Well worth a visit €3.50 to go in all areas and photo exhibit. Gothic frontage and beautiful stained glass windows. Some renovation work being carried out so some noise and scaffolding.

The Cathédrale Saint-Gatien is a wonderfully preserved gothic church with absolutely gorgeous lighting through the stained glass windows. This is one of the oldest still existing cathedrals in all of France. This is a really beautiful place to visit and to attend Mass.

What a detailed building very striking worth a trip without a dount. The intricate detailing is incredible. You can walk around inside and out at no charge as long as no service is on.

Very impressive cathedral, standing in place of three others that came before - the earliest dating as early as the 300s AD. Built over 3 centuries. The very slow construction of the cathedral led to a local saying: "... not until the cathedral is finished", to mean something particularly long and difficult to achieve. Super impressive portals and glass paintings, although I have to say the recent renovation of one glass painted aisle looks completely butchered. Anyway, absolute must if you’re in the area.

The Cathédrale Saint-Gatien stands as a testament to the architectural brilliance and artistic grandeur of the medieval era. The stained glass is nothing short of breathtaking. Each window is a chapter in the rich tapestry of Tours' past, narrating tales of triumph, tragedy, and unwavering faith. The preservation of these windows is not just a testament to the skill of the artisans but also a commitment to safeguarding the cultural heritage embedded within the cathedral's walls.

One of the nicest cathedrals I’ve been to. Absolutely stunning cathedral windows, gorgeous lighting inside the building. Fantastic acoustic. The outside is incredibly interesting. Take time to look closely at all the details.

Impressive. Just off the river, this cathedral offers spectacular height and detailed exterior. The interior is even more impressive, with vaulted arches throughout, and beautiful scenes of artwork pocketed along the sides under massive stained glass highlighting the space. Parking available just off the river to left of the site, one block over.

A spectacular site to behold. A must see while in Toures. Great architecture and steeped in history

We only visited from the outside as it was late. Currently parts are under restoration and I hope they clean up the front as there is a lot of blackening from pollution. Many of the statues have been damaged over the years and, unfortunately, the front alcoves seem to be used as a urinal by the local tramps, so hold your nose while inspecting the doorways up close. Very impressive front when seen from the square.

Very Impressive. Stunning architecture and quality of light through the stained glass windows. Free entry - so definitely worth a visit if you are in Tours.

Steeped in history but also under construction. Not the best part of town to get to (or be in for that matter).

Absolutely stunning. Been there to visit but also to attend the mass. Currently they are painting the left side of the Cathedral so some of the areas might be restricted to visit. A special place to be ❤️🇫🇷

The best place for you to visit, it has an interesting history. You can visit inside the church, it has a museum, non-French people pay 3 euros. To visit inside the church is free.

A very impressive cathedral. You can even spend long time just staring at all the sculptures on the outside. Every corner in the cathedral is different, the colours, patterns and paintings are so captivating. If you are in town, you have to go and visit here.

It's an excellent place to visit, with a pretty little square in front with benches. It's right along the Loire a Vélo trail and made for a pretty stop. The windows and light are so beautiful.

Beautiful cathedral builds between 11-15 century. It is a masterpiece of medieval architecture in France. The choir sounds so angelic and will giving you a supernatural feeling. Also this church has relic of St Martin pictured below. Around this cathedral is a good eating place with various restaurants including an Indian restaurant.

Amazing Cathedral. The first time I saw it, I was in awe of how big it was. Second time, I visited the inside and was equally amazed.

Even irreligious people will be amazed at this building. It is the countless different and colorful windows that tell so many stories. Breathtaking.
