Noah’s Surf House is located in a ghost town that truly feels like a simulation. Though the accommodations themselves are fine, they are not enough to outweigh the heinous location - not to mention the service was unfriendly, inflexible and unpleasant. Trust me on this one people 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Rooms are great, but overall customer service is severely lacking. Not a ton of variety food wise and the prices certainly don’t equate the quality of what you get. Other than 1-2 helpful front desk attendants, anyone who worked a bar or restaurant shift could use a refresher in good customer service. Really disappointed with the overall experience for such a beautiful place. A “manager” came to speak to us and was ultimately condescending in his apology and extremely patronizing. Would not reccomend.

Nice atmosphere at a too steep price tag We stayed here as part of a longer vacation for 4 days in a bungalow to hang out, take some surf lessons and enjoy the sea. For us this was the most expensive part of our vacation, thus maybe our expectations were a bit higher than usual. The complex consists of the hotel, terrasses with pool and restaurant where also breakfast is served and an associated restaurant at the beach. Plenty of activities are offered, free ones and paid ones, like surf lessons, etc. The whole complex is nicely designed. The personal was very friendly and helpful. Surf- and Yoga-instructors were very competent and fun in small groups. It was relaxing to hang out at the pool etc. Overall, our sea-view bungalow was nice as well. However, there was a street between hotel and beach, which was not so obvious before booking. What made it worse, was the big public parking in direction of the sea with lots of lights shining into the room at nighttimes. So we could either close the the blackout shades or leave it open for getting fresh air during the night. Breakfast was of good quality, but honestly at that price tag you could expect more variety. Despite a pre-booking survey about food-intolerances there was no lactose-free yoghurt available. We also tried the restaurant at the hotel. One of the meals was very good, the other one rather boring. The food at the beach restaurant in contrast was amazing. Summarizing, we had nice stay, with a too steep price tag at everything what was delivered. Despite the good quality of the surf lessons, I would also go somewhere else for that, because the price is more than twice the regular lesson-price in Portugal.

Hate to recommend, but have no other choice… Stunning architecture, cool vibe, great food and wine, beautiful music and above all great staff. Put beautiful sea views, a pool you can swim in and a cozy fireplace in the room on top…So please don’t go…

This was a great place to stay. We went in October when everything is a little quieter in Santa Cruz. But the hotel was still busy. We really enjoyed our stay. The accomodation was great and was really nicely designed with great views from the bungalows. There were loads of great activities included such as yoga, functional workouts and liquid balance which was good fun. You had to pay for surf lessons which were good. We did drive to Peniche each day which was a 30/40 minute drive. Great waves, but be prepared to travel away from Santa Cruz. There is also a skatepark where you can hire boards or get lessons. In terms of food, we were staying in the bungalows without a kitchen so had to eat out for every meal. We mostly ate in the hotel restaurant which had good food, and a really nice atmosphere. By the end of the week though, we had eaten the majority of the menu. But the staff were really nice and there was plenty of gluten free choices. Would definitely recommend Noah Surf House for a great holiday and relaxed vibes. The staff were very nice and helpful and we will hopefully be back in the future.

Came to this place for dinner. Service was super friendly, the waiter went out of his way to explain the hotel and concept for us, their vision on the food etc. My dad being from this part of Portugal and not into “modern food” wasn’t too amused of the place and especially not its prices. (He knows that you can eat for half the price in many restaurants in the villages around and get traditional food). The waiter sensed it and took extra care to explain to him a few things and have some chitchat to see if he would enjoy the evening nonetheless. We all ate really well, my meat was not medium like I asked but more well done apart from that it was good. Is it worth the prices they ask? In all honesty, you can eat better and for less in that area, I don’t think it’s fair asking Dutch prices in a small village in Portugal... and when you do make it incredible, and it wasn’t. To me this says: tourists can afford it, tourists are used to pay it so let’s go for it. 25 euros for the steak was even for me a bit of a tourist trap price. In the end I chose to eat there so I can’t blame them for it, hence the 4 stars

Great hotel with kids, full of exciting activities. The concept and amenities are really cool. But the place could be cleaner, the food better and the staff more flexible.

We booked the hotel for the surfing and the weather conditions unfortunately weren’t great but instead of rescheduling the surf lesson we spent 5-6 hours travelling to another destination for 1 hour of awful surfing. We were only there one night so meant we had no time at the hotel. We relayed our experience but did not feel listened to at all. It was not at all worth the money

This is a very, very special place. Treat yourself to one of the nice bungalows, enjoy the fire while watching the sunset and listening to the sound of the sea. Staff is super friendly and I'm definitely coming back.

We loved everything about this place - great staff, wonderful location, the spacious bungalow overlooking the ocean, the black kitten that would visit us each day, the rooftop sunset views and all the activities from yoga to live music to drinks by the firepit. We are already planning our next visit.

Incredible hotel, great food (both breakfast and a la carte), awesome staff. If you want to learn how to surf, there‘s probably no better place in Europe. The surf teachers are super helpful and will show even the most inept beginners how to catch a wave. What I liked especially about the hotel was the open layout of its premises; you can move freely between lobby, pool deck, roof top bar, and your rooms without much fuss, making it a welcoming space. Sure, the city of Santa Cruz offers little in terms of sightseeing, but once you’re at Noah’s you really don‘t need to be anywhere else. Add clean beaches and fantastic water quality, and you‘ve got yourself a surf holiday to remember.

Noah’s exceeded all of our expectations. Our room had the most beautiful view of the ocean, the beds were super comfortable, the decor of the hotel, roof, restaurant was beautiful! The best part was the staff- every single encounter from every single person working at the hotel was extraordinary! My son loved his surf instructors and the skate instructors were so caring and warm. Noah’s we loved our stay and hope to return!!!

We tried the rooftop bar, very nice view/ vibes . Good cocktails and service . I little pricy compare to the area but a good place to chill after surfing!

Our family had an excellent two week vacation at Noah Surf House in Portugal in May 2023. This is our second visit to Noah, our first visit was back in April 2022. We had so much fun that we planned another longer break at Noah Surf House. The best part of Noah Surf House is the amazing customer service from the front desk/reception to the indoor restaurant staff to the sport activities organizers. Each day our family was always warmly greeted by reception and/or the restaurant staff during morning breakfast and throughout the day when we pass by the reception desk to enjoy complimentary daily tea and homemade cookies. We would like to take a moment to give a shout out to the following staff at Noah Surf House for making our stay extra special each day such as Carlos, Carolina, Mariana, Jorge, Ana (reception), Ana (dining), Filipa, Bruno, Fabio, Gabriel, Tatas, Sara, and Miguel (chickens). Our young infant son would always give high fives and fist bumps to all the staff that it became a routine each day which everyone enjoyed. It was difficult to leave after two weeks because it felt they were part of our family since we got to get to know them more each day. Our family stayed in the Mar & Cook Bungalow during the 2 weeks which I highly recommend if you are traveling with a family or prefer a larger space with amazing views of the beach and kitchen to cook food. The bungalow was very spacious which can easily accommodate up to 4 people comfortably and offers dual showers. The kitchen had all the necessary pots and pans with plates and utensils. We used the oven often to cook and reheat food we picked up from the one of the local markets. It was very relaxing to wake up each day to views of the beach and enjoy the evening sunsets. One of the great benefits at Noah Surf House is the free daily breakfast buffet between 7:30am to 10:30am. It was always the same offerings of yogurt with fresh fruit and nuts, fresh bread, fresh juices, coffee and made to order egg dishes such as omelets and scrambled eggs with toppings such as various veggies, bacon, and chicken. I always enjoyed the homemade cakes prepared which may vary daily. They also offered croissants and pasteis de natas. As others have stated, it can get boring since breakfast offerings don't change but it didn't bother me as I enjoyed the consistency. Shout out to Mariana and Jorge for always greeting our family each day for breakfast and taking out time to interact with our infant son. A few times our family had dinner at the onsite restaurant and the food was delicious. We also enjoyed a couple of the non-alcoholic drinks and highly recommend the "Free Drop" at Noah. Again shout out to Ana, Fabio and Gabriel for the amazing, friendly service. We highly recommend checking out the weekly activities list offered at Noah Surf House which a few were complimentary. Our family enjoyed the "To the Rhythm of the Chickens" as we got a tour from Miguel about Noah's food/plant garden and see the on-site chickens that lay eggs. Our infant son enjoyed feeding the chickens. We also took surf lessons which was inexpensive at 65 EUR for a 2-3 hour lesson. The surf teachers like Miguel provided helpful tips and guidance to ensure we get the best surf and improve our technique. I highly recommend taking one of the surf lessons. Since Noah Surf House is located in the center of Santa Cruz, we were always just a few minutes walk to reach local restaurants, markets, and shops in the area. Of course, Noah was such a minute away from the beach and ocean. The weekends always had more locals visiting the beaches and restaurants. As stated early, this was our second visit to Noah Surf House and we are making it an annual family tradition. Bottomline, the staff at Noah Surf House will always try to make your stay extra special and make you feel a part of the family. We highly recommend Noah Surf House if you want to relax and explore new places in Portugal outside of Lisbon and Sintra.

Really family friendly hotel, the buffet breakfast was really nice but the resturant menu was a bit disappointing, we also had to send back an undercooked dish but the staff were very apologetic. The decor is stunning as are the views, the pool and hot tub are really nice. The kids loved the trampoline. The town is a little disappointing there isn't really much going on but it was October perhaps in the height of the summer it is better.

Really cool hotel, with great views of the ocean, though the location is next to a road in a really ugly town. Staff is really friendly, but not flexible. Prices are double of what you pay in town for mediocre food and but good surfinglessons.

Overall a great stay. Very quiet and peaceful and if you’re looking for a few nights (3-4) to truly relax, catch some sun around the pool, reading and chilling, and then go for a very pretty evening sunset walk, followed by a delicious dinner (Holy is recommended) all in walkable distance… Then you won’t be disappointed. It’s beautiful and close to some great cities along the coast within 1hrs drive. Why 4 stars? I felt personally (and not negatively) that it’s not the best surfing beach in this region, the rooms felt a little small (although a super view!) and the staff, although friendly, I never had a meeting point with a senior manager checking in with us on our 7 night stay. I don’t need that attention but at a semi premium rate I would expect a bit more attentive senior staff supporting the junior staff.

Hilariously excellent surf and skate focussed luxury hotel. Amazing food, great pool and a wonderful location...and all with wonderfully helpful and friendly staff. Erm, don't forget your wallet though...!

We loved this place by the sea. We chose it as our son is activity mad and was really into skateboarding at the time of booking. We hoped this would give us time to chill while giving him plenty to do and it was perfect. There is the skatepark (equipment all free to hire), trampolines, pool & jacuzzi, foosball table, ping pong and board games. Then there's always the beach with its big waves to jump over 🌊 The staff are all amazing too and we were so welcomed, felt like a home from home. It's got such a fabulous atmosphere and vibe. We also did surf lessons (booked via the hotel) as a family and we all achieved more than we expected. All the gear and travel is included, we even went to Peniche one day as the ocean was a bit rough locally. Yes it's pricey, but honestly, for us it was worth it given everything available and the quality of the hotel. A couple of points, make sure you're aware of the weather forecast because it has a weird micro climate due to its location. It was about ten degrees cooler than Lisbon and we didn't see the sun for 5 days in August, though it was still warm and actually worked great for us as we didn't need to worry about burning or being out in it for too long. Also, despite it being in a small town, there wasn't anywhere else we found better to eat than the hotel or the sister restaurant at the beach, no real vibe in town at all.

A wonderful place where we had an absolutely fantastic experience. This hotel offers a super all around experience. We can highly recommend it to everyone!

My experience was pretty good. I love this surf camp. The design is so cool, it has every detail. The infinity pool and the views are so beautiful and you have so many activities to do every day. You never get bored! The skate teacher is the best: he is a pro and gives you the best tips to improve. The worst part: maybe too familiar, sometimes is not easy to relax because there are too many kids in the pool and common areas yelling and playing around.

Was there in april 2022. The view from the bungalow is gorgeous. The rest of the venue is well designed and managed. The amenities like pool, gym, restaurant and terrass are all lovely. We attended both their yoga, surf trips and group exercise during our stay and the instructors were really friendly and professional. Would love to have stayed longer.
