My mom picked up pies that I asked her to get for a party. They gave her a sugar free apple pie when she never asked for one, charged her the extra $2 it is too. When she informed me of this it was after closing. I tried the pie and it was awful..my daughters no sugar added applesauce tastes better than that! When I spoke with the manager Ruben he informed me I can bring it back to get a refund, however we are very far away and in the middle of a move. He was not accommodating with providing a refund for THEIR error!! I was willing to send a photo, but he said it must be in person. I've work in the service industry and have never seen or heard a customer be treated so bad when the restaurant made a mistake. Will never be going back. Owners should take note that their staff isn't being trained properly and the manager doesn't know how to properly handle any mistakes, which are bound to happen. Horrible experience and highly recommended not going to this establishment!

The place is old, kinda stuck in the 80/90's Era. I went there reluctantly. We had a couple beers but had to drink the beer on ice but it was fine. The beer was just not cold enough. My works Frisco burger was good but the Patty didn't fit the bread but it was well put together with all the other ingredients. The food did take a while but all in all it was fine

I ordered the French apple pie online for a birthday person a day before. When I got there the next day to pick it up as scheduled (6:00pm), the waitress said they did not have it. I explained to her that it was pre-ordered and showed her my receipt. She let the manager know and he said he will come speak with me. Well, as other customers came and went, took a very long time for the manager to finally appear. Of course, not having the pie that I ordered and the very long wait did not make me a happy person. When the manager finally appeared, he said they wouldn't have any French apple pies until two days later, some excuse about not receiving my online order when it was made and their inventory was short that I did not buy. He did offer a free pie of any kind, but that's a hard fit when the person you bought the pie for only likes their French apple pie. I requested the regular apple pie (lesser value) and also asked for an apple crumb muffin. The manager was reluctant but did give me the muffin. The pie was delicious. My suggestion: when ordering online be sure to follow up with a phone call to make your order was received and that they have their inventory in order to fulfill your order. I ordered a regular pie that they should always have, not a specialty one.

Stopped here for lunch one day. It's located in the cut. ( small corner) Close to Crab Shack. You can tell that this restaurant has been here a while and needs a super update! Walked in and was greeted and seated. The waitress was very nice and gave great service. I ordered the Roast beef sandwich with gravy instead of the dipping sauce that originally came with it, and some French Fries. The food was good and priced fairly. The bathrooms also need some work. Other than the remodeling everything else was good. The key lime pie was delicious and nice size portions

In need of a slice of pie or a whole pie? This is the place to go. I enjoy their pies. Their service is hit & miss. Our slices of pie are not packaged with care and look a slight mess when opened. It's probably best to eat it there at the restaurant.

The food and service here is never good enough. Unlike other locations. : I was one of the early arrivals the restaurant was in immaculate condition the service was incredible poor,, the manager was professional but unhelpful..what I'm trying to say with this review: everyone that morning was unapologetically Rude. There is absolutely no question in my mind this is one of the substandard restaurants around. The few good things about this location is: kept clean, the pies are made fresh daily, And if you're lucky you'll get your food in a timely manner.

We came for dinner... The salad bar was lacking major. We had to pass... Wilted lettuce no selection... We both acted for a combo meal.. The meal came with a salad.. Again, wilted lettuce. They only saving grace was the pie.. I will never eat at this facility I will only buy pies... Our server never returned to the table to check to see if we wanted a refill of water or beverages.. Not even to say how's everything going..

I had never been to this Marie Callenders before, I thought they were all closed down ! We went yesterday the place is a little old looking but it's clean we ordered the famous Chicken Pot Pies 🥧 they were delicious it was served with a salad and a slice of pie of you choice I could only eat a few bites I had the mango lemonade I drank that first it was really good . I was glad to know we have a Marie Callender's still in the area Gardena !

Favorite comfort food. I always get the chicken pot pie or shepherd's pie with a side of Caesar salad wrapped up with a slice of pie for $15.99. This was my first job so fond memories of taking home leftover pies and sharing with family and friends. Got one for tomorrow Easter dinner too.

This Marie callender's on western in Gardena really screwed our meal up it seems as if it was done intentionally, l ordered 3 pot pies was hard( as if it was microwave for 20 mins),3 clam chowder was (lumpy )soup,2 drinks and corn bread was hard ,manager agreed with the order being uneatable, manager said don't worry about the bill didn't ask about why everything was a disaster, l love Marie C especially their corn bread but this old time place l use to go to was horrible for us, l'm still in a lawsuit against the county VA this sounds like another one of their retaliation game

Gardena’s Marie Callender is a hidden gem. Nestled in a small strip mall, out of street view, this restaurant is a bit of an anomaly when surrounded by Asian Cuisine. There pies are fantastic and the food is what you expect from a place that sells American comfort food!

It's there annual pie sale and I bought 2 pies. Lemon cheese cake and banana cream 😋 I spent 24.90 something each pie was 10 dollars plus tax, worth it. Customer service was great short wait time, went 6 o'clock in the evening.

We love going out. Yesterday we arrived in this delicious place which friends recommended to us. We spent a lovely experience there with excellent cooking and an efficient stuff and a great cook. We added this fine restaurant in our phone list and we will certainly go again very soon. Highly recommended.

The rib special pork seemed very dry as if it was frozen very bland. Mashed potatoes was good. Service was very poor. Took forever to get served or even get water. If you are ordering to go I guess this place is it. But for dine in its very awful. Seems like the Thai shrimp dish is the one to order as it arrives on a cast iron skillet.

I'm only reviewing the pies as I have not had any other food there yet. The servers are really friendly. The strawberry pie is really good. The crust is buttery and they pack it with whole strawberries covered in a light strawberry glaze. The apple pie was great as well as it was not overly sweet. The place was empty and the lighting was dark when walking into the lobby and with me dinning out I can't comment on the atmosphere of the place.

Really enjoyed our dinner. I was craving a chicken pot pie so had to go get me one especially on this rainy day. Brought me back so many memories of me working for Marie Callender’s at Lakewood Ca location, worked there for 24 years. I love this Gardena location will be back soon.

Okay so first time here at Marie Calendars and I gotta say it’s not all that at all, pancakes watered down. Not sure if I’d come back.

I have always loved coming here since i was a kid. My Dad would bring us after church on Sunday mornings. The only complaint I've ever had was buying a whole pie, and they did not let me sit and have a slice of the whole pie i had just purchased.

We had a great dinner, did the 2 for $40 deal. So good!!! W shared three Shrimp & Avocado appetizer, Turkey Dinners, and each a slice of pie. It was a really good deal.

Colleague books a large reservation 4 weeks prior and got surprised by some of the rules applied to our party. Service was slow, but we only had one waitress assigned to us, and she did her best. I probably wouldn't go to this particular location again.

the pies are good but the mexican woman who sold the pie is not trustworthy. I repeatedly asked for french apple pie and made sure that it is french but when I came home the pie that i bought is just regular apple not french apple.

My rant for the day. I had made a group reservation over the phone for 20-24 guests four weeks prior to dining there. Upon arrival, I find that our choices were very limited to a preset option menu. Are you frigging kidding me (was my PG response)? Noone told me this would have been my ONLY OPTION and THEY DON’T ALLOW SPLITTING THE BILL, also NOT SOMETHING TOLD TO ME AT THE TIME OF RESERVATION!!!! Luckily, my husband and I are fortunate enough to be able and pay for everyone using our credit card. My friends knew they were getting a free slice of pie on us as it was our treat, but if they ordered any food, they would need to pay for it. My guests understood our situation and we worked out a plan of how to get reimbursed for food orders. We were happy to pay for the pie slices for our guests. What got me mad is that the assistant manager thought I lied about having made the actual reservation. That is, until he was told by his boss that I was telling the truth, and my reservation was logged in their books. I was also told that whoever took my reservation over the phone, should have also charged me a $100 deposit, ALSO SOMETHING I WASN’T AWARE OF! Poor server was overwhelmed with NO HELP FROM HER FELLOW STAFF. Because of this, service was slow. To ease my stress, the onsite manager allowed a bunch of exceptions to their rule, so my guests were able to get soup and cornbread options, and other regular menu items, plus various pie selection options (the group menu ONLY ALLOWED CHOICE OF APPLE, CHOCOLATE CREAM, AND LEMON MERINGUE!!!! WT# (censored)!!! Finally, after everyone calmed down (management staff AND me), the management realizes I was right all along! I DID make this reservation four weeks ago (at first they thought I was a “walk-in”), and NOONE told me about: 1) the slim menu options for large groups, 2) didn’t charge me a $100 deposit, 3) didn’t tell me no splitting of checks. My guests were mostly college students and senior citizens. They were understanding about it, but I still felt bad about the whole situation. Because it was not the server’s fault, we did tip a substantial additional amount to the automatic 20% gratuity they tack on for large groups. She (I wish I got the server’s name) deserved the additional tips since she worked her butt off. What am I trying to say? It is a shame that this company has gone down hill in training their staff properly. I am not a “Karen” or a person who resorts to violence, because it could have been an even uglier situation if this happened to someone else. DON’T BOOK LARGE EVENTS HERE! Save yourself the embarrassment and stress. Next time we will go elsewhere like a Denny’s or Norm’s where you get to choose your own meal off their full menu AND they WILL split the bill.
