Botanical park with very poor maintenance, it seems that there haven’t been any gardeners taking care of the park in years. Weeds and dry leaves prevail everywhere (autumn was almost a year ago, nobody has cleaned the leaves since…) and many species look dry and unhealthy. They certainly don’t invest the money that comes from the tickets (7€ full price!) towards the park. It’s a shame, because it has great potential. Completely not worth the price. If you still want to go, bring mosquito repellent.

Enchanting botanical garden! Probably one of most beautiful of all Europe! Whenever you love botany or not this should not to be missed when in Palermo! Any period of the year is beautiful. I’m totally sure you won’t be disappointed..

Beautiful place to get away from the bustling life of Palermo and forget you’re in the capital of Sicily. The variety of plants is very good and it is very peaceful to walk around there. Be careful of the bugs though as they will bite

I highly recommend visiting the Orto Botanico di Palermo! It is a beautiful botanical garden with a wide variety of plants from all over the world. I was particularly impressed by the collection of cacti and succulents, as well as the Japanese garden. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and they are always happy to answer any questions you may have. I visited the garden on a sunny day in September, and it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. There are many shady spots where you can take a break and people-watch. I also saw a few families with young children, and the kids seemed to be having a great time exploring the gardens. Overall, I had a wonderful time at the Orto Botanico di Palermo. It is a great place to visit for people of all ages, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in plants, nature, or history.

Really nice botanical garden, good selection of plants you can find here. Maybe a little bit overgrown and untended, but very charismatic Really recommend visiting during winter, all citrus trees are in season and it smells amazing! Bamboo garden, cacti alley, orchid greenhouse and pretty big monstera. A lot of birds (including parrots), huge ficus trees and palm alley

Absolutely wonderful little botanical garden full of local and exotic plants surrounded by neoclassical little buildings that gives a remembrance of old Greek and Roman times. When the weather get too hot it’s a perfect place to have a rest. There’s also a little cafe inside the garden.

“A must see spot in Palermo” Glad to cut the Palermo Botanical Garden out of my bucket list. It’s a wonderful place with lots of diverse flowers, trees and fruit trees. For someone that enjoys the nature I truly recommend visiting the Botanical Garden.

Very lovely place with great specimens and collections. Definitely worth the visit, at least for the bamboo mini-forest. It is sad to see that it is starting to degrade in some areas (the further you go in the back), as it seems to be in great need of maintenance.

Lovely botanical gardens near the harbor front. Nice tranquil space away from the bustle of the main tourist areas. Around €15 for a family, has a nice cafe to enjoy drinks and snacks after exploring. There is a free public park adjacent to the gardens if you don't want to pay. Worth visiting.

A quiet moment of peace and calm amidst the hustle and business of Palermo. There are gorgeous trees and plants of all sorts and it didn’t seem particularly crowded. There were some biting insects in the shade but that’s not their fault. Would really recommend a visit

Orto Botanico dell'Università degli Studi di Palermo is a botanical haven in Palermo, Sicily. Established in 1779, this lush oasis houses an extensive collection of plant species, from exotic to indigenous. Wander through themed gardens, such as the aromatic herb garden or the succulent collection. The historical significance, coupled with the serene atmosphere, makes it an ideal escape for nature enthusiasts and those seeking a tranquil retreat amidst Palermo's urban bustle.

Wonderful botanical gardens. I visited mid October 2023 on a lovely and warm day. The gardens are very easy to reach; just a short walk from the main train station. The entrance and book/gift shop are well organised. The price is reasonable (€7 when I visited). The plants are clearly labelled even if some of the older labels are now quite difficult to decipher. There seems to be a wider range of plants kept outdoors compared to other botanical gardens in Italy... obviously due to the climate. It's a great place to wander round, breathe and take in the unique sights, smells and sounds. I definitely want to revisit in another season. As I was leaving I noticed an area was being set up for a wine-tasting event that evening. Can't think of anywhere lovelier to hold such an event.

Beautiful botanical park close to the city center. Lots of places to sit and relax, spend some romantic time or have fun with kids. Toilets inside. There is also small cafe but overpriced.

Beautiful! Placed in a position not very cleaned of Palermo still MUST go to see! Can be improved but on final it's important that teleport you in other world.

Perfect garden it's huge it has great variety super fun to explore. The price for people under 25 is 4€ which was cool. They asked us tho if we are interested in paying 1€ more in order to see the archeological museum inside the garden and we said yes but after all it was open and everyone could go inside without a ticket so that was a bit sneaky of them. Anyways super cool garden !!

I think it's worth a visit. It's a shame that they don't look after the garden, you can see that some of the potted plants need weeding and care. But still a lot of impressions, in the garden there is a great cafe with comfortable sofas.

Such a beautiful, diversed and green place! Worth visiting if you're tired of the city noise, heat and an overwhelming crowd. You can also meet parrots, robins and turtles here, as well as the stray cats. The Garden is big enough to spend hours inside, under the refreshing shadow given by a various types of trees and bushes. There is a small bookstore and a little souvenir stand (if you want something original from Palermo, you should come here! You won't find these anywhere else!). Beware of hornets and bloody mosquitos 😅.

This Botanical garden in the heart of Palermo is amazing. One of the most incredible gardens i have ever seen!! If i could give it a 10 out of 10 i would. A must see if you are visiting Palermo.

While the garden contains many pretty plants and some amazing Fics macrophylla, the overall layout and upkeep does not feel very aesthetically pleasing compared with many other botanical gardens. There are a few impressive buildings, but overall it didn't make the entrance fee feel very good value for money.

Fantastic place to visit. It's not a perfect place for everyone but it's a place where you can cool off, relax. Get in touch with nature. I would fairly say it's between 4 and 5 stars, but I'll make it five due to the fact the staff speak English. Ps. They lack toilet paper in man's toilet. Let's shame them until they add those!

A very beautiful Botanical garden, on the outskirts of the old city. Worth a detour. It is not so well known that it sits in the area where the autos de Fe were performed, from the XVI century until 1724. Knowing this makes you value even more the peace of mind that the place arouses centuries later. The entrance buildings are ridiculous, almost like a postmodernist collage of classical elements, but they were built in the end of the XVIII century by Leon Dufourny. The greenhouses and some areas of the garden are in a clear state of disrepair, but this process of the natural slowly engulfing the artificial adds to the peace you feel when experiencing the diversity of plants present.

The botanical gardens are soo nice. There is a huge variety of plants, trees and flowers and also several greenhouses with different biomes. There are suggested routes that are color coded with estimated time of the tour we were following the red one and ended up making our own way. The entry ticket is 7 euros for the general public and 4 euros for under 25 it is free for erasmus student studying in Palermo.

Beautiful and interesting garden, with a bunch of themed greenhouses, water features, and indoor galleries & collections. Such a nice way to spend a sunny day! We went in late April and mosquitoes weren't an issue at all.

Opened in 18th century can boast about very rich collection of flora. Undisputable kings of this garden are huge ficuses. I also recommend to see and touch the real cork tree (very rare nowadays). If you're lucky you can see parrots, lizards and snakes that inhabit the garden. Beautiful, exotic place to have a walk and rest from scorching sun. 🦜🐍🦎

The grounds are beautiful. The buildings are AMAZING!!! Perfect Neo-Classical buildings with Egyptian motifs. A Treasure- thankfully, very well Preserved! Hopefully they will remain this way for centuries

Nice and quiet place with beautiful specimens of special trees, cacti, bamboo. Maintenance is not up to par with the beauty of these plants and trees. There seems to be emphasis on the light show in the evening instead of eye for the daytime experience. Nevertheless I'd recommend visiting this enchanting place to get out of the buzz in busy Palermo
