Mauka Lodge Surf camp is well worth the money. Tiago is an excellent coach and he knows how to help you progress one step at a time. He helped me to understand the basics that I was missing to feel confident surfing backside. He takes you to uncrowded breaks. I was super excited that we had big waves while I was there. I loved that we had the opportunity to experience Portuguese culture and eat amazing Portuguese food in non-tourist restaurants. The group was small with only 5 of us but the camaraderie was beautiful and I made new friends for life. This is not my first SUP camp and I would definitely attend again.

A perfect week. Tiago was a great host and coach. Breakfast and lunch very good and freshly made. Accommodation homely and clean. This was my first trip to Portugal and I was greatly looking forward to the tuition and beaches - both of which did not disappoint. But there was also so much I enjoyed that I hadn’t anticipated; making new friends in the group, exploring local restaurants and sight seeing too. Thank you Tiago.

Believe it or not, it's my third visit to the place. The main and only reason is Tiago. He is a great surfer and a great instructor. Yes, it's not the Hilton 5 stars hotel, the conditions are slightly spartan , but if you want to improve your sup surfing while having great laughs and meet people from all around the world this is the vacation to go to! You can experience many different surfing spots, various conditions, several SUP boards from Sunova all while tailoring the activities to your abilities and experience at SUP surfing. It is meant for people who have some SUP experience and good proficiency in the water, it is not for first timers! there is no doubt all the SUP surfers who attended the surf camp improved significantly, you might not experience it immediately but when you go back home and return to your board and your local conditions you will see it for sure.

The lodge is one of my favourite spots on earth!! Beautiful, peaceful amd just the right place for to unwind from the daily rat race. And if you're a surfer, even better! Tiago is the right guy to show you around all the best surfing spots of Portugal while providing a thorough and profound surfing guidance to boost your skills to the next level.. highly recommended for any surfer to go for one of the surfing camps in Portugal or his Maldives excursions.

Would recommend a stay here 100% Tiago is very experienced as a Sup surfer, knows the right equipment for conditions and paddler ability, his local knowledge is bang on too so you will without doubt get the best wave conditions available, we scored some great waves which happens very often down there. the lodge is welcoming and relaxing, super quiet with plenty of gardens and inside space. Great breakfast and lunch provided each day, freshly made with fresh ingredients. Tiago and the team in Paula and Francisco are all very good fun and like a good laugh. Go and stay here its great, I'm well looking forwards to going again......

Tiago’s SUP surf coaching is top class and super personal to you and your goals. Not just in the water, but also analysing the video footage, training balance on the slack line and huge “a-ha” moments working on techniques on the surf skate. It all translates to better surfing and more fun on the waves. He has unlocked the door to the next level of surfing for me and I’ll take tons away to continue to work on after the camp. Everything was spot on. A beautiful location, delicious healthy food, hanging out with super nice people, an amazing vibe and a variety of great waves to suit different skill levels. It’s been a unique and unforgettable experience and I’m already thinking about coming back for another visit.

Had an awesome week at Mauka lodge. Tiago is a really nice host and a great teacher & stand up paddler. He takes you to the best spot according to the conditions. And gives good one on one tips to improve your paddling. The house is in a really nice and quiet neighbourhood. Breakfast and especially lunch (at the beach) were great! If you want to work on your paddling this is the place to go!

I had an amazing week and couldn’t recommend this highly enough, especially my current self to my future self (i.e., can’t wait to come back). The coaching is amazing, confirming some things I was doing right, some I suspected I was doing wrong but didn’t understand importance or how to fix, and then most profoundly all the the things I didn’t know I didn’t know. I can see the unique potential for amazing surf here given all the angles and topography of the coastline from Lisbon to Peniche, including a world surf reserve stretch right in Ericera. My stay in the smallest time of the year (summer) and a bit bad luck with weather, still resulted in 8 sessions for almost 20 hours in the water, including my longest by far head high ride ever at almost 300 meters and no doubt my best turns due to the coaching. Finally, hanging out with the other guests was a real pleasure as we formed a very strong bond and we had so, so much fun! Will definitely cherish this experience and can’t wait to come back and go to the Maldives.

I stayed at Mauka Lodge for a week in April. Had a great week with excellent weather and waves every day. We were well taken care of and Tiago made sure to take us to the best spot(s). Can only recommend a stay here during one of the sup surfing retreats. As a tip: diner is not included with the retreat but Tiago will arrange diner for a few days and the other days you can easily take an Uber into town. Uber is very affordable at that location.

Where to begin?! My gentleman had been to Taigo’s camp back in 2018. Since meeting him he hasn’t stopped talking about coming back and I am SO THRILLED we did. This was the best experience. First the surfing and Tiago’s knowledge of all the beaches is priceless. I returned with more confidence and respect for the power of the water. Second and I think our favorite part was the unexpected stops and sightseeing (go to the Hot dog stand, Tiago knows the one) Third the company and new connections. We came as a couple but left missing the other three surfers who were there as well. Definitely will be keeping in touch. I really can’t say enough wonderful things and we are already planning our return. Obrigado!

I just had the best week at Mauka Lodge. The location and the waves were excellent. Tiago's approach to teaching was delivered in bite size segments, which was just enough to go and practice without being overloaded. On top of time in the water, the lodge food and trips out to various locations was superb. The slacklining and SurfStake were also great training techniques. I'm back home now and looking forward to put into practice more of what I've learned. I'll definitely be going back again.

Just got back from Mauka lodge and we had a fantastic/chilled/fun time, Tiago and the team go out of there way to make you feel at home. Breakfast and lunch on the beach were healthy and plentiful and nothing is to much trouble for any of the team. Each night we were taken to local restaurants which were hand picked and I must say very good. (Mexican was👌). Extremely quiet location, lush green gardens and very chilled out atmosphere in the lodge. We had some challenging surf conditions for the week ahead but Tiago took us to all the right places to get us some shelter which would of cost us a fortune and a lot of time and researching if we did it without him. Throughout the week when the wind wasn’t on our side we were taken to some amazing city’s and beautiful places (sintra being one of many) which really broke the trip up and made it not just about the surfing. Towards the end of the week we had some amazing waves on a beautiful beach break which will stick in my mind for a long time (including my mate dropping in on me). This was my first trip to Portugal surfing and it won’t be my last. We are from North Devon and have been surfing for a long time so some of the conditions and rocky breaks were not an issue however this is not a beginner sup holiday (safety first). if you have never ridden waves and have no experience I would talk to Tiago first as he is very experienced and a great tutor. We have come away from this break learning so much more than we expected, trying new boards, paddles and techniques. If your an intermediate/experienced paddler you will love it. Mauka lodge has been on my radar for some time to improve my SUP surfing skills. Tiago, with his method, professionalism, psychology and care bring out of you all your potential in only a week!. Tiago checks daily several beaches to choose the best place regarding your level and the best conditions for surfing. His knowledge of the spots is priceless. The boards are brand new or almost new and he has a wide range to choose to fit your needs. The lodge is a quiet perfect place with a lovely garden, the rooms and shared spaces are clean and the food is very healthy and delicious. You feel that this is not only a business is a passion and Tiago is one of the best coaches you can meet. My only regret is that it feels very short and I want to come back as soon as I can. Best sport nature and surfing trip there can be! A perfect combination of professional guidance, warm human attitude, love of the sea, love of nature, understanding of the human soul. Tiago He is an exceptional person who does everything to make his guests feel good. He takes care of every detail: where to surf, where to eat, where to travel, what things to improve in surfing and much more. He photographs each and every surfer, shows him what needs to be improved, explains professionally, and within a week you learn new and very important things. Without such professional guidance, it is impossible to get better at surfing. The place we stayed was a combination of comfort, well-being, nature, quiet and the atmosphere of a beautiful village. Our teammates were just great, and we found friends for life. No doubt we will return to Mauka Lodge again and hopefully it will happen very soon! This week exceeded my expectations. The Lodge is Homey and comfortable. Tiago is a Great Coach who quickly identified the things I need to work on and provided the techniques to allow me to improve my skills. I look forward to mastering them and returning to learn more. The participants for our week quickly turned into a group of friends. The weather conditions were not ideal, but Tiago knew the area and where to go so we could get the most out of each day.

Hands down-one of the best experiences in my life! Already looking towards 2024 and 2025. Tiago Silva Sup and the people he works with could not be any kinder or professional! It took me a couple of days to comprehand the meaning of the last week in Tiago's lodge. I came with little knowledge, my spouse surf on the sup and i wanted to join him but unlike the rest of the group, i dont surf on sup. Tiago organized for me the best surf coach i could ask for, Linardo. at the end of the week i was surfing. it was perfect, tthe lodg located at a beautiful place, the companionship was wonderful and the team, so patient and extremely profassional, to the level of perfection i will recommend this experience to anyone who would ike to extend the limits he thoght he had. its a much deeper experience than you think it is. thank you Tiago, Linardo, Adriana who take care of us at the lodge and Antonio our very nice driver

Tiago's coaching is incredible! He knows exactly what you need to hear to improve the fastest. The lodge, surf boards, and transport to the best beaches for the conditions are an incredible value, but the coaching is worth so much more! We were a bit unlucky with the conditions, but still had so much fun and improved our surfing immensely with cross training. The food was excellent and healthy and the lodge is a relaxing retreat.

Mauka Lodge SUP surf trip was so much fun! Tiago is so great & really makes the trip so personal through individual SUP coaching. Tiago also takes you to explore / do more tourist activities when you aren't surfing. He came out to dinner with the group or gave us recommendations. We were able to do & see so much while we were there in addition to SUP surfing. It was an all around wonderful trip & you can tell Tiago puts so much time & effort into the experience for his guests. It was such an incredible experience & I can't wait to go back!!!

I have been in Mauka Lodge from 31 august until 6 September. I felt at home and Tiago made a big effort in all group lived a real, dinamic and local paddle surf experience. It not just a SUP camp in Portugal, it’s a place where you test your level, improve your paddle surf skills and make new awesome friends with the same interest like you. It wasn't my first sup surfing camp experience, but Mauka Lodge has exceeded any of my more optimistic expectations. Tiago's level of coaching, professionalism, attention to detail and friendliness made him the ideal coach and friend with whom improve our surfing skills, having at the same time a lot of fun. The location offers both privacy and enjoyable community spaces, all the rooms are spacious, cosy and with modern facilities (and really comfortable bed). Food at breakfast and lunch is good, fresh and healthy. What else... Mauka Lodge has became my own little surfing paradise!

Had a week to just go surfing and improve my skills, I made new friends and was taken care of with full dedication by Tiago and his staff! expect: a retreat to calm down and focus on your surfing skills, healthy food, massage, yoga, sauna, and mental down time.. do not expect: 5 star hotel, surfing conditions on demand, your own fisical condition to be an atleet first day out... 100% recomendable, I advised to get in shape to make the most out of your stay! I stayed at the quiet and cozy mauka lodge for a week in april and it was great. Tiago took a lot of time for me and my level of performance and I learned a lot. We went to different spots because tiago always picked the best ones for us. It was amazing. I will definitely come again.

My wife and me had 4 nights in Mauka Lodge and three days of surf instruction with Tiago. We loved it! The Lodge is cozy, quiet and has a great garden with big trees and a perfect view on the sunset over the sea. The housekeeper Paola pampered us with a great breakfast and tasty salads for picknick on the beach. And thanks to Tiago’s calm and constructive training in the ocean, we improved our SUP surfing skills a lot. We are looking forward to our next stay with Tiago!

He and his team take care of everything and bring you to the best beaches according to the best suitable conditions. The lodge is 5 min to all the beaches in Ericeira. 30 min to Lisbon or Peniche. A true retreat experience. Every effort was made by Tiago and his team to cater for a true SUP surfing adventure. The lodge is situated in a perfect location to access supreme spots and combined with Tiago´s expertise we were able to surf in empty line ups for the duration of our stay. I highly recommend a visit to Mauka lodge if you are looking at improving your Sup surfing skills and enjoy all the wonders Portugal has to offer. We will be back no doubt.
