I am impressed. This restaurant has served me one of my favourite meals I have eaten in vienna so far. I ordered the lamb with ratatouille and a baguette to eat along side my meal. The main dish was a delight to eat. There was a generous amount of meat that was seasoned with herbs to perfection. The ratatouille accompanied this dish very well and the meal was packed with lots of flavour. The baguette was served with olives, salted butter, cheese, and delicious sundried tomatoes. I was left feeling very satisfied with this homely meal. So much so that I wanted to take a nap because my stomach was so satisfied. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant and recommending it to all my friends and family.

Indulge yourself if you stumbled upon this humble French bistro & cafe. Service was pristine and helpful. We ordered a bottle of champagne to pair it with the oysters, unfortunately the oysters were sold out, so we turn our eyes to mussels! These succulent treat were so delicious over white wine & shallot, it was an intriguing gastronomic experience. We had the escargots as well, truth behold, bread is highly suggestive to mop up those pesto sauces that gives you that nice hearty well fed feeling that you made the wisest choice by having dinner here.

Honestly, after 3 days of Austrian/Viennese food I was sick of schinitzel and goulash and potato salad and the sausages. So for my last meal I stumbled into Beaulieu, a tiny cozy spot within the Ferstel Passage, a short hop away from Cafe Central (don’t go- tourist trap, or if you must just take photos). So around 830 I walked in apprehensively because on google maps it says “reservations required” and asked if there was a table for two and the server said yes (happy dance), there’s space inside. So dad and I plunked ourselves down in the commonly seen tiny table that never has enough room for what we order. Skimmed the menu and for the better part of 10 minutes argued in my head if I wanted foiegras or the escargot... and decided on the escargot and a beautiful salad minus the fennel with a rosé spritz while dad got the usual chicken coq au vin blanc- I had a taste before he finished and it was quite alright(liked my food better) Food highlights: - the bread and butter ( the butter was heavenly) - escargot was amazing and of course you need to dip that baguette in there - my summer salad was beautiful and a huge portion - dads coq au vin blanc was tasty with a side of mushrooms and rice- lighter than the usual red wine and good too Well what really got me was the service. OMG. The service was amazing. I’m used to the snotty Parisian service where they hate you if you don’t speak French and just have their noses in the air- but here, it seemed all the servers were available (very common in asian restaurants, not so much in western) and totally ready to accommodate any requests with a happy smile no matter how busy they are... and they were slammed. So yes totally tipped them extra and ended the night an hour and a half later.

Great little French cafe. Lovely well presented food with a touch of French fabulousness. We had hot chocolate which was light and full of flavour. Great spot for a quick bite. The indoor alley is located in its simply stunning too. Highly recommend.

Very good french food located in district 1. Papillote fish is very fresh, seafood broth is awesome with taste of sea, mussels very generous portion and escargots is heavenly. Highly recommend here for a taste of french dining and experience.

A bit crowded but for a good reason. The waitress was very friendly. They all spoke both German and English. The food was simple but super delicious. You could also buy cheese and other stuff to go from the place. The atmosphere was very plesent.

Lovely place, very cute location and vibes, great food and wine! We loved the fish tartar, and the quinoa tabbouleh - although it lacked a bit of lemon and salt for my taste! The moules were very good, but a little not balanced enough - too much wine. Service a bit slow as well/one waitress for all the tables outside, probably because we were there at an off time, but still. Would definitely recommend it, and come back!

The health ministry should be alerted about the condition in which the food is kept here…we walked into the restaurant to find flies all over the items in the vitrine. We mentioned it to one of the waiters and he just said, sorry, they don’t close it….super disgusting

Food is good. I had croque Madame for breakfast, the warm toast covered with cheese was just perfect for the chilly rainy weather. Sardine sandwich was tasty but bit pricey and small portion. The waiter is bit stressed out. I'd like to visit here again.

A French cafe you can enjoy in the heart of Vienna. Friendly, delicious and beautiful place.

Loved the atmosphere. Staff was kind and food was okay. We had onion soup, bœuf bourguignon, and ratatouille: Bourguignon was good, ratatouille was bit spiced up- I had to leave more than half but if you like strong spices then you’ll love it, and onion soup was bellow average.

Amazing! Love this place! Had lunch with friends here and I was very impressed. The food was really good, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. I had a nice experience and I’m really looking forward to going back to try other things on the menu. I also thought the price was reasonable.

Small but very cozy restaurant! We found it by accident, the tables were reserved two days in advance, but the waiter found us a table :) The food was very tasty, really liked the salad and the beef bordeaux. Price-quality ratio and service at the highest level! Highly recommended. The only disadvantage is that they do not warn about the 4.5 euro extra charge per person. Otherwise, everything was perfect!

It was an amazing dinner experience! Even though it was busy on a Monday night, the servers were fast, polite and nice (I really do not understand the complaints about the service - It is a busy place and if you need something, you can ask them). I was expecting the food to take longer to come (after reading some reviews here) but the entrée and drinks came after 5 minutes and the food after 10. They serve everyone a baguette with butter, olives and a little bit of meat and cheese. We asked for the lamb with honey and thyme and the coq au vin, and it was amazing (meat perfectly cooked and full of flavour). For desert we got lemon cake, and it was also very good. As a side note, I went there to make the reservation in person and did not have any problems. The service fee may seem a little high to some, but it is really worth it if you include the entrée and take into consideration that you are in the 1st district/ Ferstel Passage. We will definitely go back and we recommend it!

We came here just by chance, but we ended up coming back to this place as often as we could. We had here breakfast, lunch and late dinner. The food was delicious (bouillabaisse especially), but what really makes this place special are the people and a vibe of French secession. We felt welcomed here, and that is beyond precious. Prices, as for the quality of the food, are good. I will be returning here next time when I'm in Vienna

We absolutely loved this place. We were looking for something to eat after a classical music concert. We found this place right next to the cafe central. A gem in Vienna. If you are looking for french specialities, I would recommend to visit this restaurant. It’s also an épicerie where you can buy cheese, charcuterie, foie gras and many other french delicacies.

Romantic French atmosphere perfect for a date. Yet some tables are close to each other maybe you don’t want it. Delicious food and good service. Very popular place, it’s hard to get a table.

Lovely food, the lamb knuckle was a dream, unbelievably tender and the seasoning and sauce was on point. Nice atmosphere. Small restaurant with little classic French style tables. Would recommend, for a date or get together with a few friends. Cash and card payments possible. The waiter was attentive and friendly.

Nice food but u wait Long and the waiter often forgets about orders. I am just waiting 40 minutes for the quiche(i reminded him about it 10 mins ago). How Long does it take to serve a quiche which is already made?;)

This place is a hidden gem. The staffs are very busy at lunchtime, but that means it's popular. Had a 3-course lunch and latte with desserts, satisfied a lot.

We had a great coffee time ☕️.Not only their exquisite patisseries and coffee but also their culinary dishes are very popular in Vienna. 😌☺️ We treated ourselves this time just to some desserts. So we will absolutely come again for having a dinner. 😆✌️✌🏽✌🏻

Customer discrimination. They say the have reserved tables and then put on people looking more rich.

Great atmosphere, great location and most importantly amazing food. The place to go if you want to feel like you're in Paris, in Vienna.

Great place and nice food but..... We got absolutely snobbed by the waiter and we had to wait 20 minutes to get the water and wine we had to ask for several times. I have tattoos and piercings and I feel I got totally judged on my looks. There were some tables that they said we're booked but are still empty as we are sitting on a little side table as they refused to let us sit there. My steak was also a bit dry but that's a detail. It's unacceptable and very poor service ! You should be ashamed and learn to do your job better !

This establishment left a terrible impression. We were walking and saw a cute cafe along the road, so we decided to go in and have a coffee. When we arrived, the waiter with an unfriendly face sent us to another waiter to ask where we could sit. when we sat down we waited a long time to be approached. We took coffee and dessert. They brought us snacks that we didn't order. They were later listed on the bill, the price was 10€ for a few small pieces. We spoke to the waiter in German, he pretended that he did not understand us. We asked in English, he said he spoke German. How is this possible? the waiter had a dissatisfied face all the time and spoke to us in a tone as if they were doing us a favor. When we first arrived and I saw French dishes on the menu, I said that we would definitely come to this cafe soon for my birthday. but after such disgusting service, I will never go there again.
