data about Margaritas. Iced tea is slightly fruity, so would be good for those with sweet tastes.

Loved this place! Food was really good! We ordered vegetarian enchiladas filled with cheese and spinach. The sauce was super tasty and the chips were the perfect dipping compliment to the enchiladas. We sat outside, and dined at the comfort of our table on a Monday afternoon.

I did not ask the name of the waitress but brilliant service. Friendly, great communication, recommended us options, cross selling a drink to get us $10off from the offer they were running. Food was great. Guacamole was a must try.

Cinco De Mayo at the Riviera Mexican Grill did not disappoint. It was packed and we waited 30 minutes past our reservation time but it was worth it. The food and Margaritas were amazing!

Delicious and good service as well. We went here on a Friday night and found the restaurant. We put in our name hostess stand door to receive text after what happened. Text came in and we made it inside. It was crowded and busy and they were mariachi band singing in the background, the drinks were good but the service was a little slow and the food was great but a little so probably because of so many people. We had the chicken souza enchiladas and they were delicious. Urban Cowgill April 2023

I went on a Monday for lunch in their patio. Service was helpful and friendly. When we asked how spicy the tomatillo, ranchero, and mole sauces were, the wait staff brought small containers of each to try. They had a slight kick and were all delicious and different. For those wanting more kick, Cholula hot sauce is on the table. I had the 2 combination with chicken enchilada with mole sauce and chicken tamale with tomatillo sauce, and all were delicious! For sides, I chose the charro beans, which had a little bacon to provide some smokiness and their coleslaw.

Was supposed to be about a 25 minute late, but was only about 10-15 min. Was able to sit and have drinks for a few minutes before getting to our table. Did not take long to get our food once we ordered. The veggie burrito was huge and delicious!! So nice to go to a place that played awesome 80s music. Really enjoyed the atmosphere.

This is one of our local favorites, delicious food, great service, and festival atmosphere. Love to enjoy the margaritas and munching on the chips and salsa, and the huge burritos. Tips: We came recently with a big group for brunch on Saturday, I was surprised that it wasn’t too crowded.

Pretty homey feel to this place. I remember all the fun parties and dinners that took place too. The decorations make the place feel very warm- and if you're kids are bored, there is a fish tank too! the food isn't top tier but it satisfies me, and everything just feels welcoming, which is something most restaurants fail to do.

Can't say enough great things about this South Bay landmark. The first thing I had was the albondigas soup in 1996 and have eaten almost every item on the menu since then. The Burritos are my favorite paired with a Cadillac Margarita.

I understand that we are in a pandemic, but if a business cannot offer the highest level of quality and service, they shouldn't consider reopening. My husband and I went to Rivera Mexican Grill last night, the only good thing about the entire experience was we were seated immediately. Perhaps that should have been our first clue, as other restaurants in the area had over an hour wait. The server was friendly but completely overwhelmed, under trained and uneducated about the menu. We ordered a Blue chip salad each, and I order a special Margarita with salt, and super hot-hot sauce for our chips. What I received was a small margarita with NO salt, when I stated that was not what I order, she looked at me in a complete daze. I had to go to the bar and change out the drink myself. Still waiting for hot sauce 15-minutes in, we asked a bus-boy who brought us hot chili's right away, not exactly what we ordered but it worked. 35-minutes in we received our very warm, soggy salads and a saucer of hot-hot sauce. My husband and I looked at each other and just shook our heads. The salad was HORRIBLE! We know it's supposed to be slightly warm, but it had obviously sat under a heat lamp for much of our long wait. Looking around it was an entire room of frustrated patrons. As soon as we got home, we were both so nauseated from the meal, it almost ruined date night. My suggestion is if you go to another restaurant and they tell you it's a 40+ minute wait, that you should wait. Because you will wait once inside for your subpar food. I'd love to get my $60.00 back, I hope you save your money!

Literally my favorite restaurant!! My husband and I had our wedding reception here 13 years ago, and it’s been a love affair ever since. We know everyone and they greet us by name when we go in!! The margaritas are amazing, the chips hot and fresh, the salsa yummy! The food is fresh and delicious. I’ve never had anything I didn’t love, but my absolute fave are the salmon tacos. The patio is wonderful any time of year - umbrellas when it’s hot and heaters when it’s chilly. Service is perfect, the vibe is fun. You’ll love it here!

Hubby and I have been coming here for over ten years. The service is always great and so is the food. I usually order their fish tacos or 2-item lunch (enchilada and a crispy taco). I had their chili verde recently and it was tender full of flavors. Their burritos are hugh and wonderful. The only dish I think is just adequate is their tamales, everthing else is very good. One note of caution, their salsa is AMAZING. So pace yourself so you have room to eat what you ordered. If we could drink it like gazpacho we would, it is so good.

Great food and service. This restaurant is full of traffic as should be expected. Waiters all over the place serving a full house, all tables loaded. Went for lunch. Wife had the machaca. Brisket was still moist and the other ingredients seemed fresh too. I had the chorizo burrito which included chorizo, egg, rice and beans wrapped in a thin tortilla. I had it wet (covered with Ranchero sauce. It was tasty and it was huge. I could only eat about a half of it.
