It’s hard to find an accurate description of the experience one will have at Le Restaurant - all I can say is it felt world class. From the moment you enter the doors you’re met with incredibly friendly service from the small staff working this intimate setting. Menus posted to boards on the walls provide simplicity, yet the small amount of choices are varied enough you’ll spend time torn between what to choose. Every dish coming out of the kitchen is perfection. I truly believe I had not experienced REAL French cuisine until tonight. The small atmosphere and friendly staff made it feel as if the dishes were being made for a select few tonight- from the ceviche (wow), filet (immaculate) to dessert we were silent as we dove into each course. Seriously. Book well ahead of time and make sure you try this place out while in Toulouse.

One of the best restaurants in Toulouse! We were lucky to get a last minute reservation, and had the most wonderful evening. Fantastic service, amazing food, all round great evening. Will definitely return when we visit Toulouse again in the future, and I'll be telling all my friends to come here too.

This was an entirely satisfying dinner: a duck breast (Magret Rocamadour) that was juicy, tender and soft and with a pink heart, and was filled with the cheese that the particular dish was named after. The service was extremely helpful and took the time to translate and explain each and every dish into English for me. Thank you for that. The vegetable soup (Velouté) as a starter and the hot melted chocolate tart with creme (moelleux chocolate) for desert were a suitable addition to quite an enjoyable meal. Although it was the middle of the week my decision of making a reservation beforehand paid off: some other guest without a reservation could sadly not be served because the restaurant was fully booked. And now I understand why that is. Both service and food quality go hand in hand here. Update 2022: I am back here after two years and the restaurant is still as good, if not better; the food, the taste, the freshness, the presentation, and the support of the owner in English. Everything is just remarkable.

Given the name "The Restaurant", my wife and I were naturally quite skeptical, expecting to see the usual americanized, pretentious establishment that are so many over here in Toulouse these days. In fact, the place next door named Proust's Madeleine was quite tempting. But the whiff of the food from Le R convinced otherwise, and, boy, were we not disappointed! OMG, the food quality was spectacular, and an Italian looking server made convincing points to ensure that we took a 3 course meal of superb fish and seafood, followed by a charming dessert. We were so enthused we entered into a deep philosophical discussion that needed to be interrupted by the staff who needed to close up the lunch service. And, ha! Two 3-course meals + 5 glasses of very decent wine + 2 coffees? $70 for 2! Forget NYC!! The only thing one could only hope for is a better coffee, but, hey, we are in France, not Italy, after all... Will definitely come back!

Almost everything on the menu was GLUTEN FREE which was great. Only 3 of the 10 entrees had gluten and every main plat was gluten free, with the exception of the fried potatoes they do on the side, but the staff was wonderful and provided a safe fries option. Everyone on the staff was extremely friendly and we spoke French and English. The only downside is some tables are close together and it can be hard to hear each other with the acoustics of the room but the food makes up for that! We had the Pluma (Iberian pork), Cochon Basque (pig) and Confit de Canard (duck) that came with the standard fried potatoes, ratatouille and the fries that were gluten free per my request.

Food was very tasty, even the bread was good. Service was friendly and helpful - they noted that the magret included goats cheese, and were happy to have it removed from the dish, which I was very grateful for. Great value

The best meal we had in Toulouse! First of all the service is first class, super nice and informative, they make it at true VIP experience. Then the food is phenomenal, great local dishes. We would love to visit again!! A must in Toulouse. You should reserve a place a few days in advance since they get pretty full even in the middle of the week

We had a really enjoyable meal here. Food really good and best bit was the service. The waiter helped us choose our wines which were largely sold by the glass and was just very pleased to help and explain, despite being really busy. Friendly and great food

A nice place with decent service but overrated or I had bad luck. One of my favorite plates, duck magret was over cooked (very strange for a French restaurant) but I didn’t bother to send it back because the quality of meat wasn’t very good anyway. I didn’t want to send it back just to complain again so I paid the 28€. Meanwhile my wife’s combination plate of sea bream and tuna was good. If you’re feeling lucky and have money to burn give it a try, possibly you’ll have a 4 or 5 star experience. I wish the best of luck but recommend looking further as I’m sure a better meal can be found in Toulouse for the cost.

Best restaurant in Toulouse. Been living here for 2 years and there is no better. Chris, the chef, is highly skilled, offering a small menu of classic french cuisine. Everytime I go I get something different and am blown away each time. The servers are also very friendly and professional, with a passion for what they do. Highly recommended.

A perfect blend of food, drink and service. Highly recommend. The food was perfect and the staff was some of the best in France. Two people ran the front of the house some how and everything came out perfect for the back.

We had more than just a terrific dinner here. We had a wonderful evening. The food was excellent, of course, as were the reasonably priced wines by the bottle and the glass. The small space was intimate and friendly and was serviced perfectly by one of the owners(the other owner is the chef). Service came with the right combination of knowledge, enthusiasm for the food, and grace. I recommend this place highly.

It was nice to discover this little space where the food is so french, fresh products, sophisticated touch in the dishes. It s a must if you are in Toulouse and want to explore the old town. The service is excellent! We ve enjoyed. Absolutely recommended ☺️

Omg, this restaurant is run by 2 young chaps , they are absolutely run ragged but the food was sublime. Definitely a return visit. BRAVO!!!

Great ambience, food and wine was great as well. Portions were generous, I’d advise to share a starter (the squid dish was amazing, tender and copious) and dessert (we got the brest “cookie” - more of a cake than cookie served with homemade wiped cream and it’s a nice way to end the meal with a light dessert). The mains came with side dishes of risotto and fried potato balls which were all delicious! Just missing some veggies as a side but I’d still recommend this lovely restaurant for a nice dinner. Highly recommend to reserve for dinner.
