Located in the middle of Erice (although not on a major street), this was a pleasant surprise for lunch. The entrance is small, but the restaurant has great outdoor & indoor (antique area) seating. We got the antipasto san Carlo (all veg & fried) along with the caponata. For mains, get the busiata (typical Trapani pasta) with the raw red shrimp & the shrimp ravioli. The busiata was just perfect with the fresh raw shrimp. The ravioli on the other hand was a bit too salty, I would skip it!

Incredible food, service and atmosphere inside an old and historical building once a laundry house. The pasta was handmade and delicious, there was freshly baked bread and there was a fantastic selection of local Sicilian wines. The atmosphere was romantic, with old stone walls and jazz music playing. We had a great experience.

Loved everything we ordered from the antipasti to dessert, must try is the stuffed squid with artichoke petal chips, the ambiance, the staff are welcoming, prices just right considering the quality and it's in the center of Erice.

4.5*No doubt, this is a serious restaurant with quality cooking. There are mixed reviews for service. The bread, cuttlefish, caponata and artisan beer were outstanding. The sardines were a reimagining of a classic dish. A lovely dish as it was, I would prefer the traditional butterflied sardines, crumbed and topped with separated elements, that here are blended and found within the perfectly cleaned fishies. Notwithstanding, it's a good dish. The rigatoni made in house with local ndjua would be a killer winner, if not for more salt that seawater (literally). We would have had dessert had we been brought menus. After arresting a waiter, we were left with a dessert menu more succinct than a bumper sticker, and no help to decode it. The highs are wonderful enough to make this a 5* experience. Just.

Pasta was really tasty. Fish also good but too small portion. Service was a bit slow but no problem at all. Dessert was amazing

Probably the best lunch we had during our trip around Sicily. Great value for the money. We shared some antipasti and we were almost full. Absolutely delicious and diverse food. We have some lamb and beef, both great! The serving was great, and the place very friendly and calm. It was a recommendation from the owner of our accommodation place, but it’s quite easy to find also while wondering through the streets of lovely Erice.

A great off the beaten path restaurant tucked inside a building not very visible from the street. It has a well decorated garden area and inside tables. The food is amazing. The stuffed octopus with artichokes was phenomenal. The veal as a meat entree was delicious and cooked to perfection as was the busiata a la norma. Their fried squid was delicious as well (can’t remember if it was an appetizer or meat entree). I don’t think they have a bad meal on that menu! Don’t miss this place, it’s worth it!

Best part of our Sicily trip. We went and had a look at the view 1st, which is something like 800m high, then came here. We were seated in the cellar area, got a bruschetta to start, which had a sea urchins through it. Then the caponata which is a Sicily specialty, this had fish through as well but a really mild fish taste. Now the star of the show though was the paccheri with pork cheek. Probably similar to a carbonara but like you have never tasted before! Then the Norm pasta was basic but the flavors were great there also! I highly recommend this place, the plates were beautiful, nice lighting and cool. There is an outdoor area which is sort of protected by plants also so not in direct light.

My wife and I absolutely adored this place; so much so we went 2 nights in a row. Beyond the real enjoyment of going to the restaurant - riding a cable car from Trapani and walking through the town - there really is nothing negative I can say with regard to our experience in the restaurant. We found the staff very friendly, the wait for our food minimal, the food absolutely delicious, and the overall ambiance of the restaurant a dream. Having tried a variety of dishes over our 2 visits, our thoughts were that if someone didn't enjoy any of the dishes they ordered, it seems likely that that is because there's no version of that dish that they would enjoy, and not because the specific version of the dish served by the restaurant was itself problematic.

We visit this place every time we come to Sicily. Food is very delicious, especially pasta dishes. And you have to try their desserts! Service is ok, we noticed many times that they reject guests without reservations though they still have several free tables.

Delicious perfect Osteria. If you are a tourist we suggest you don’t think too much and just ask the staff to choose for you. English translations of food do no justice and you will just miss the best things.

Why sometimes there is not a 7******* vote for restaurant??? Sooooo, I wish I could rate it 7!! Simple, tasteful, amazing food. All ingredients totally fresh, the cook was extremely professional with mother care and the staff wonderful It worth absolutely to make a gastronomic trip only for that restaurant!!!

August 2021 - Beautiful place serving great wine but, to our taste, somewhat unnecessarily elaborate food. Their signature dishes were cooked in too much fat and were a bit heavy on the stomach. As to the caponata which so many people praise, I found it quite bland compared to the one I cook at home, lacking garlic, cumin, rosemary, capers, vinegar and chili.

We always pick or food places carefully and the reviews don’t lie. Very delicious, fresh food. Special love for Sarde or sardines, absolutely delicious! Try busiate alla norma - also great Sicilian staple dish 🍆🍅🧀❤️ grazie mille!

A “secret garden” along an alley off a quiet street that feels like nowhere. The food? Mind blowing! The artichoke stuffed squid was a dream with fried wisps of airy artichoke petals. Perfectly cooked tuna steak served with cooked onions- interesting yet tasty pairing. The seafood caponata was unbelievably delicious. Lovely local wine choices. Two small tour groups dined here which one was named “Secret Italy.” People were turned away at the door for not having reservations… It felt very VIP with how great this restaurant was! The staff was friendly & helpful. Multi language menu with QR code. I had our stay book the lunch reservation for us, easy.

Amazing busiate with fresh prawn tartar. Something that impressed me was that they offer a huge variety of wines by the glass and they open the bottle in front of you.

Beautiful food, service and location. The hostess was very helpful and recommended wine to our food.

Two pastas are too much salty in my opinion. I couldn’t finish dishes. Fried octopus was good by the way. 56 euros for those 3 dishes + water + table fee (2 person), which i think it is overpriced Service was not good. Employee didn’t even say thank you or bye when we leave.

To avoid absolutely Worst food infection I have ever had. We came with 5 friends, found the restaurant thanks to Google and the excellent reviews. 2 of us have been extremely sick. The whole night and day after. We both shared the Paccheri con Guanciale and that was probably the worst thing to do. The rest of the food was honestly excellent. But a restaurant that jeoperdize its clients health should not be running.

Largely a meat restaurant, but fish is in a number of the pasta courses. The cassatelle in brodo di pesce fresco is not to be missed

Located in the middle of Erice, the restaurant has a medieval vibe to it. All the food we ordered there is amazing! The staff was really friendly and helpful when choosing the plates. The place was fully booked so if you want to go there make sure you have a reservation by just giving them a call.

Probably my favourite meal in all of Sicily. The caponata is incredible.

Beautiful location and setting to have lunch and escape the October rain. Very friendly and attentive staff, probably the best caponata I’ve ever had! Certainly will be back to try the Busiate tartar di Gambero.

We went here for lunch. Service was very quick, attentive and professional. Atmosphere is beautifully calm and romantic, with a lot of space to sit inside in different lofts. We really liked the Sicilian Antipasti combined with the great bread. My pasta a la Norma was also very good, the pasta a la Trapanese wasn't that good and didn't taste like the pasta we had tasted before. It was a bit watery and for our taste, there were too much tomatoes and too less almonds. Furthermore, we found the potatoes were not necessary for the dish. But all in all a good choice and we would come back again!

😠 Avoid this place!!! The cashier asked the barman in the italian slang "siciliano" if the foreign customers knew about their price. 👍👍 I was very pleasantly surprised at how nice the wide sandy beach of San Giuliano is. This beach club was the best in terms of bar, beach and facilities. we also had drinks and it is worth it for the beach where 2 sunbeds with parasols in the 4th row are for an acceptable 18 euros...
