I felt an obligation to post this honest and transparent review so no one else ends up in the unfortunate position we are in. We stayed for an enjoyable 3 months at Surf Vida, the community of tenants were charming, sadly the owner Jessica Roberts is not. Jessica is unpredictable, volatile and unprofessional in the way she speaks to her tenants and the way she conducts her business. When we met at the flat on the 'move out day' in person, Jessica highlighted no issues at this time when we did a walk around together. But then vicious messages and emailed followed, which was very stressful and damaging. Jessica didn’t do an inventory when we moved in but then decided to charge us for whatever she felt like on our departure. We were charged an upfront €50 cleaning deposit, which was not used on cleaning when we left. She then charged us €300 for very minor things. Ericeira is such a great town, with amazing people and awesome community vibes, it makes me very sad when people like Jessica take advantage of others. There are many great places to stay in Ericeira, I wouldn’t advise anyone to take the risk of staying at Surf Vida. I very rarely leave negative reviews, but when something like this happens, I feel a duty to help others avoid. In expectation of a deceitful follow-up, I’ll post images of communications from Surf Vida for full transparency.

I've been to Surf Vida twice and both times were quite comfortable. Idan who is the main person to connect with knows Ericeira and the area well, from food to surfing to the little things that make the difference. Rooms/work areas are clean, and there is a small workout room and hot tub ;<). Would highly recommend.

Amazing place! The room was really nice and clean and the great kitchen made us cook all of our meals! We really felt at home thanks to Idan the manager, he gave us the best recommendations for everything we asked him for (restaurants, bars, surfing, helpful apps, were to travel in the area around and many other things) and generally helped us with our next locations of our travel in Portugal. Thank you so much! The location to the beach is also really nice since we didn't rent a car. Its a really nice balance between privacy and meeting other interesting people while cooking next to each other(:

Great stay

We broke down with our van when it was already dark outside and were in need of a place to stay. Never would we have thought to find such a nice and welcoming place. Super clean, super nice, amazing and caring host for a more than reasonable price. 10/10 would recommend!

I've really had a nice stay there! Lovely people and especially Idan, the manager of the house, helped a lot with everything - knows where to surf when and has plenty of recommendations apart from that. For sure I'm coming back!

WOW - this place exceeded my expectations. I stayed here for a month, working full time and it was the easiest place to stay. Idan was super helpful through out my stay. The house has coffee and tea refills, more than weekly cleanings and advice for anywhere around town. They have a great coworking space and the wifi is incredible. There is also yoga, weights, bikes and boards to use at any time. The area it is in is a bit quieter which is perfect for working - as well as a mini Mercado near by. The beach is a 10 min walk! Nothing but good things to say, I for sure will be back ! :)

Really good accommodation with nice rooms, big common areas and a modern kitchen. Outside area/garden which was great for just relaxing or having breakfast outside. The included bike rental was great for quickly getting into the town centre in just 5 minutes (15 min walk). Very welcoming and helpful host. Highly recommend!

Had an amazing week at surf vida! The place itself has everything you need and just a short walk into town and beaches, it's a big plus having free bikes to get around on as well. There is a nice outdoor area with a BBQ and an amazing butcher just up the road. Jessica was a great host as well, would definitely recommend and will hopefully get to come back soon!

We were staying at Surf Vida for the whole month of May, working remotely. The place and Ericeira were extraordinary, especially the ocean with beautiful beaches and cliffs. We met a lot of cool people, who encouraged us to try surfing (we hadn’t done it before). Ericeira is a perfect place for that with surf schools and surf spots (we chose Ocean Surf School). We stayed at a lower apartment, it was well equipped and clean. We could also use the gym, coworking space, BBQ grill and hot tub. Jessica, the owner, was very helpful and answered every question we had. We really enjoyed our stay there, feeling relaxed and rested afterwards, and hope to come back to Portugal one day.

Ideal place for people who are looking into catching some waves and having a good time.

We had a great time at Surf Vida! Jessica is a wonderful host, very kind, responsive, flexible. Everything was totally transparent, she gave us great recommendations, the place is very cute, clean and has everything you need for a short stay that we had, but also perfect for a longer stay if you plan to work from there. We loved the communal area. It has great vibes, it’s cozy, comfortable, nicely furnished and has a relaxing view to the ocean. And there are many other facilities that you can use. It’s easier to rent an Ebike, but getting in the center of Ericeira is absolutely walkable. We’ve done it a few times. Thanks for everything Jessica, we had a wonderful time!
