Beautiful place. Simply amazing food! Incredible service. Definitely one of the best, if not the best restaurants in San Vito lo Capo. Highly recommended!

Based on the reviews we read before coming here perhaps they had an off night. Though I don't think so as the food was also lacking, not just the service. The service made passive aggressive comments all night. Wouldn't let us order drinks until we ordered our food? It's very common and encouraged in most places to order drinks first while still browsing the menu. Rudely interrupted our ordering to do it in the servers specific way instead of accommodating how we wanted to. We wanted to order the starters & mains each person at a time. They wanted all the starters then all the mains, apparently to not confuse the chef. If they had said at the beginning how he wanted us to order then it would have been fine, but the rude interruption was kind of weird. Was accommodating to the fact what drinks we ordered were not what they usually offer which was great, fantastic even, but made off comments about it when brining them which just made us feel awkward and ruined this kind gesture. Missing ingredients in dishes without telling us before we ordered and then when we questioned it once the dishes arrived they told us that it is not a big deal or issue. The dishes were still full price despite lacking a key ingredient (cuttle ink for cuttle ink pasta). The server made the 2 women at the table uncomfortable with what could have been banter if they had not said it so often. I wouldn't say this was intentional, but worth noting. Made comments about us not knowing what the dish was that we ordered when they are saying the Italian names for them, our fault for not speaking Italian to be fair, but how are we to map the Italian name to what it looks like when it comes? Especially when the dish is not the correct colour (the cuttle ink pasta, not actually being black or in fact cuttle ink pasta), though the problem here was the comments they made when delivering the dishes as a little patience and understanding goes a long way. We changed our minds about wanting fresh glasses when changing from cocktails to wine and again more passive aggressive comments. Why not just replace them without asking us in the first place? We said not to worry about changing them when asked as our initial reaction was to not inconvenience the server further than we seemingly had done by dining here in the first place. Though why did they make us feel that way for such a simple thing? This is perhaps the most telling of the issues. Server was very unimpressed by us asking for salt and pepper? We can season the food to our own taste thanks. Had to ask a different waitor for it in the end. We asked for sambucas post meal and they made a fuss about it before bringing them anyway? Said thank you in Italian as we left and this was followed by laughter? Very bizarre? Given our interactions up to this point it further made us feel unwelcome. One of the party was throwing up post meal, I had exactly the dishes that they had and was fine, but their stomach is more sensitive than mine so I don't count this towards to my rating, but it is worth mentioning for others who may have sensitive stomaches. The food was goodish, but seemed expensive for what it was, especially as it was predominantly seafood and we are on the coast so would expect it to be cheaper. The fried fish dish was nice, but it was exactly that, just fried sections of fish, prawns and calamari with a lemon. No signature sauce, flavours or creativity. The cuttle ink pasta was very bland, perhaps due to the lack of cuttle fish ink though? The filling was equally bland which is very bad considering this means it was as bland as plain pasta. Raw prawn spaghetti was very good and would recommend if dining here. In summary, rude service and average food that was over priced. We won't be returning though as the food was disappointing and the service made us not feel welcome.

Best couscous experience! I changed my mind towards couscous now, this was by far the best I tried so far! Also the octopus, mamma mia! Thanks for accepting solo travelers and being so kind and nice. It was a lovely experience and the service was amazing! All the best! Sonia

We highly recommend this place. The food was simply exquisite and the service was extraordinary. Antonino made sure we were well taken care of and had excellent recommendations on the wine and food selections. If you’re in town, you will not be disappointed with a visit.

Great dinner!!! The service was super friendly, our waiter definitely made our dinner experience better. He explained the food very well and told us the backstory of one of the pasta dishes we ordered. But this wasn't even the best part of the dinner. It was the food. Wow, the tuna cous cous and the businate were amazing! The portions were large, the plates were pretty. Very happy with this place, will come back!

The food here is very tasty and well presented. The waiters are friendly, speak good English and are very knowledgeable. It's fairly hard to get a table here in the evening so make sure to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Wow. Just wow. We were a couple of days out from dining at a 2-Michelin star restaurant in Licata when we found this place. The food was just as good and the overall experience — especially the perfect service from Antonino — exceeded that of the fancier restaurant at roughly 1/3 the price. Antonino’s wine and food recommendations were spot-on. I want to eat here again tonight!

Absolutely loved the food at Ristorante Rais! The staff was so welcoming even if me and my boyfriend did not pre book, as we just got to San Vito and decided to try it out based on all the recommendations on Google reviews. So happy we did, the atmosphere was perfect, the lovely guy who spoke English went above and beyond by recommending some delicious red wine, spot on! The food was very good, the service was a bit slow indeed but that's because they were busy and wanted to take the right amount of time with every table. My most favourite dish was by far the desert, the pistachio cream! I went there the second evening especially for it! Don't have enough words to describe how delicious that jar of perfection is! If you are visiting San Vito, this place is a must try! You won't be disappointed 🧡

The best restaurant in Sicily so far, startig with the wine and local dark beer, then with octopus cooked in three different ways fried with ink, grilled with mashed potatos and octopus slad, tuna tataki with mozzarella with orange and pink sauce, filled pasta with grouper and shellfish with basil oil (this one amazing) and codfish with ratatouille, a most to try when you come to this restaurant, and the service excellent, we were attended by the owner, he was really kind.

Fantastic dining experience, unlike most other tourist-oriented restaurants. Upscale decor, friendly staff, exquisite fish - based dishes. A hidden gem in the heart of S. Vito. I will be going back yearly.

The service was fast and the staff was friendly. The price was a bit on the steep side but the food was exceptional. Would definitely return.

One of my favourite restaurants ever. The atmosphere was amazing and not too loud. Service was fast. Food was exceptional. I have the octopus 3 ways and I was a bit sceptical about fried octopus because it’s really hard to do well but it was delicious. I also got the cacio e pepe which I highly recommend. Will definitely go back when I am back in san Vito.

Regular "fancy" restaurant. Service is nice, but food is so so, i mean presentation is fine, but tastes are regular, even worse than in any bistro nearby, for instance octopus that we ordered was not soft at all.

We highly recommend this restaurant. The food is amazing, the flavours go together perfectly. We trusted the recommendations of the staff and were not disappointed with anything. We dined at San Vito Lo Copo for two nights, and it is sad that it was only on the second night that we discovered this restaurant. The staff are wonderful, very nice, and they give us sincere advice. We highly, highly, highly recommend it! 12/10, best wishes from Lithuania!

We had some amazing food there. The taste was unbelievable. The waiter “Nino” was such a great person. Super friendly , super experienced and he did some great recommendations. Also his explanations of the food was stunning. It’s definitely worth it to visit Rais if you’re in San Vito lo capo! Prices are good for such high quality food. We will be back soon - for sure!

The best restaurant in San Vito Lo Capo, please don’t leave the island without trying their pasta. We’ve ordered cacio e pepe mon amour & blu spaghetti, both amazing ! Also the starter was very good 👍🏻 staff attentive & friendly (even with 40 degrees, not easy to work under that conditions). Recommend it 100%.

We had booked this restaurant well in advance after reading the slow food guide, visiting the website, and following their socials. The meal did not disappoint. The wine list similarly. The staff were ... OK. Other than the introduction of the fish of the day, orders were taken with a lack of interest. We ordered a primi to share (which was welcomed) but arrived as a single dish, and we had to ask for an additional plate and cutlery. It is a simple enough request but shouldn't have been necessary. It was busy, and we are very forgiving of service in this post COVID world, but there was no further interaction with staff. Typified by the request from across the table for me to hand my plate over... I was not locked in a corner, and he could easily have moved around our table of 4 to collect it, instead interrupting our conversation to lessen his burden. Additionally, there was no air conditioning, making it an uncomfortable evening, thankfully spent near the doors. Again, the meal was un faltable.

I really liked this restaurant.. food was more creative than most traditional restaurants in San Vito. Chef here really tried to do something modern and creative. Some dishes were not to our liking, but overall it was a really nice experience.. super nice waiters as well.
