Overall a very nice meal, my wife and I got a voucher for le.jardin de l'opéra. We decided to go for the testing menu and the pairing wine and dish. On the negative side: -Booked for 20.00 and the restaurant wasn't open yet, we had to wait a couple of minutes so some open the door despite the confirmation email. - the lady that greeted us was tense and we didn't feel particularly welcome. But she seems to relax after a will. - didn't wait for my wife to come back from the lady's room before bringing the course. Not accessible at that level. Had to ask to wait, by chance she arrived just in time. - had to ask for a break, the course was coming out very fast. - The testing menu didn't include cheese but still they are trying to sell it to you for 20 euros per person and that a choice of only 3 cheeses. Inacceptable at that level especially with a testing menu. - mistake on the bill, didn't take into consideration the voucher we got as a present. Once again not acceptable at that level. There were only 4 tables in the restaurant all night for 6 waiting staff, can't say that they were overworked. For the positive side: -The menu was fantastic, the win picked for every course was perfect, especially for the chocolate dessert. The sweet breads are unbelievable. Congratulations to the sommelier. - the younger waiting staff was very good, much more relaxed. I would like to point out that I am from a catering background, 20 years in Michelin star restaurants. I can say that I give a fair opinion. Would go back.

Les jardins de l’Opéra - Stéphane Tournié - Highlighting gastronomy through taste It is a stone's throw from the Capitole in Toulouse, in a beautiful interior courtyard, under a large Belle-Epoque glass roof, in a serene calm a few meters from all the city activity, that the great chef Stéphane Tournié has settled for several years already. There is an atmosphere like no other, made up of calm, discreet luxury and well-being, which fits perfectly with the cuisine of Stéphane Tournié. It was in 2006 that he took up the challenge of relaunching les jardins de l’Opéra in Toulouse. This gourmet restaurant previously linked to the Grand hotel de l’opera nearby was looking for a new start. New decor, new kitchen, both imbued with elegance, luxury and chic simplicity. Chef Stéphane Tournié, Michelin-starred in 2012, has the audacity to be discreet. Unexpected marriages, unusual flavors, always with great respect for food and their flavors. His cuisine is modern, creative, gastronomic, but also, and above all, authentic and focused on taste rather than the visual. Refinement is as evident in the mouth as it is in the eye, but expects taste surprises rather than bursts of color. Isn't that what cooking is above all? I experienced at the Jardins de l’Opéra a sublimation of common and more surprising products, a gradation of dishes on several aspects, an emphasis on the tradition of the South West and a complete mastery on the part of the kitchen and service. Stéphane Tournié goes to basics and does it well, his table is a sure bet and a tribute to a cuisine that he likes, personally. You just have to take a moment to chat with him, whom I had the honor of, to understand a quiet but honest passion. Behind this meticulous and careful work, rewarded certainly, hides a joy and pure talent.

Very disappointed. Food is very average. English skills very poor - walking in at entrance nobody is there (?) - our table is in the middle of the atrium so many waitresses and waiters go around. Half bread served is hard, not fresh. Dessert is so sweet could not finish. Also cannot understand review with great food (or may be guests with no experience and relatively low standard). Will definitely not go back and will not recommend. Waste a money. Service was also very very long - almost 3 hours for the first menu at 68EUR. Really not good experience. Go to the « L’entrecôte » instead - I like this place, excellent value for money. We were 5 people, paid 500EUR, on 21.08.2019.

As it is too often the case these days even a single star Is enough to convince above average cooks they are demi gods. It is not the case. We were in Toulouse for work and had an open night, so we tried this one using their "Cote comptoire" option. The jamón was medium quality and sliced way too thick and with too much fat (no, do not even try to explain that's the right way: it's not). The salads were mostly tasteless tomatoes. The other three stages were okay, but nothing to write home about. The young people taking care of service were nice and tried hard, which is good.

An exceptional experience in terms of the cooking and organisation of the dishes. Lots of taste sensations - the lobster cassoulet, basil ice cream, and hay-smoked aubergine to give just a few examples! More conventional things done really well too (delicious ceviche)! Wine pairings were clever and unconventional in places. Generous sizes too (for this sort of restaurant) Only very minor negatives - not sure about the bread; our place in the dining room felt a little bit hidden from the action.

The lunch tasting menu is excellent value and the timing is perfect for a brief stop in at a restaurant of this caliber. My only complaint is that the lunch items were quite heavy, especially for mid summer. I would have appreciated more seasonal fruits and vegetables and cold dishes.

If you have money to burn and you’re a foodie, a Michelin star resto will never disappoint. Such as this one. But I’ve been to many Michelin rated restos and the food over all was not mind blowing. The location is great, it’s right next to Place du Capitole, the interior is so modern Contemporary chic, the service is okay could be better, the plating is great and taste is exceptionally good but like I said for a foodie, not mind blowing. A dinner would cost about 100€ per person. By the way, my photos were from exactly 2 years ago, when I first visited the restaurant.

Great service but the monk fish was over cooked and chewy, hence 4 starts only. Overall satisfied

Only the second Michelin star restaurant in Toulouse I've visited. We took the seven course meal with paired wine. On the positive side, the lamb smoked with rosemary was lovely, it was tender and the aroma was rich throughout. The langoustine dish as well as the duck and fois gras ravioli was also quite nice but nothing exceptional as I've had similar dishes elsewhere. I enjoyed the fish but the sauce paired with it was uninteresting. The calf heart was good but mispaired with a white wine. I would have chosen a pinot or gamay. The service was not up to standards typical of a high end restaurant. Wine was always served late, as was the water. As for the dessert, it was strawberry sorbet served with 3 pieces if chocolate and a chocolate moose to keep them together. Anyone could have done it. Grandma's homemade tart would have gone down better. Unfortunately, no local wines were served in the pairing, I would have at least expected one of the whites to be local or maybe the dessert wine as the region is well served. Lastly, although it was the first impression given, the wine menu showcases a blurry map. It shouldn't be hard to get something so simple, right. Details matter. Overall, not what you would expect for 350 euros for two. The food was much too brown, not enough color, and not enough diversity of flavors.

We had a nice diner here, but nothing exceptional. We went through the 4 courses menu, and we were not disappointed as the food was good, but pretty boring. There was nothing exceptional in anything we ate. It was well cooked and you could feel the technique was here, but that's it. The service was nice, but not up to standard for such a place, e.g., hard to get the attention of the wine guy and get a glass. It made me feel like a regular hotel restaurant, quite bland in the end, with no soul. The place is nice for sure, but the overall experience is overpriced in my humble opinion.

Hello. Friend room not ready until 4 30pm...bar at night empty and sad , night porter had to serve drinks. 12 euros for 2 gins without ice lime? Breakfast poor choice, no fresh eggs or bacon just some old ones which were dry out ... Not even à free drink for the inconvenience of having to wait for the room to be ready. Not impressed overall. Finally in the room nothing indicated room had been sanitised.

Disapointing - not worth that price. This one Michelin star ticks all the boxes of a good service. The cooking is solid and refined. We took the 7 dishes menu. The recipes are representative of cooking trends from 10 years ago, often barely achieving what an elaborated specialty Asian cuisine would do. The wine selected by the sommelier were also disappointing , as 4 out of the 7 glasses were too young and uninteresting.

The place is beautiful and the service was impeccable. Great value for lunch on Saturday. The amuse bouche mix was amazing. The grilled rabbit was also very tasty. However, certain things could be improved. - The salmon filet offered at lunch was a bit overpowered by the Japanese-inspired marination (I think it was a mix of sweet soy sauce and other spices). This follows a common problem of French chefs going overboard with Asian ingredients and ending up with an off-balanced dish. Good Asian cooking, especially Japanese, should also be subtle and balanced. - The truffle risotto tasted great but the rice itself was not exactly al dente. - Bread should've been given by default instead of only provided when asked. Overall, I'd still give it 5 stars for the pleasant experience and good value at lunch.

Great Michelin star restaurant. Service is impeccable. And the food is fantastic. It’s on the high end for the city, but worth it.

The service was very good, the food was tasty and the place is beautiful right on Toulouse’s Capitole. I somehow felt was too pricy for the dishes provided. 4 Stars should do because of the looks and the fanciness around. It’s a place to be experience but not to have a meal really. Overall had a good time.

👍👍 This restaurant is wven better than what our acquaintances had told us. The waiting queue lasted for about 30 minutes. I would really recommend to go there at 9PM (21:00h). At that time the first shift of people have finished their dinners and you will not have to wait any time whatsoever. The meat...
