Most horrible experience. What you see is not what you get. Everything is of poor quality from mattress to towels. We got a room next to the common toilet. You can hear everything as noise echos everywhere. One toilet is shared by many guests as the other bathroom is under repair. The whole house looks pretty but smell of mold especially our room. Both of us got so sick with allergies and sore throat after only staying one night. Other guests were coming back after 3am and were loud and inconsiderate. We don't understand the rating. We have traveled everywhere for the past 20 years and this is one really bad experience.

Amazing place, the rooms are clean, the building itself is beautiful and the staff is friendly and helpful. Hostel is based in an old villa that used to be owned by a local painter, you can clearly see this as the building is beautifully decorated on the outside and the inside. The owner also has a beautiful cat and dog which are both very sweet (although the cat is a bit shy, she loves to get pet). The only think missing in this place is the social hostel feel, we did not really connect with any other guests and there were no hostel specific events, so basically this place feels more like you are sharing a villa than being in a hostel together, so dont expect any hostel vibes. Still really enjoyed my stay, will come back again!

Loved our stay here! Ideal place both for couples looking for a relaxed spot to stay but also for travellers who enjoy mingling with other people. We had a clean and airy room with a great view. The host is very friendly. Literally next to a large supermarket and walking distance to several beaches and great surfing spots. We'd definitely come back.

Great 101 year old Villa, very central, lively people who own the house. Highly recommended to stay here at great value for money and relaxed atmosphere.

This house is a really quiet and peaceful place. Not luxury, but a homely house; nice staff. So close to supermarket but it's bit far from the beach (walking).

This is a very cosy older house that has been repurposed as a local accommodation. The host is very friendly and takes care of everything you need. Some parts of the house still have the original furniture, which makes you feel the house period vibes, like the piano in the common room, the pictures in the wall in our room, ... However, it took 10 minutes for our clothes to smell like the old wood of the dresser we put them in. There is no breakfast included, as this is literally a house were you practically rent a room, but it is next to Continente (Supermarket) which also has a small café inside that opens at 8.30am and serves breakfast menus as well as meal menus, and closes at 9pm. If you want, you can use the kitchen to cook at Casa Branca. Overall it was a very nice experience.

A massive home, 300 meters from the pedestrian/cafe street, large porches, wifi, great kitchen to use, and the host is a righteous dude. A real treat where the beat meet the elite, natch.

Neat old house! A bit dirty and smelly (expected in a 100+ year old house), but cheap as chips!

Greedy owner and super stinky rooms... Won't do it again, although the location is good

Wow. Amazing place. Beautiful villa within walking distance to ericeira town, bars and restaurants. Fully equipped kitchen and living room complete with piano, dog, cat, guitar. It has hostel vibes as all the rooms share living space and people are coming and going all the time. Very clean and tidy. Shared bathrooms were top quality with good sized showers etc. Juan was a great host and always available to help out and make sure you are happy. The room was basic but comfortable. I think it was also possible to rent surfboards and wetsuits from Juan which would probably be cheaper than at the beach. Parking available on site. 1 min walk to the supermarket. Only downside is that you are slightly too far to walk comfortably to the surf beaches with boards and probably need a car to get over there. Aside from that it’s an amazing place to stay. Added skatepark in the back yard/patio area was a bonus. Thanks for a great stay!

Great place, close to downtown and shop, dog and cat on site and beautiful building. Bathrooms are shared but are very nice and comfortable.
