I was in disbelief of how poorly were we treated and their terrible customer service. We arrived to the hotel and were given the room key. A very old and rusted key, which broke immediately after I tried to open the room. I went down and explained the lady at the reception what happened and asked for a second key. Her reaction wasn't friendly but she called someone to ask for it. They discussed for a few minutes, and then I was told I had to pay for a new key because we had broken it. I politely said I didn't think it was fair for us to pay considering we got a key in bad shape and that it broke as soon as we attempted to open the door. The lady came back to the phone and argued in Portuguese about what we have allegedly done. (I understand Portuguese, and their way of referring to us, was not polite at all). Few minutes later I was FORCED to speak with the owner over the phone, who was yelling at me and accusing us of damaging his property, he didn't let me speak and to be honest I thought the conversation was rather unnecessary. In frustration I agreed to pay for the key, and was charged 2€. (Can not yet understand, why to mistreat, yell and lose a customer for such a low value? was it worth it?) An hour later we had a guest waiting at the lobby. At this point at the reception there was a middle age man who spoke no other language but Portuguese. He rudely interrogated our guest about why was she there, but they had no common language. When we met her at the lobby, he proceeded to continue his interrogation with us, asking if we were guests and room number, which I sadly didn't remember. I tried to ignore this, but when we were back the man came to us and reminded the room number and said something on the lines that we should be more respectful, and how respect is an important thing in life.

I read that there is a new and an old section of this place - I got an (old?) room on the ground floor, first room after the entrance. Door was pretty much made of paper so every resident that walked by or made any sound at night quite literally woke me up - so did the sounds from the street. The breakfast was literary basic, very basic. Don’t have high hopes about this one. If you want cheap:ish accommodation and in a central location this place is a valuable trade off. But bring earplugs. If you’re looking for something nicer - and when coming to Ericeira I highly believe it is for the experience - then look elsewhere.

What an incredible value for the price! The location is unbeatable. You could see and hear the ocean from the room! The staff was so helpful and friendly and we felt very comfortable. They went above and beyond for us, helping us to iron clothes and book covid test appointments. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The room was in bad shape, there was mold all over the bathroom and the bath was really small. The closet smelled bad and likely also had mold. The area was great, however, and was really close to both city centre and the beach.. The service was okay in my opinion, but the manager seemed a bit frustrated over something, and the new clerk was not really allowed to do her job without him hanging over her - that was kind of annoying

Great Location! The decor is quite dated, and the noise travels.

Totally liked this place and it was a good idea to book a room here. Best points about this place: - Center location (near to almost everything) - picturesque interior( don't forget to take pictures on waiting room and corridor and thank me later) - friendly staff (thank you for your service) - reasonable price (the best price) - clean/cozy/warm rooms - ATM

The Residencial Fortunato is a very very nice place to stay at! The personal is forthcoming, heartwarming welcoming and thoughtful. The room (we had one of rooms with a balcony which would have view to the sea) was perfect. Roomservice discrete and professional like everyone else in this place. Clear recommendation! Thank you so much for having us :*

An excellent space for a family of 4. Looking onto the beach, with it's own private pool. Secure parking, and minutes walk from the main eateries. All is new and very clean. Dishwasher and washing machine included. At times the night time neighborhood can be noisy, as the walls block nothing. In general a good safe location.

(Translated by Google) A pretty rough place ... I'll tell you about my experience ... We arrived and the elevator was not working so they offered us to change rooms to the ground floor. We accepted and they had to remove a bed from the room, they remove it and the hotel manager says ... "that's good !! There are no bugs !!" ..... I don't think there is any need to say anything else. The furniture, sheets, furniture .... it is quite old and there are no plugs next to the bedside tables. (Original) Un sitio bastante casposo....os cuento mi experiencia....

👍👍 Exceptionally clean guesthouse and the owner is lovely. She's very kind and picked us up from the bus stop. She was also patient answering all my questions. If you don't have a car, Uber is a great inexpensive option to get around.

👍👍 Ended up being here much longer than expected due to a broken car, which turned out to be a blessing as La Casa Atlantica and the people I met were incredible. An authentic place where the energy feels good each day! Thanks Marco, Samuele, Lavinia, hope until next time. Jorn
