Nice place to spend some family time. There's no entry free (you can donate as much as you want) and there are a number of activities available to you, such as a children's playground, feeding farm animals, exploring mini museums of different professions and grabbing traditional food and desserts in one of the few shops within the zone.

We stumbled across this place and SO glad we did, so fun and playful. Really affordable pottery store on-site as well and the cafe has amazing chorizo bread. Had such a fun afternoon here!

Interesting "mini" village that shows the life's work of local villager and potter "José Franco". Good for families with children. There's a free car park just behind the village and away from the main road. Best to visit in a sunny day. Also, don't forget to try out the "filhós", a local treat home-made in the village. (ATM available on sight). People with reduced mobility will struggle to visit (a lot of stairs and narrow spaces).

A labyrinth your kids will love to get lost in. Discovered this place by accident on our way to the palace and it was really fascinating. Lots of historical setups of old Portugal with lots for the kids to do and a really reasonable gift shop with some great pottery items. Also seems to be free so added bonus. Big car park at the back

Definitely a place worthy of a visit during the weekend. From tools used in the past, to how grocery store was etc, a place to bring back childhood memories and show today's children how things were in the old days. They also have a restaurant, tables for picnicking.

Cool place to visit that clearly shows how an ancient portuguese village was. However, a lot of the places need cleaning and we can clearly notice that the things that gave too much trouble were just bolted to either the ground, walls or even furniture they were on. Nonetheless, great place to visit specially with kids. Would give a 3.5* but since I can't I only give it a 3.

A wonderfully well-kept reproduction of Portuguese rural traditions, child-sized and an invitation to explore.

Absolutely worth it. I must say, it isn't my first time here, but I barely remember my first time. I was small, but I remember all the water/electric power miniatures that unfortunately no longer work. However, despite that it's absolutely worth going here and seeing the marvels José Franco build with his wife before passing away. Only the people coming in upkeep this place that is a hidden gem of the Portuguese seaside.

This was a amazing little museum, of how Portugal used to be. Felt like a little kid again, well worth a stop if your passing. It's free to explore, and the gift shop is great, reasonable prices. They have a little cafe on site.

Located in Sobreiro, between Ericeira and Mafra, and just over 30 minutes from Lisbon, is a village that is a museum worth visiting. The entry is free, and lots of free parking options, you also can find there a restaurant, atelier and souvenir shop. You can also meet super friendly animals that you can feed if you want ❤.

Nice place. Only the animals are not good there because are to bad treatment and they use the giving food to the animals to make profit and lake that the animals are mixed with other races and kind of animals. They are not a way of making maney.

Will recommend sparing some time and going to visit this place, which is something that you will never see the same and the story of this place is amazing... to have something like to where you can enjoy and share this experience with friends and family is amazing . Also, going back in time and understanding how things were done and comparing them with how everything is done these days is amazing.

Amazing place to visit. If you have children, even better. They have a small place where the children can feed, rabbits and sheep's and goat's as well. It's a must visit if you are in Mafra.

Free, and younger children will love to run around the site. It is an ethnicographic museum that displays some great artifacts of blacksmithing, seamstress tools, etc while also providing small playgrounds for children. The site also has animals to feed and a snack bar as well.

One of the most mesmerizing memories of Portugal is this typical village exhibit, reminding us that life was simple and good a 100 years ago when man lived in harmony with forces of nature. It's good for education of our young generation. There's a real windmill that is in working condition. Moreover, it is fun for kids with a small castle, swings, mechanised miniatures, snacks and an animal farm where you can feed rabbits goats hamsters galinha and sheep a bag of goodies that you can buy for €1 in the shop. It also has pottery and ceramic shops, cafe and some other organic and traditional local products that can be bought. If you want to spend a lazy 4 hours with kids not far from Lisbon this is it! You can complement the trip with a visit to Mafra palace and gardens or/and tapra do Mafra and finish it with a traditional dinner in local restaurant.

It gives a glimpse of tipical village of Portugal. Built on miniature scenario, it show the occupation of ancient Portuguese people. It is well built. The artist has done amazing job. I especially like how the miniature is made like it's functional. It give the feeling of reality. If you are visiting around Lisbon, Mafra, Ericeira etc then this should be in the list. But it's not very large in space though. No ticket required.

Nice experience! I really enjoyed visiting it. Really amazing work. Everything is well taken cared and it has a lot of fun and curious facts about the traditions of Portugal. Suitable for children and adults. Staff should be more acssessble and the bar should be more clean in the exterior patio. Try the "pão com chouriço" it is amazing!
