I had an incredibly disappointing visit to this restaurant and feel compelled to warn others. The waitress was shockingly rude, and the entire dining experience left a lot to be desired. Firstly, the service was abysmal. The food took ages to arrive, and when it finally did, it was evident that the fish and other ingredients were far from fresh. It's clear they don't prioritize quality in their dishes compared to other restaurants in the area. To add insult to injury, the pricing was completely unreasonable and seemed nonsensical. Charging €9 for a tiny 33cl bottle of beer and a whopping €23 for a larger 66cl bottle is simply absurd. Overall, I would strongly discourage anyone from visiting this establishment. The combination of rude staff, slow service, subpar food quality, and exorbitant prices make this restaurant a complete disappointment. Save your money and find a better place to dine in the area.

We booked this restaurant with high expectations given the reviews and the ratings. Oh boy! Were we disappointed or what.. Started the journey with absolutely shambolic and poor attitude from the waitress. When you go out to eat, you expect to be treated with respect and courtesy. It's clear that the staff at Osteria Il Moro need to work on their customer service skills. A rude and dismissive waiter can ruin an entire meal and leave a lasting negative impression on customers. Furthermore, the food quality was terrible. This is simply unacceptable for a restaurant, particularly one that claims to offer traditional Sicilian cuisine. Overall, I would not recommend Osteria Il Moro to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience in Trapani. The poor attitude of the waiter and the subpar food quality make this restaurant completely unworthy of patronage. Save yourself the disappointment, the money, the frustration and find another restaurant that can deliver on their promises of good service and delicious food.

Very expensive. Unpolite staff. They cheat with receipt and what is most annoying the food is bad.

DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS PLACE. The water was 10 euro(about 5 times other trapani restaurant). The wine by the glass was 13 euro while another restaurant we went was 5 euro. The food was much below our expectation. The beef carpaccio was dull while the cuttlefish dish was salty. The waiter and the interior were okay but the price was rip-off compared to their taste and other local places.

Nice presentation and welcoming waiter. Decent food, but that's where the good stuff ends. Ridiculously small and overpriced portions. My "secondo" main dish consisted of about six dice-sized pieces of tuna and the eggplant parmigiana was in a cup of coffee. Creative? sure. Tasty? Maybe. Filling? Absolutely not. Left hungry. The manager lady that took our order was cold and rude, barely looked at us, answered our questions impatiently. I sensed some racism as well the way she spoke to my friends versus how she spoke to other guests. At the end when the waiter taking away our plates asked how the meal was, I gave him honest feedback about the portion sizes, to which he answered: "yes it's gourmet cuisine... It's not a lot of food but it leaves you with strong emotions". Well you left me with emotions alright.. just not any good ones. Won't be returning here, despite the interesting food.

Everything was excellent, from the bread, salad, dishes, wine, dessert. And what a relief to find a wonderful ambience, where you could eat in peace. Not the typical italian loud atmosphere, grazie Dio e il Moro :-)

Poor attitude on waiting staff's part. Unwelcoming and unkind. The waiters are letting down the rest of the team clearly. Food is decent

The waitress did a great disservice to the chef whose efforts seem to be in vain when the customer is clearly disrespected.

I cannot comment on the food as I won't be able to taste it. I booked in early March, had a reservation confirmation then the day before we were meant to eat there in June I was told it would be closed on a Wednesday. The irony is that I had asked if it was open on the day but never got an answer. Very disappointed as the menu sounded very interesting.

Everything was great, the food, the service, the terrace outside in front of the Santa Maria Dell’Itria church. I would definitely go back.

The staff in general were so rude. We wanted to continue dining but felt so unwelcome and thought our money would be best spent elsewhere at a place that would be okay with greeting us politely, patiently taking our order and not staring at us in distain. The portions are tiny and overpriced. Tasty but there is a heavy focus on presentation over flavour

Beautiful experience with excellent service to celebrate a birthday and anniversary. Given the special occasion we were assigned a great table with lots of intimacy and a great atmosphere. 10/10! I can highly recommend the parmigiana cappuccino, the tonno vitellato and the raspberry and champagne dessert. A real treat for the palates.

I don’t have words to do this meal justice. Every plate was so tasty and beautiful! The staff was very helpful in explaining everything (we don’t speak Italian). Would recommend to anyone who appreciates a refined take on some local classics and an imaginative approach to familiar flavors.

The food is amazing in this restaurant. The waiters take the time to explain to you the dish that you are eating. I feel lucky we got in without a booking. Very professional people. Blessed to go there

The traditional dish was great with the catch of the day. On the flip side, the only thing I’d recommend.

The dinner was fabulous, we really enjoyed our evening. The food was delicious, my favorite restaurant after 2 weeks in Sicilia. Presentation, plates, taste are very well executed. Great job 👌 Pricing: 135 euro for two (around 67 euro pp) for 4 dishes each and 2 bottles of water. Only the service fees of 12 euro was above average, but service was worth it. Could expend the non-sea food choices for the primi piatti. Thank you.

Classy, authentic Sicilian style restaurant - but with their own interpretation, which makes for a very interesting recipe for an amazing night out. I'm Italian and I'm a foodie and I would highly suggest it to all the foodies out there. Try the classic cous cous or the other main dishes, they left us very happy. Their desserts are quite unique, also highly suggested. Enjoy!

Michelin-like experience with very good trained waiters and their soup with seafood and fish is a must. The prices are fair.

It's advertised as an 'osteria', but it's a pretty posh place. Never go there with kids, they worry about every glass (we were worried to), everything covered in white. The food was lovely, but too sophisticated for my place. Prices were crazy high. Not a nice experience.

Great Sunday Lunch impeccable service and food expensive by Sicilian standards but worth it in my opinion

This was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend you visiting if you enjoy elevated food that celebrates local food, culture and flavours. The service and the wait staff were faultless, recommending the best wines. Special mention to Enzo who looked after us so well. We ate here as a group, 5 of us had the seafood tasting menu and one of us had the vegetarian tasting menu. Firs ton appearance, if you walk around Trapani beforehand you will see so many restaurants with sea views and cuter terraces, so when we arrived we were a little skeptical. After our first plate of food this feeling was replaced with excitement and anticipation. Amuse bouche: revisited pane cunzato 1 gambero rosso: a speciality around Trapani and beautifully executed. 2 steamed squid carpacio style on top of cooked squid stew with almonds and pine nuts: this was my favourite as it was so different and nothing like I had ever had before. 3 tortellini with scampi and ricotta: this one was underwhelming after the delicious 1,2 4 fish couscous: more typical in Marsala, this was nice but did not work with the menu, for me couscous is a family style food and in tasting portions it just feels lacking. Also the stock felt very different to the flavours of the couscous 5 Seared tuna, this tuna was amazing, flaky, mostly raw, served with a veal sauce but I opted out of that and a red onion purée 6 this was another seafood dish with potato cream and fennel the favourite to the majority of our table. The only constructive criticism I would make is that the vegetarian menu was lacking in variety mostly tomato based and very similar. They mentioned it would be best to give a day’s warning for vegetarians. I fully recommend this restaurant
