A small island of tranquillity in the city of Hyères. Great view and plenty of benches where you can find shadow in the afternoon heat.

Hübsch angelegter und gepflegter öffentlicher Park mit Terrassen über mehrere Ebenen. Sehr schöner Aussichtsturm ganz oben. Eintritt umsonst. Wer Gärten in Hyéres besichtigen will, sollte erst hierher und dann zum nah gelegenen St. Bernhard-Park gehen. Der andere Park ist nämlich im direkten Vergleich noch etwas eindrucksvoller und größer.

Sehr schöner, exotischer Park mit schönen Pflanzen und Blumen, tollen Aussichten und geschmackvoll angelegten Plätzen.

Magnifique et somptueux parc !.. Même sous la grisaille !!.. Fleurs.. Arbres et plantes !!.. En abondance... Dégages parfums et couleurs qui ravissent l esprit !.. Dépaysement total... Je recommande vivement si vous passez par là !!..

Il Castello di Santa Clara è in realtà una casa costruita nel 1849 da Olivier Voutier, ufficiale di marina e rinomato archeologo: fu lo scopritore della Venere di Milo nel 1820 durante una missione nelle Cicladi. La residenza fu poi costruita sulle fondamenta di un ex convento occupato dalle Clarisse, risalente al XVII secolo. La proprietà fu allora la residenza invernale della scrittrice americana Edith Wharton dal 1920 al 1937. Fu lei a organizzare il giardino botanico: molte specie esotiche furono così scelte per comporre questo vasto parco paesaggistico di 6.500 mq, sulle alture la città, dalla quale si gode di una vista mozzafiato sul porto. Intorno al Castello-villa vi è un bellissimo parco, il Parco di Santa Clara appunto. Il tutto è stato acquisito nel 1955 dal Comune. Il Castel, in uno stile neoromanico piuttosto fantasioso, è messo a disposizione del Parco Nazionale di Port-Cros, che ne ospita i servizi amministrativi. Con l'etichetta Remarkable Garden, il parco è comunque accessibile al pubblico.

Un très joli parc, des plantes et fleurs partout. Un charme du sud très coloré et qui sent bon ! Un bon après midi assuré en visitant ce parc et en profitant de son point de vue sur Hyères.
