Stayed here three nights on a business trip. The hotel is an old town house conveniently located on the edge of the bustling down town area. Facilities are very basic (no bar, no lift, shower in the bath) but the rooms are big (mine was like a small apartment), comfortable and clean. The owner is very friendly and helpful and speaks fluent English. He responded to email queries and was happy to order taxis etc. It felt more like staying as a guest in someone's house than a hotel. Regarding the lack of a lift, the stairs are not too onerous but you would not want to lug big heavy suitcases up them. The host prepares and serves breakfast which is served in quite a cramped room. The breakfast is a croissant, some fresh baguette, jams and yogurt. This was all nice and fine for one day maybe but no other options means it is boring after a while. Also it was too sweet (for me at least) and lacking any protein. It would have been good to have the option of some cheese, ham, eggs etc. or some fruit. I did ask but was told this was not possible. Not sure why not. If you like the uniformity, amenities and features of the standard chain hotels, then this place is probably not for you. If however you enjoy quirky places with more character and individuality, then you might love it. I would recommend for a night or two but for longer stays you are going to want to skip breakfast and go to a local cafe.

Charming hotel with friendly, upbeat proprietor. Very centrally located. Fireplace in our room, and the room was good-sized. Bed was fine. Neither window opened and the bathroom was basic/adequate. Good value for money.

Independent hotel in a characteristic and renovated building very close to the central square (Place di Capitole) and the train station. The furniture is classic and very well maintained. The room was very spacious, comfortable and clean, same for the bathroom. Air conditioning is available for the hot Toulouse summers. Attentive, helpful and kind owner who provided me with information over the phone prior to arrival, always smiling at every encounter and held our bags for us on departure day. He speaks French, English and Spanish. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in an independent hotel with lots of character and a super welcome, far from the anonymity of hotel chains. The only thing to take in consideration is the absence of an elevator since it is an old town house, so if this may be a problem ask for a lower floor room or this may not be the accommodation for you. I wish you all the best to the owner who really cares about his guests confort and his establishment.

I visited this hotel due to an unexpected extended (business) stay in Toulouse. Well located and the very friendly owner was very helpful with booking, check in and a good breakfast. Nice spacious room with all facilities. In a good location in the center. Recommended!

Hôtel Héliot is an incredible and under-valued hotel, comfortably and quietly located adjacent the shopping, food, metro, and train station. We were provided with an amazing crib and a quiet room that made it ideal to accommodate our child's nap times. The hotel's service is among the best that we have experienced, ever. Pros: Price, location, cleanliness, service, amenities, space, comfort

Located in the downtown and near to lot of restaurants and other shops. Nice and clean rooms, elevator could definitely help as carrying luggage to the rooms could be difficult

Small classic style independent hotel. Very centrally located with easy walking to city bars, restaurants, and other attractions. Hotel and rooms spotlessly clean. Easy access to airport with bus stop just 20mts for rapid airport service. Every 20mins. So quicker than metro line. No hotel restaurant, but plenty of choices with a few hundred metres. Recommended for city break

My wife and I spent six nights at the hotel in early October, 2015 and then another two later in October. Both stays were excellent. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the bathrooms modern with sufficient space, the room spacious, the windows soundproofed so that one does not hear street noise, and excellent a/c. The location of the hotel could not be better. It is a 10 minute walk from the main (Mattabiau) train station, is across the street from the Jean Jaures stop for the airport shuttle bus (also a stop on the Metro and where there is public parking), and a 10 minute walk from the main square in Toulouse. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. It is a small one with only 12 rooms. The manager/owner, Frederic, is both friendly and helpful with inquiries. It's almost like staying in a B&B.

Hotel Heliot was very comfortable and quiet and the location could not have been more convenient. We slept well every night and we were made very welcome by our host Frederick.

Excellent accommodation! We spent two nights at the Héliot. It was both elegant and comfortable. We found it very good value. The reception service was friendly and helpful. All in all, it was a very satisfying experience for us. One suggestion I would make is in regard to the optional breakfast. There are two formats, priced accordingly: (i) full buffet and (ii) "formule express". The first was more than we required and the second not enough - just a coffee and a croissant. I feel that something in between would suit more guests, something more like a standard French breakfast,to include e.g. orange juice, fresh bread with butter and jam.

Very nice and clean rooms, reasonable price. No elevator, so be prepared to haul your things.

Very friendly reception and the guy managing the hotel speaks English, French, and Spanish. The room I stayed in was nice and I have no complains about it. Location is also good. There is a metro station and a bus stop to get to the airport nearby, and it is just a short walk into the city center. There are plenty of restaurants nearby as well. The breakfast is alright. It wasn't anything fancy, but they offered bread, croissants, yogurt, cheese, honey, jam, juice, some fruits, cornflakes, and a few others things. For those who have difficulties climbing stairs, note that there is no lift.
