It's not an ordinary traditional zoo but such a nice garden full of animals. There will be roosters, wild rabbits and lizards running around. In the refreshment area you will find a very nice modern bar, a restaurant and a gift shop connected with a toy shop. The prices are not expensive at all. The bar is open until 18:00, the restaurant until 15:00 and the toy/gift shop also until 18:00. There are very nice staff here, with whom you can easily communicate in English. There are quite a lot of animals here and you can even pet some of them. At the end of the zoo you will also find a huge garden with various flowers, plants, trees and herbs. I fully recommend this place also for families with children. There are lots of educational things to do, attractions and also a few mini playgrounds. There are plenty of places to sit everywhere and Uricte will have somewhere to relax. I definitely recommend visiting this place when you visit Sicily. Tickets cost 8,50€ for an adult and 6€ for a child. !WARNING! Bring mosquito repellent because they are really annoying and aggressive.

Aber das schlimmste Erlebnis war: Siehe Foto: das Pony war in einem kleinen Viereck ganz alleine eingepfercht ohne Rückzugsort. Ich bin geschockt und traurig und habe den Zoo auch mit diesem Gefühl verlassen.

I would have given a higher score if not for a couple of points: 1) the zoo car park is next to the entrance but you have to walk back out onto the road (no path) in order to access it. If you’ve witnessed how Italians drive this was quite unnerving, especially with a child in tow. Just knock a whole in the wall 🙏 2) the zoo is long and narrow so when you reach the end you have the long walk back along the way you came. And in the middle we almost turned around as it looked like we had reached the end. Had we not checked satellite imagery / gps we would have stopped short. 3) the chimpanzees and their enclosure looked a bit sad. Our closest cousins deserve better. 4) oh and our first impression once we were in was the dinosaur land which was in serious neglect, including the path coming to a dead end. But like I said, the kids would probably enjoy it. Note: not wheelchair friendly imo.
