We loved this place! Visitor center is free and the Park Rangers are amazing. There’s a little theater, where you can watch a video about the monument. It’s also a museum and a gift shop.

A must see while in the area, especially for those interested in the Oregon trail. A very nice visitor’s center with friendly, knowledgeable Rangers. There are several nice, paved hiking trails with great views of Scott’s Bluff and the surrounding area. It is very easy to enjoy a half day or more at this national monument.

Visited this national monument on our way from Denver to Mount Rushmore. Very organized visitor center and beautiful lookout points and a rich history associated with fur traders. Would definitely recommend stopping by this place!

My wife's father and his family grew up in Scott's Bluff and we were back for a family reunion May 2022. The weather was clear, warm and perfect for a drive to the top of the Bluff. You could see for over 25 miles. Some of the flowers and cactus were starting to bloom. We need to replace the information signs because they are difficult to read. Paths and trails are great for walking or hiking. The museum has great exhibits with a lot of information about the Oregon Trail. We really enjoyed our visit.

Great Monument to visit. It is windy early but the sunrise over the plains is absolutely breathtaking. One of the most refreshing morning walks I have had in a while. Convenient parking. Wheelchair accessible. Although you can not drive up early in the morning, you can walk up! Constance Anderson-Sweatt

Being a history buff on the Oregon Trail, this is a must visit spot. The view from on top of the Monument is breath taking. Only wish there's restroom on the top because I had my kids with me. It was a challenge to rush back to the car and drive down quickly to get to the restroom in the visitors office area.

We loved exploring this national monument! The trails at the top are family friendly - not to hard or long. It was a great way to spend the morning while exploring Scottsbluff!

A beautiful oasis on the prairie, rich in history and a place to gather for friends and family. I spent my childhood riding my bike with friends to the visitors center, then hiking to the tunnel, and eating a sack lunch. We loved our sweet little home town where we could look down and find our homes on the town area below. As an adult, we’ve enjoyed hikes, drives, and currently a memorial service for classmates who have passed. The beautiful pines, the well-maintained trails, and the views are amazing. Thanks for keeping this place clean, raw, and special.

Fantastic place to walk for a few hours. Either hike up & down, ride up or if you are not feeling like hiking up, ride up then hike down.

Clean bathrooms, a water refill station, and some of the nicest National Parks Staff that we have met..! Definitely worth visiting, to include a small museum and a very informative movie that the staff can start on request for you.

Very hospitable staff and docents. Great hiking trail. Info displays (indoors and on the trail) were well done.

Very nice Visitor Center. The talk by a ranger on the telegraph was awesome. Can drive up to the summit with short walking trails nearby...bring a walking stick. Great views with a fascinating history.

The monument itself is great with miles-long views, good parking, and paved trails - even for those mobility or endurance impaired. The museum presented a shockingly white-washed version of history that i'd thought the Park Service was moving away from. Very little mention of the indigenous or natural history of the monument. Rangers readily gave expanded verbal history, flora, & fauna education, but there was nothing of the exhibits that would prompt one to ask for that interaction.

Small museum but interesting. Some geological information, but more importantly documents the history of the Oregon Trail through this region and its significance. Makes for a nice visit and the views from atop the bluff are amazing.

Short drive to the summit, from where you can hike 3 easy trails. No clean water the day we visited but porta potties were available.

Very interesting place to visit, and the staff were super friendly and informative. We loved our visit, the only downside is that you will need a face covering to see the indoor museum as per federal park rules even though the cdc says no 🤷‍♂️ It's very warm inside, so please be sure to have a water bottle with you as wearing a face covering makes it even more so. Other than that, a nice display and certainly worth seeing. Don't forget to make a donation to this special place, as places such as these museums hold vast information of our past for our future 😊

We arrived at 5:25 pm. The ranger manning the entrance informed us that they close the gates up to the bluff at 5:30, but that we were still welcome to drive up. We thought we only had five minutes total, but the park actually doesn’t close until 6 pm. Even so, we drove up, took a few pictures, and then drove back down. The road was twisty along steep drop-offs, but didn’t feel dangerous; maybe because there was enough of a shoulder? The tunnels were fun to drive through. The views from the parking area at the top of the bluff were nice. It was worth doing, but if we’re ever back, I’d like to plan enough time to walk the trails and see the displays in the visitor center.
