An amazing garden which has been created from scratch over the past thirty years. It has a huge variety of plants and settings including lots of water features, quite a few woodland spaces, Mediterranean planting, oriental features and rose gardens. The flowers were in full bloom when we visited in July and looked stunning. It has a fun bamboo maze and a small selection of goats and lamas!

A heaven of peace! We spent a lovely sunny afternoon at les Jardins des Martels. Beautifully designed gardens with whispering fountains, lush lawns, rose borders and many different plants and shrubs, weeping willows and big trees near ponds and bridges ...simple pleasure for all the senses! I loved the jasmin trellis, the water lilies with the little frogs and orchids in the greenhouse. Secret shady corners offer resting places before you go down to see the cows and donkey and the hens. Before we left we enjoyed a cup of tea on the wooden terrace overlooking the garden.

One of the most amazing and magical place I’ve been to, I spent hours in those luxuriant gardens and scenery, it’s a place of abundance from which you’ll leave at peace and fecund.

Nice place, the best part are the animals and if you have kids, they will love it, mine did. We spent almost 1 hour sitting on the grass while my kids fed the goats, plus they have some tables at the entrance for a picnic.

Marvelous private garden with amazing plants and flowers. The Gardens of Martel are a hidden gem, an ideal place to chill out and relax. They sell some of the plants to bring home, too. A plus are the picnic tables under the trees on the parking at the entrance, as no food is allowed in the gardens. The staff is very friendly.

Beautiful gardens but the lotus extravaganza is the main attraction, especially this time of year (early to mid July) at the peak of flowering!

It was the second time we've been here. The first time was in late summer. It was hot and dry and understandably the flowers weren't at their best, so it was truly lovely to return in the spring and see all the flowers in their first bloom. As always the route through the gardens is well thought out and sign-posted. It's a gentle amble of around 2 - 2.5 hours with gorgeous scenery, beautiful flowers and alternating light and shade. The various sections are each as delightful as the last. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the little garden shop is well stocked with the beautiful plants and bushes you'll have seen on your tour. We purchased a couple of soft-drinks on our way out as we had built up a thirst in the warmth, and they weren't expensive. If I were to have one complaint, it's that they don't name any of the flowers. My MIL spent an ungodly amount of time on her phone trying to identify various species of flower and bush. But I would definitely recommend this as a lovely gentle day out if you like plants and flowers.

Beautiful, beautiful gardens! Lots of hidden paths to wander on and the flowers are spectacular! Plenty of tranquil places to sit in the shade and gaze out at the flowers, water etc. Look out for the carved faces hidden amongst the plants!

We had a nice walk around this enormous garden and plan to return in August, when the velo rail reopens.
