The Hotel was very good - bright, clean, the host was excellent. The location is ideal - in the center and in the only street there were cars cannot go, so the air is clean and it is more quiet. A wonderful beach is in a minute walking. The breakfast was fine - fresh croissants, coffee, oranges, apples. It would be good to have also some hot food though (fried eggs, vegetables). You have to ask to change towels, otherwise it won’t be changed, and the same with bed sheets (we stayed 5 nights ans bed sheets were not changed once). In all other aspects the hotel is great.

I don’t know where to begin. If I could give zero stars I would. The only people who were friendly and looked like they wanted to work at the hotel were the women at check-in. The hotel was “all inclusive” so I guess if you don’t mind eating on a buffet line and in a school cafeteria then this hotel is good for you. The buffet didn’t even offer Italian food. The women who served the “all inclusive” drinks slammed them down at you the drink spilt out of the cup. Espresso was like mud. The resort is huge and on a steep hill so if you are handicap or get tired easily it is not for you. They also had these huge ants all over the property. Can you at least spray the property? The so called beds were horrendous. It was like sleeping on a piece of cardboard with prison sheets. Your entire body felt all the springs. Definitely not for adults who want an authentic Italian experience. Not close to the main town and the beach was not clean. The shuttle that took you to the beach was dirty and hot. I had to end my stay early even though I did not get my money back. Took it as a sunk cost and stayed at a better hotel in Castellammare del Golfo.

I have stayed at the hotel through Thomas Cook via Neckermann. I really love that water slides connect to the open sea. The sunset view is amazing. It was quite chaotic when it came to the restaurants (it was like a race against other people), which was not pleasing. Of course, I'm not sure if it’s still the case now. Overall, I am giving 3 of my experiences even though there might have been some improvement throughout the years as the hotel went from 4 to 3 stars and now back to 4 stars. So it’s a good sign and I can’t wait to visit there someday to experience the change. Also they have a bus stop that’s goed to the city which is very convenient. I recommend this hotel for the family as they do have fun activities for kids-teenagers to enjoy their stays. (Will be adding pictures when I have time). If you want to go to Palermo (the city), it's easy to take the public bus. Also they do have shuttle bus to small lovely town called Terrasini which has beautiful blue sea. Beware that when I was there you need to speak Italian (I mean you are in Italy so it's to be expected). Furthermore, this place is ideal for those people who don't mind sticking around the hotel. It's definitely kids friendly as they have enough activities to entertain them. One of the things I love was the sunset and sunrise. It was breathtaking!

I never got to go due to the pandemic. My credit card was charged Dec.2019 for my stay June 2020, but due to the pandemic it was postponed until the following year, same exact dates in June 2021, well as of today their is still a travel ban for us citizens to travel for tourism. No it’s not June yet, but all appears the travel ban will still be in place come June .One also still needs sufficient time to make arrangements ,book flights etc... I’ve emailed and called to no avail to get my money back the resort charged my credit card for in Dec.of 2019 for a trip in June 2020...a stay that I did not cancel nor did I no show as is stated as non refundable in their booking policy. Their is a travel ban! I let the resort hold my money long enough for a vacation that is obviously not going to happen any time soon. You cannot hold someone to a reservation that may cost them their life , you cannot hold someone’s money hostage year after year . I can hold onto my own money!

Absolutely horrific experience!! This is not your typical “all inclusive” resort. Don’t be fooled; this is NOT all inclusive!!! I don’t even know where to begin…. - apparently you must bring your own pool/beach towels. We didn’t bring our own and therefore had to use the bath towels from the room. Doesn’t seem like a big deal, but when we went back to the room housekeeping never came and we didn’t have any bath towels so I had to go wandering around the hallway in hopes of finding the linen closet to get clean bath towels. What “resort” doesn’t give pool/beach towels and what “resort” doesn’t prove housekeeping daily like they claim they do?!?! - breakfast, lunch, and dinner are during allotted times so make sure you don’t miss the time slots (not that you want to eat that food), but I guess bread is better than nothing because you will not get dinner reservations at their empty restaurants. The buffet food in the cafeteria is absolutely disgusting….there are no words to describe how bad it really is!! - The restaurants are impossible to get reservations even though they are completely empty. We had to speak to the manager to get us a reservation at the pizzeria. When we got there there was only one other family and every other table was empty. I don’t understand how there were no reservations. We ordered a personal pizza for each of us (2 adults and 3 children) and we asked for one more so my husband and I can try and we were told no….apparently it’s only one per person….isn’t this supposed to be an “all inclusive” hotel?!?! - There are bus loads of camp kids who come…there were over 100 who they allowed to go into the cafeteria for lunch before the paying guests!!!! They were all over the pool area somersaulting into the pool with no regard to anyone around them. - There are barely any lounge chairs for the pools and if you leave your stuff on the chairs for too long they will take them off and give the chairs away to others. - The water slides that go into the ocean are not really safe. You would think as their biggest attraction there would be life guards around that area….nope…..nothing. My children were looking forward to sliding into the ocean, but unfortunately couldn’t experience that because we weren’t sure how they would even get out of the ocean! Do NOT waste your money going to this so called “all inclusive” resort. It was far from an all inclusive resort.

I absolutely don’t recommend this hotel, better find another reasonable hotel, DONT BOOK it’s scam, There’s customer service is quite annoying! Few speak English, Recently I booked this hotel, I received a lot of booking confirmation via my email with different reservation numbers, the last email I received the booking was cancelled! The next day morning , this hotel charge me €494 on my credit account! I requested a refund! They wanted to give me a voucher, Of course I declined the voucher, €494 was charged on my credit card and your want to give me a voucher instead of refunding me the full amount of €494 in this economy. According to their email I received yesterday stated, We charged you as per contract and consequentely we would be authorized to charge the 100% penalty. Exceptionally, we will only keep € 164,00 refunding the rest of the amount. The cancellation policy is so wrong! You can’t charge 100% penalty for cancellation. To my surprise, they only refunded me €164! Instead of refunding me the the full amount of €494 This Hotel is a SCAM!

Absolutely massive complex that’s honestly getting quite old in some areas. I don’t see the experience as negative as some of the 1 star reviews I’ve been seeing, however, compared to other 4 star resorts this definitely is the worst one I’ve ever seen. The rooms are clean and quite modern, the daily cleaning is great, however the breakfast are really nothing special. Coffee is horrendous, in a place that advertises itself like this I really wouldn’t expect to find only instant coffee. Don’t expect anything great from dinner and lunch either, however, it is a bit better than breakfast, at least there’s more options to choose from. For the price we paid I was honestly expecting better service, so we are leaving slightly disappointed. One of the only upsides is great view from the main dining area.

It's a beautiful resort, it clean and tidy, pools are good and clean, view fantastic but the buffets were very limited with no varieties.

An amazing family vacation in the all inclusive resort. Highly recommended for the food, drinks, pools, animation etc. Moreover it has value for money especially if you are with young kids. If you want a totally relaxing holiday that doesn’t break the bank, Citta del Mare is just for you!

I would not recommend staying here. This "resort" provided one of the worst holidays I've ever had. The advertising for this place on English holiday websites is completely false and misleading. It certainly is not a 4 star resort - more like a 2 star. It is completely tailored towards families. Do not go there as a couple expecting a peaceful getaway. As the other reviews mention, the walls are paper thin so you hear every single noise from the surrounding rooms. Worst of all was the food. The quality was worse than a school canteen (and yes, it is literally a canteen with limited operating hours). All of the food had some kind of meat or cheese on it, so if you are a vegetarian or vegan you will struggle (though even if you aren't you won't want to eat it). We had to go into Palermo every day for an escape to get some real food. We even booked a BNB last minute to escape in an attempt to salvage our holiday. The only positives were the sea view (which is spectacular) and the main olympic-sized swimming pool.

We were there for 8 nights, let’s start with the positives we’re the view and the waterslides that go into the fresh sea, the beach bus goes regularly to the beach and it was no problem to get there. The food was very poor and it was the same always and there were very little selection. In breakfast there was no omelette, no fried egg. To get pizza you have to stand in a hour long queue then the pizza was only a basic pizza with Frankfurter sausages and canned mushrooms as the toppings. Is this Italian pizza? I don’t think it’s really Italian. The swimming pools after breakfast all the sunbeds were taken. The pools were very noisy and it was very busy and crowded and you can’t even relax. That the shows were all done in Italian not in other languages. The staff are good but they need more staff to cover the whole resort. The sports in the mini club were good they just did it in Italian but they translated it to English. The rooms were good and the towels were regularly changed. But at the beach they don’t give beach or pool towels. For 3 years we wanted to enjoy a relaxing all inclusive holiday but because of noise and overcrowding it wasn’t what we expected.

Food: If you are a vegetarian, please avoid this hotel at all cost. They have no vegetarian option in hot dishes. My family had to survive on pasta and tomato sauce for our 5 days duration for lunch and dinner. The breakfast was no good, no vegetarian options. We reached a point where I we made every effort to order from outside, but location of the resort is such that no restaurant delivers food to the resort. Location: I look at the location as well connected location and as photography/relaxing location. In terms of well connected, I rate this as Zero. I could not even get a taxi using any mobile app. No wonder why no restaurant don't deliver food here in terms of photography, you will have nice spots to click pictures. Room: Basic room with beds. Not mordern. Service: I rate zero. Our flight was cancelled and we knew about it 2 weeks in advance. We agreed with CDS the rate and for one day extra stay. When we reached reception to pay for extra day. SURPRISE!! They did not give us agreed rate even when I have it written in the email. It took me 1 hour and a lot of stress to make them hounor their email. They came as a greedy hotel with 100 reasons for rate change. We booked a taxi pick and drop to the city. Paid at reception. Kids excited and sat in the van. The driver say that taxi is not booked for city, it is booked only till Terrasini. OMG. We went back to reception they say, oh it is an error and eventually cancelled our booking. This was the only holiday from where I came back more stressed then how I will normally come back from daily office. Avoid this hotel.

A very nice location, rooms need a bit of update though very clean . Need better management especially when it comes to food and beverage. Food not more than 3 star standard and more than international, it's more suited for locals. Lo siciliano restaurant always the same menu and you have to be lucky to book even if you at 7.30 in the morning which doesn't make any sense.

Spectacular views, really good entertainment, lovely choice of pools. There is also a pool area with a slide that takes you into the sea. Not a place I would return to as reception staff are uncooperative and the buffet dining experience every evening reminded me of a Russian boot camp and if you want the beach, a short shuttle bus journey takes you there. The spa service was poor as treatments were always fully booked.

Very old facilities and limited food and drink services. They ran out of alcohol and the buffet runs out of food near closing time. Very disappointed in facilities and quality of food. I would not come back. They have very limited food and close restaurants early . We had an 8 hour power outage. The beach is rocky and dirty. They need to invest some of their profit in the facilities! I don't recommend the place and would never come here again! I only gave one star because no star wasn't an option.

I stayed here in mid October, in low season. There were only a few guests around. We had a great time. Friendly staff. Great walks. Fun slides. Large swimming pools.

The only positive thing to say about this hotel is their unique slide directly into the sea. Be aware that you need to climb the whole steps again once you finished on the slides. We are a young couple in our 30s and we were out of breath every time. Sun beds are available near the slides and the view into the sea is breathtaking.

Horrific experience at this hotel. They advertise it is possible to have peace and quiet and relax but none of this is true. There is noise and shouting everywhere. No insulation at all in the rooms and the acoustic in the food area is terrible as well. Rooms desperately need to be renovated, pictures on the website are from around 10 years ago and nothing has been done in the time. Dirty stains on the walls and no toiletries (in an ALL-INCLUSIVE resort?!). Pools are way too crowded and toboggan is frequently closed for no reason. Very sad because this is the reason a lot of people visit this hotel. You have to pay extra for ice cream, to rent sports material, etc. etc. The bars are understaffed so dirty (wasps flying around everywhere) and long waiting lines. When it's finally your turn you get the most little plastic cup with gross drinks. Only plus is the location but still would strongly advise NOT TO GO HERE!

It's a huge hotel which looled like a retirement home at first by the no. of oldies you see there, and it feels a bit dated and disappointed not to have any kettle in the room. But the views from the room are amazing and the excellent service makes up for it. :)

  • 3/5 Miroslava H. 8 months ago on Google
If you don't speak Italian, don't bother. Very few people could speak english or French. All entertainment only in Italian. Majority of guests are Italian and you feel overlooked on many occasions at bars or restaurant. When you complain about anything, they don't care. They are lucky with a breathtaking view. We missed most of lunches as decided to explore island instead and eat a proper Italian food.

If there was a minus zero that is what i would give!!! I am annoyed at customers that put positive reviews this is not fair for someone trying to make an expensive decision on a holiday. There is only one positive thing to say the view. The hotel is old, run down. Broken paths not safe for children or elderly. The rooms and bathrooms are like something out of the 70s. It is miles away from anywhere that you could get decent food. So essentially you are stuck in a run down prison with school dinners. BEWARE!!!!!! don't book. It was so bad we left after 2 nights and moved to another hotel.

Arrived at the 27th of August, don't have much to say about the room nice and clean. But the breakfast was a mess . Dirty table all over the place. Give kids plastic spoon for breakfast cereal. And coffee machine is not working. Half the staff are missing. .nothing to say . There was about 6 apple left

Dates hotel with limited scope. Fantastic location, but hotel is looking bit dated. We had one evening there and then decided it was not cost effective. Dining options very limited. Lots of facilities and staff were fantastic and extremely helpful.

We are just back from CDS Terrasini and have only good things to say. Rooms were clean, staff attentive (even putting up with my poor attempt at Italian). A lot of other reviews look negatively on the food, but, it's well cooked and tasty but not masses of choice. I would say it's definitely value for money when we looked at the additional cost. There are very minor negatives. Without a car then you are slightly stuck in the middle of nowhere, but not a problem really if you are happy with pools, bars, tennis courts etc all in the one place. Meal timings, breakfast too early (well not long enough, your on holiday and 9am finish is too early) and the European style dinner is too late (1930 onwards) Oh bonus point WiFI is great. We are already looking forward to next year and happy to try another CDS location.

Excellent animation stuff and Dj. I like that there is possible to party even till 2:00 AM, without disturbing sleeping guests. Very good job for management: Marie and Luca were very helpful with organization for group of 35 people 🤗

Hotel staff was disorganized and not professional. Food at the restaurant was really poor quality. Out of 4 rooms, 1 had no air conditioning, and it was not repaired despite daily com0lains within the 4 days of our business trip. The place is wonderful but the commidties are a mess.

We enjoyed our stay, the hotel catered for our party (over 300 people from all over the world for a conference over Friday Saturday Sunday) very well. The hotels beautiful grounds in a stunning location. The hotel is very large there are many pools and bars and places to relax, most of the rooms have incredible views.

Very large hotel complex ,built on a hill so alot of walking and stairs . Beautiful views over the med weather was fab. Hotel quite isolated, not great variety in the food ,no supermarket on site and doesn't really cater to British tourists . Over a weekend very busy ,hotel 90% italian ,who can be rude and staff will serve them first Did have a great holiday ,rooms clean and comfortable, went on boat trip to caves at tressina which was a great day out . Lots to do in the hotel and there is a public bus service to palermo

There was very few things good about this resort. For the positive, the view is amazing and its a nice private beach (you need to take a shuttle there). Most of the staff were not hospitable, obviously just didn't care about the guests, and made more problems and confusion. As soon as we got there, the lobby was full with people for a chess tournament and you couldn't even check in with all the noise and staff handing us off to each other multiple times. They gave me a map and circled where my room was and sent me on my way. I don't care about someone carrying my bags or if there's no elevators, but there was no communication and no help, letting us wander around in the heat with 2 large luggages and having difficulty finding our room. The electricity for several lights and the wifi would go out frequently for our room. It was not a problem if we weren't in the room, but whenever we spent some time resting in the room, we would often have to call and ask them to restore it (half the time the staff were insistent that I was doing wrong when I said clearly someone kept blowing a fuse and they need to send someone). I would not have been so annoyed about this, but wifi was the only way I can communicate with family back home. The food was mostly terrible. The buffet was very limited and just many empty stations. One thing we never understood was there was a separate section of buffet that was all set. Guests would sit down getting ready to go get food and the staff would say no, you have to go to the other dining room. Not a big deal but just really confusing, a half hour later, itd be full like they just gave up on telling people to leave. It was a very uncomfortable stay, feeling almost like a hostage rather than a guest. During our trip throughout Italy, we were looking forward to the last few days at a resort just to rest after all the sightseeing. When we got there, we just couldn't wait to get home as it was anything but relaxing. My family went to this resort several years ago and raved about their stay and the food and everything, but I suppose since CDS has taken over, this resort has really gone down. Very disappointing.

Excellent hotel, Really good entertainment team, beautiful people, good food, I remember the nights in the terrace, from 21.00 o'clock it's changing to a dance party, and whole the people get up to dance.

Pretty good hotel and resort. Nice atmosphere and many activities taking place. A bit remote of the action but still on walkable distance.

the place is gorgeous, high over a bay, with outstanding view. Unfortunately, the service / personnel is the worst ever! A shame...; 1h for check in. Paid more than the booking without explanation given; door keys not working. AC not working in the room. It took multiple calls to reception and 4h to give us another room. Breakfast buffet overcrowded and very noisy, with no help from personnel; no assistance in the swimming pool area; no towels; no help with sunbeds.

A perfect place with great food. Clean hotel with a family atmosphere. I recommend.

  • 5/5 Moritz N. 5 years ago on Google
The place is a bit frayed at the edges and the coffee at the breakfast buffet is horrible. This is however well compensated by an amazing location and grand views. Cleanliness was good and the staff was friendly. No beach access but the waterslides and the rock bathing spot look amazing. Adjust your expectations and you will be happy. If you are the type that looks for imperfections you should look elsewhere and pay triple for a tad more.

Ideal place for families who wish to experience vacations while staying in one place. The hotel provides lots of swimming pools, attractions, music, games and other forms of entertainment. The staff is nice and respectful. I do not recommend this place for people who expect something "100% luxurious" or who want to travel much around Sicily. However if you just want to sunbathe and use the local attractions which are mostly for free, without going far from your hotel room - you are in the right place! (beer and whine is also free!)
