First of all, it has to be said that the staff at reception were exceptionally helpful and pleasant. We liked the facilities and its close proximity to town. Our stay at Selina would have been great, had it not been for the unkind behaviour of one of the managers at the restaurant. We were there for one night to celebrate my husband’s birthday and hired a babysitter to look after our two small children (1 and 4 years old) while we went out to dinner. During dinner, our babysitter called us to let us know that she and our children were asked to leave the restaurant area because the kids were eating takeaway pasta. This is aggravating because :- a) there were no kids menu b) most of the items were spicy, saucy and not suitable for children c)the only thing they could eat was the quesadilla and we already fed them that that afternoon d) the babysitter had ordered from the Mexican menu of the hostel and should not be kicked out just because the kids were eating pasta. He even had the audacity to say that, “you wouldn’t bring Mexican food to eat at an Italian restaurant.” As a mother with two small children that have travelled to many places, I have never encountered such uncompassionate and cold behaviour from a staff member. After kicking them out, he didn’t offer them a high chair, which was the main reason why she ordered her food from the restaurant, so she could feed them while having dinner herself. I can understand that he was only following the rules, but in this case, the babysitter is ordered from menu. She shouldn’t get kicked out just because of the kids food. Everywhere even in airlines, toddlers are given the concession to bring their own food because of allergies/food sensitivites etc. Needless to say, we couldn’t enjoy our dinner worrying if our babysitter and kids are ok. This manager seriously needs to be reprimanded or if he was just blindly and coldheartedly following orders, then the hotel should think about including a kids menu so that parents or caregivers could have dinner in the restaurant without the risk of getting kicked out. A big disappointment, to say they least, to end our stay at Selina.

The Selina in Ericeira is absolutely gorgeous! The staff members make the place homey and are so welcoming! The manager, Karen, even took home my sweater and washed it for me, when I spilled red wine all over it. The other team members, such as Meridith, Annouk, Marlena, and others created a nice vibe. The only negative about this place is there is no cowork, so if you have a lot of work calls, I don’t recommend it. Other than that, I am sure you will enjoy your stay here. :)

I really enjoyed my stay at Selina. Friendly staff, more amenities than I could have thought of, and also great guests that I was lucky to come across. Chapeau! The cleaning staff was also on top of everything, ensuring cleanliness a few times per day.

I really enjoyed my time in this hostel. There were so cool and helpful people at the reception and i met many awsome other guests there. the evenings on the beautiful terrace (with sea view and sunset) felt like in a group of friends. All the rooms, bathrooms, toilets and the kitchen were cleaned every day very properly. So if you want to spend a good time at a nice place, selinas is definitely well recommendable!

I visited Selina and planned to stay for a week in the Ericeira, Portugal hostel. I ended up staying for a month. The building is incredibly beautiful and very relaxing. The staff our amazing! I've never been to a hostel in all the years I've travelled that really make you feel at home. Location is perfect and the food and drinks are great! I met alot of amazing people from all over the world, who I will definitely keep in touch with and this was down to the atmosphere and energy Selina beamed with! I wouldn't choose another place to stay moving forward! Thank you to all the staff and wonderful travellers I've met ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I have stayed at several Selina's in South/Central America and was always impressed with the quality as they stand out amongst most other hostels there. Unfortunately this was not the case in Ericeira. Overall, the hostel feels very cramped and poorly designed. The main kitchen area is TINY considering how many people congregate there. In my 4-bed dorm, I could barely even open my suitcase on the floor because there was no space. The beds creaked very loud if you move at night. The lockers in the rooms also don't have the ability to put a lock on them (why even have them?). Most of the rooms upstairs are next to the kitchen, so if anyone is making noise you will instantly hear it. Overall it was not a comfortable stay like other experiences I've had with Selina, mostly due to the cramped layout of the hostel. Some positives however: The bar/restaurant area is nice and the rooftop sunset views are amazing, plus the free yoga class is a nice touch. The people staying there were friendly and most everyone is there to surf/relax so it's a great vibe, but if you're looking for something comfortable and good value, I would look elsewhere.

For the price I would have expected a bit more. The place is very noisy all day long, the restaurant has constantly loud music on, so it makes it impossible to have a quiet place if you need to work or concentrate. Staff was ok. Regarding customer service I was not particularly impressed, neither for the reception or the restaurant. The kitchen is incredibly small, I don’t understand how they can think that’s enough for the whole hostel. It was a constant wait to cook as there are only two stoves. The rooftop is a nice place to hang out, if the weather is good. I really enjoyed the yoga lessons. The beds look like coffins, but I must say I had the best sleep of my life there, I should consider it for my bed at home. I was lucky to have a bathroom in my 6bed dorm, which I think is the only one that has a private bathroom for the room. Overall for the price and what they offer I don’t think I would come back.

The room was very cozy and the terrace was very nice with an amazing view. One thing I would change from that room is the bed, it makes too much noise. Location is unbelievable and you can easily find a parking spot. The staff was very sweet and nice. Absolutely would recommend!

Beautiful place and nice AC, but no First Aid kit on the property, which is somewhat questionable. Also somewhat loud traffic since it’s right in town.

Very modern hostel with great location. Everything was very neat. The bed was very comfortable. The most positive thing that stood out was the staff. They were so nice that you felt very comfortable and at home!!

We loved our stay at this Selina. Cool building, great private room with a balcony, 3 minute walk to the beautiful town. Lovely staff who navigated difficulties well (last minute yoga instructor cancellation, changing of catering). Overall a great experience!

I had an Ok time at Selina Ericeira, it's quite well located, the bar and rooftop are quite nice and the food ok. Yoga was amazing as they've GREAT teachers coming mostly everyday, the staff was also quite nice. The location is very close to the city centre and to lots of restaurants, bars, etc. However the whole hotel feels very cramped, I was glad I had a private room to have some space, I would not recommend spending nights in a dorm as the common areas are pretty small given the amount of people that can stay there. Also there's no co-working space, it's very loud, they play CONSTANT music which is SO annoying, maybe stop that music during the day at least..The sound proofing of the room is not amazing, so bring your ear plugs. Finally, doors are CONSTANTLY slammed and makes it impossible to chill or work without putting headphones. In contrast, I had a better time at Selina Peniche that is more chill, way bigger and offers a proper and very nice co-working space.

Booking process was awful, website and app did not work. Via the chat someone helped me to make a reservation which I confirmed and completed via Email. However the systems of Selina did not process what was needed, hence the booking was not processed... Am stuck in a loop-of-no and support is non-existing. Bad, bad, bad experience! No place to stay and the Selina team is not helping what-so-ever.

The rooms were amazing, bed very comfy and had AC. The kitchen space was always clean and had everything you could ever need. the pool area is also very enjoyable! The staff members were always super helpful. Nicole was especially kind and always took the time to help me! The hostel is very close to the town center and the beaches.

I’ve never found a more better hostel. There was waves like you wouldn’t imagine 2-3meters. The women at the front desk, Anouk was literally the best human I’ve ever met in my life. There’s paintings everywhere and a Mexican restaurant downstairs that has some insane nachos and quesadillas. The passion fruit spicy margarita is to die for, but if you want some real 🔥🔥🔥stuff order a original margarita shook with spicy stuff. Thank you for a great stay, can’t wait to come back. Thanks for the smiles. The mold in the bathrooms is a little rough but I believe they are going to clean it as they had a lot of visitors. Great community

My husband and I did beginner surfing lessons with Daniel- he was an excellent teacher with a very focused lesson and wonderful individual advice and a friendly positive enthusiastic attitude towards every student. We met som lovely young people in the process and I found the entire thing very well organoEd while still being a fun a Bd relaxed experience.

Okay first of all, the food... I had a vegan breakfast there. A delicious vegan peanut butter and banana smoothie, and also asked for a vegan breakfast option. Cathy (hope I got the name right) had a few suggestions and then also mentioned that she could try a new dish out on me, but wouldn't be able to to say how it was going to turn out. Barely paid attention to what was going to be in it, her creative spark was on fire so I just said that I thought it sounded dope. And man, dope it was! She's a real chef! It ended up being rally tasty! Eating plant based leaves you with few options in many parts of the world, so I can't say how much I appreciated the fact she went out of her way. Really made my day and put a huge smile on my face. The hostel is clean and nice, and the staff is super friendly. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again when I'm in town, but most of all, would love to eat Cathy's vegan breakie there again! Hope she still works there when I stay there next. Much love from Stockholm

Great vibes, extra friendly staff. We got a private room with bathroom and it also had a balcony which was nice. The place also has a cafe so you can eat in if you don't feel like going out. It's very close to the supermarket and there's free parking outside. That's all the good stuff. I really wanted to leave this place a 5 star review but - this place has a small kitchen that people can cook in, that didn't have enough utensils and was dirty most of the time (residents apparently don't like cleaning after themselves).

Had a blast staying here for two weeks! Best rooftop terrace for sunset, awesome staff, and super nice pool lounge area. Also there's a great middle eastern restaurant connected to the hostel. Definitely recommend!

there is a suitable place for a cafe by the pool with a sunset! but my experience was simply disappointing in this place, I left my business cards where they were accepted and when I returned after a week I had the information that they were all thrown in the trash!! I feel disappointed with this kind of attitude of the human being...

🫤 Seafood was not fresh, very disappointing. Crab was full of mayonnaise even though we requested no mayonnaise. If you want fresh seafood don’t waste your money here.

😠 60min wait for a açaí bowl and avocado toast (it was not a busy day), no sorry nothing just a rude response from the waitress when asking about our order after 45min - açaí bowl is tiny and no granola, thinnest layer of avocado on the toast. Definitely not coming back after this experience!

👍👍 Having read many reviews this is one of the best Portuguese food in the town and I have to agree! Very friendly staff, english speaking. Menu consists of traditional Portuguese food and see food. Great choice of wines, go for Vinho Verde (you get this wine only in Portugal) and it is well paired wit...
