I started to visit this fish store since this March. I used to go the other store, but after I found this one, I noticed there are more choices here, although the price is higher, I decided to shop here since then. They helped you to save money by providing membership, other discount day and so on. The most attractive thing is this “trading cards collection”, and on Instagram I saw people got a 29 gallons tank(worth $400-$500+) as the award. I am excited about this and started to buy in the store time after time. This August I finally got all the cards but they told me no award for now and I need to wait. That is ok and I checked with them several time on Instagram, and today they ask me to call them. I directly went to the store. What a surprise, they offer me a $50 gift card!?? They just destroyed my day. They said price changes. And they of course have all right to decide what the award is. But after waiting 2 month, $50, seriously?? I spent thousands of dollars here, bought some $400 $300 corals here. do I care about $50 gift card? A free Uber round trip from my home to the store?? I hope it’s a joke but it’s not. So everyone, just don’t believe this promotion. It’s nothing. I’d rather keep the cards my self. Thanks. This is fake advertising. 10.10 update: thanks for Patrick’s email and I can feel he really cares about costumers. I received a 29 gallon tank set and a set of signed trading cards as gifts. Traveled nearly 100 miles to obtain hard to find freshwater fish. The facility is large capacity fresh & salt water fish. Lots of medicines & water treatments to choose from as well as aquarium accessories, stones, & aquarium necessities. Aquariums were clean with wide variety of healthy, colorful, unusual choices. Fish vary in price & size. Staff is friendly & would recommend for the beginner to the experienced.

It's a fish store. And they have fish. I don't know much about fish but my boyfriend does. They have chairs provided so I can sit and be the "non-fish person" in the relationship as my partner spends all our money. 😭

Brought my limping Fruval canister filter in and within minutes the problem was analysed and corrected. Patrick and Matthew were on it instantly and are fantastic. Customer service at it's best. Thanks guys...

I am absolutely rocked. This place is beyond amazing I have no words. Definitely going back. Staff is super friendly and I was approached multiple times seeing if I needed help. Place is very clean and organized with a large selection of fish. I'm blown away. Prices are very reasonable as well. MUST GO!!!!!

This is a great fish store filled with experts and lots of help. They have a large selection of both saltwater and freshwater fish. I so really enjoy the freshwater section because it starts in the back from 'common/easy to care for' and each aisle up, the level of care increases. The store is very well organized and maintained.

Fantastic store. Wide selection of fish and corals, both fresh water and salt water. Staff are knowledgeable and happy to help. Can get crowded, especially on Sundays, but the quality of their products and the pleasant shopping experience is worth it.

Excellent trip for everything I needed for a nano aquarium including tank, decor, plants and fish. Nice collection of fresh and salt water fish. Just happened to go on a sale day! Extremely happy and will definitely visit again.

I have to come back and spend the day here! Truly amazing store in so many ways. Mind boggling variety of fish, etc and everything looks super healthy. The fish & inverts I bought that day are healthy and thriving! Cam is a doll and patiently answered a bunch of questions even though it was almost closing time. My only complaint is this girl I was handed off to seemed pretty clueless. I intended on picking up a couple of Ramshorn snails, but somehow wound up with a couple of mystery snails. I don't know much about Mystery/Apple snails other than they get BIG. When I expressed my concern, she told me it would take ten years for these snails to grow the size of a golf ball. Turns out that's nonsense. The two I bought have quadrupled in size in 4 weeks. And no mystery snail lives for a decade LoL. So unfortunately I have to return these two, which is too bad bcs I really like them but don't have room in a nano tank.

I have had such an amazing experience getting a tank from them. Coming in from Brooklyn, it was hard to find a tank by me and they were super accommodating as far as time goes and had great communication. From conversations I had with staff they all seem to be very knowledgeable. Going to have to come by for livestock.

In my wife and I's journey into the Aquarium hobby we've been to three different fish stores. We drive 35 minutes to absolutely fish because they clearly care about the fish, and are SUPER helpful/welcoming. One store we went to, one of the clerks basically outright said that fish can be basically ignored, and you could see them selling fish that weren't as healthy. On the other hand absolutely fish will put signs up saying they won't sell fish in a certain tank because they're being treated for illness. That's something that I think speaks volumes to what type of product they provide, and more importantly the care that goes into the fish they sell.

Great place to shop for anything aquariums related. Staffed with very knowledgeable employees that can answer just about any question. Have been shopping here for years and will continue to do so in the future. Big box pet stores pale in comparison in the quality and selection of both salt and fresh water fish and crustaceans.

The absolute best fish store i have ever been too. They had the most unique assortment I have ever seen anywhere.

Literally fascinating. Besides the staff being super helpful and super knowledgeable, I was shooketh. The fish are SOOOOOO COOOOOLLLL. We went to this store instead of the aquarium beverage I was having a “I want to see fish” craving and I’m glad we went here because we saw more than an aquarium would show us. We saw fish I’ve never seen before and you can buy them. We only came to look but it was great because now my husband has agreed to get a fish tank in the near future (he said maybe even a few) and we will go specifically here because we love it.

This store has to be one of the most well kept for its size. They have a huge salt and freshwater selections from fish to coral and plants. They have excellent prices on plants but are very pricey on reefs and saltwater compared to other local stores. It does make sense having prices this high because they have such a huge store and excellent customer service. They probably had at least 10 people out on the floor helping customers. Will definitely come back for any freshwater and plant needs highly recommended.

I absolutely love this place, staff are amazing always up and down asking customers if they need help, suggesting compatible fish and eager to answer questions. Also, very responsible during these times with Covid-19. Will continue to be a loyal customer!

Staff was incredibly friendly and did their best to answer all of my questions. They had a good selection of fresh and saltwater fish, corals, and dry goods. I really liked that they had both common and uncommon species. I had a little trouble seeing fish in the top row of tanks, but I'm pretty short.

Super friendly and well-stocked. Fish are healthy and there’s a good variety. The staff really took the time to chat and answer questions (and ask them) to be sure the fish we purchased would be ok. Thanks, also, for being safe! Requiring masks and limiting numbers of people in the store means we can all enjoy it and still feel confident about the safety of children or other vulnerable folks. It’s the right decision and shows you care about your customers and your community.

This place is amazing, my go to place for everything aquarium related. They have beautiful aquarium displays set up for you to enjoy as you shop as well. My only issue is some items are a little pricey especially the aquarium plants. But besides that. 👍🏻👍🏻

A great experience! Recently set up a small "starter tank" (20gal.) and had questions about how to proceed. Manager Eric, as well as Renata, Peyton, & David, were tremendously helpful. We have now returned a few times and always receive excellent advice. The fishes purchased there are healthy & thriving, much to our family's delight. One of the best fish stores that's local to the area. Pros: - All of the employees that work here are really passionate about what they do. When I first started this hobby in 2018 and they knew it was my first aquarium, they asked me a bunch of questions to make sure I was fully ready to take care of the fish I wanted. - The tanks are very well maintained. At other fish stores, I always see a dead fish or two in their aquariums or I see specific kinds of fish not getting the specific care that they need. The fish here are always swimming happily and any fish that have specific husbandry requirements are always taken care of correctly. Cons: - The staff seem a bit distant at times. It can also be a bit hard to find help sometimes because they are always busy. - The fish are a bit on the pricier side, but they are worth the extra money in my opinion knowing the care that they get.

This Store is great. I had just started to get in the hobby of fish keeping and this was the place for me. Jeremy Who is now my good friend was a great help through my whole start up. I now have many tanks that are healthy and properly set up with beautiful fish. Couldn't be more satisfied with customer service as they are truly there for the people. Would recommend over and over. Beautiful place and awesome selection. They have everything from common fish, to exotic eels and stingrays. Knowledgeable and helpful staff will guide you from owning a basic setup to a beautiful living reef ecosystem in your own home. Prices are a little steep, but quality is well worth it.

I love to go here and look at the fish. They have a great variety. I will say though, the one time my boyfriend bought fish from here, a small school of them, they all died and spread whatever they had to the fish he already had, causing a mass extinction. He has not bought fish there since.

I've had some struggles getting my tank started after 20 years out of the hobby and I probably would have given up if it wasn't for the help from the staff at Absolutely Fish. Mike the freshwater manager in particular has walked me through the process of finding the correct stock for our tank. I travel 30 minutes past multiple other stores to choose Absolutely Fish and it's well worth it. The variety of fish here is excellent as are the aquascaping selection.

I travel 45 minutes to get my fish from here. All employees are trained and knowledgeable about all types of aquatics. Prices are compatible with big box stores and the fish here are healthy and not stressed. They are very passionate about aquatics. Very cool place to visit, too, just to see the variety of fish and corals.

The staff here are amazing and sold me on getting an aquarium as a hobby. I was on the fence before visiting the store and wasn't sure how complicated the chemistry of the water and finding the right fish and equipment would be. I was helped by a number of staff through the day who were not trying to drive me towards a sale but were able to answer each and every one of my questions. I did not end up purchasing anything on my first visit to the store but I will absolutely be back in the near future once I am ready to buy. For the amount of assistance and knowledge I got in just a short visit I can not reccomend this place enough!

Best Fish store in North Jersey hands down. The prices are a bit high but the fish, both fresh and saltwater are always well maintained and healthy. They also carry a large offering of many different supplies and add ons.

Friendly staff, very helpful. They follow social distancing rules very strictly, so it might be a little while before you are able to get in (15 customers inside at a given time) so get there early. Great resource for both saltwater and freshwater enthusiasts. Can find almost anything for your tanks: fish, filters, plants, substrate, accessories and much more. Highly recommended.

I’ve been a customer for over ten years - hands down, the best place to go for educating yourself before taking on a tank project. Word of wisdom: listen to their staff when they give advice on how to successfully start and maintain a tank! They know the do’s and dont’s and they will give you the best tools and tips to have a beautiful setup.

This place is awesome! My son and I went to get some fish for his 20 gallon freshwater tank. We are total Newbies, and Kaleb (Caleb) was incredibly patient with us and walked us through the process step by step. He also showed us a bunch of options to get my son's tank started. Highly recommend this place!

An amazing fish store! I had a young employee help me out and not gonna lie I was a little apprehensive because of his age but holy moly that kid knew so much. He really helped me pick out some fish that were betta friendly and was so knowledgeable in the cycling process. I recommend this shop for newbies and experiences aquarists alike!

Good shop. Stocked with all kinds of fish and supplies. Better than anything in the area. It’s been busy whenever I go but the staff is always helpful. Bring something comfortable to wear inside during cold weather, they keep it warm in the shop.

The people working here are very knowledgeable and helpful. There is normally a wait to get in but its worth it. There are so many beautiful fish in here and they have the largest selection of tank accessories and fish food that I have seen so far. Great experience, maybe a virtual waiting room to enter would be better so people wouldn't have to wait outside as its getting colder but its still a great experience once you get in.

I think I've rated this place before but it's still the Walmart, Costco, bj's, sam's club of the aquarium world...they are simply thee best when it comes to fish (freshwater or saltwater)....I love this place😉😉😉👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I saw a video of this store years ago as a kid and it blew my mind the selection of rare fish stock that they were capable of acquiring. I’m from westchester county but little did I know years later I found out this amazing store is in Clifton New Jersey! I made the trip down within days of learning this news and I was speechless. Best aquarium store I have ever visited hands down. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and will pick up the phone every time you call to answer your questions. Fish are reasonably priced and this store gives the greatest discounts on livestock that you can hear about if you sign up with their customer special deals program. I’ll be making the hour trip every time to Clifton from this point on when I go to buy my fish

The owner was just rude, yelling on the phone. They recommended us something that wiped out our entire tank and refuse to admit it.

Absolutely Fish has been my family's supplier for our 45-gallon reef tank. Before that, we shopped with them since I was a middle school student. The staff are beyond friendly and knowledgeable. Simply going in is like visiting an aquarium. There is straightforward pricing, and their advice on maintaining any tank has improved many people's experience tending aquatic life. I cannot recommend a small business in Passaic County that helps restore home tanks more outside sizeable corporate pet stores. For a lot of heart and a beautiful view, visit soon and ask any questions you have to the standout employees.

Dropped from maintenance service for 'asking' about my bill. I was set up for maintenance on my 300 gal mixed reef aquarium. The service personnel was professional and knowledgeable. They arrived as scheduled and, not only did they perform the scheduled maintenance, they made suggestions as to how I could better maintain my tank. After two visits, I had called and left a message for the Maintenance Manager Patrick to inquire about my invoicing. e.g. Do I pay per man or per hour or per call ect. The information would serve to inform my bookkeeping as I write off the maintenance as a business expense. Somehow, my inquiry was translated as me saying that there I have a problem with my bill. I did receive a call back from Patrick but was unable to take the call at the time. Subsequently, my next schedule appointment was cancelled. I called to inquire and was informed that Absolutely Fish would no longer 'be able' to provide maintenance service for my tank. I was told first that the reason was 'terminated' was because my tank was too complex, then I was told that they were too busy, then I was told - the service person - that because I had a problem with my billing that he didn't think I was going to be serviced any longer..... I was completely blindsided and ultimately flabbergasted by and at the turn of events. Particularly because I was simply asking, "How do you bill".

I am very pleased to change my initial review...... although there were problems with my order, the owner cared enough to reach out to me and go over what had happened..... anyone can make a mistake but it's more important how you handle it..... he was able to take an unfortunate situation and make it a positive learning experience for everyone..... thank you again..... definitely deserves five stars.....

I think the prices are a bit to expensive. i work at a pet store and i knew the places they got most of there stuff from and they definitely charge more for what they for. Other wise the staff and managers are friendly and helpful.

Exceptional experience with this place, the way employees caring about fishes and your home care for them is mind blowing. We been coming here for a long time with my daughter, started with one fish bowl abut she would come sometimes just walk around and see what they have new. Their year we bought reef tank from them and experience we went with everyone in the store cannot describe with words, they don’t just sell you they offer ongoing support, advices. So highly recommend this place and if you do not have yet fish tank please get one as it better then any other pets.

This was our first time at this store. We were impressed with the many different kinds and quality of aquatic life. Rich Harris showed us around and was very knowledgeable and polite. He helped us pick out fish and plants that were suitable for my tank and experience level. He provided us with great tips on taking care of and enjoying our aquarium. It’s like buying paper at Dunder Mifflin: extremely friendly family like service, and employees are not only knowledgeable but also helpful. However, the fish, tanks, corals, equipment, and food are a bit more expensive than buying online. but overall I’d still come here to buy because I know I’m getting the best quality and advice

Every single fish that I have bought here has died on me! The place is always super packed so you'll think that It must be a good store to buy you fish from but unfortunately my experience has been not great! All my ottos and rummy nose died one a day! And this is not the first time! But they do carry other products that are truly great and that is correct! But I guess maybe they need to care a lil more for their fish. That's my opinion!

This is an amazing store for all your aquatic needs. They have a huge variety of salt water and fish water fish as well as soft and hard corals. The staff is very informative and helpful. I wouldn't recommend going on the weekend though because they don't seem like they know how to handle a rush and if you need help they won't give you as much attention as you need and you will feel rushed if you have questions.
