Quality pub that’s won a load of awards over the years. Short Walk from St. Helens town centre. Lots of ales. Something for everyone. Good range of whiskey and brandy too. Serves simple hearty grub (pies,pizza,hotpot)interesting local characters and friendly behind the bar. Shows the sports. Great pub. Highly recommended if you’re in the town 😁🏉🍻

Pub done right. Very locals feeling with everyone knowing each other even though it was packed on a Saturday night. Best beer selection of any pub around. This place just keeps getting better and better. It’s like they really care about their customers. Another great visit 😁.

Havent been in here for well over a decade and its completely changed for the better. Superb atmosphere, friendly and laid back. Music on but not blaring out. Excellent selection of hand pull ales plus all the usual mainstream offerings. Local homemade pies and sandwiches. Lucky to have this as my local again.

Top class bar proper boozer lovely staff reasonably priced drinks all the craft beers clean as whistle fully disinfected everything u want in a bar.

Superb beer selection of course, very much a real ale drinkers pub but it is also very comfortable and well cared for -a true passion project for the owners. What an asset for St Helens!

I have been coming to the cricketers for about 4years now(approx once or twice a week),first time in my life I have ever had a "local"! About 3 weeks ago 3 people came to the bar after me and served before me,when the bar person tried to serve a 4 th person,I objected, and was, consequently,served!, begrudgingly!! I returned,for the first time since then,and walked out after abut 10-15(or so it felt) after being blanked by the staff,I am now enjoying a friendly pint in the market tavern and was served immediately!

This pub has a fantastic atmosphere and is well stocked with real ales, which is my main reason for coming here. Friendly helpful staff and customers! Difficult access for wheelchair users and no accessable toilet so only 4 stars. I hope my suggestion regarding entrance will be seriously considered and implemented. Looking forward to returning. Very busy pub and well liked by CAMRA members (for which there is a discount on cask ales).

A drink with a few ex squaddies last night. CAMRA winner pub many times. All the craft beers you could want. Been awhile since drank in there. Well done Andy Evans. See you again next week.

Fantastic pub & one of my personal favourites! Always a brilliant atmosphere, the drink selection is great and the staff are brilliant! Never a dull visit, always made to feel welcomed.

One of my favourite pubs, friendly staff and customers, along with a wide range of real ales and aprox. 50 different gins. Well worth a visit, I always do when I'm in the area!!

Brilliant family friendly pub, great atmosphere and a huge selection of beers, cider and real ales. Staff are great too. The pub is full of friendly clientele too, easy access to St. Helens town centre, love coming here and will keep coming back!

Excellent real ale pub with a superb choice including the pubs own brews. Unlike the trend of many pubs jumping on the bandwagon of the resurgence of the 'tap house' beers here are all incredibly reasonably priced at 3-3.50 a pint. Also an extensive range of ciders and of course gins available. Great friendly atmosphere of a true local and full of hanging baskets.

Great place , lots of lovely people on the Friday night I went in. Loads of beer being regularly changed and a fine selection of traditional cider .

A super little pub , a vast choice of beers to choose from a great outside seating and bar area (heated) friendly staff and the beer was spot on

Top pub, nice staff, wide variety of customers, few minutes walk from town centre but worth it. Lots of real ales that are well looked after which is why wins lots of prizes as one of best pubs in NW.
