Nice zoo to visit and as an escape from the city. There are many animal species from large ones to smaller ones including various insects, and its quite well kept. Afaik there is no public transport to reach, though there is large parking if you arrive by car. I went on a hot summer day and it wasn’t crowded. There is also petting area with goats, sheep, pony etc… there is a restaurant / cafe and a gift shop inside but i didnt check the prices. Full tickets is 16€ and reservation is mandatory but its easy to do online and there is usually free slots.

Very nice little zoo, many different animals. I especially limed that comete zoo is in shade of trees. I am sure also animals appreciate that and it is easier to see them outside. Lynx, bear, wolf, giraffe... There was no elephant and hippo, enclosures were empty.

We had a wonderful day here! A nice zoo with healthy looking animals, embedded in a forest. Very recommendable!

The park is in a desolate and terrible condition. The animals have hardly any space and whats worst: the health of the animals is alarming. The ostrich hardly has any feathers left, is bleeding and looks sick. A report has been made to the responsible veterinary authority - hopefully at least they will feel responsible for the animals well beeing if the zoo is not. It is awful and cruel.

We generally don't visit zoos as we don't like seeing animals in cages. However, this zoo is different. Animals are not in cages but in free areas where they can roam freely, of course within some boundaries. You can see all kinds of animals and learn about them. They also have some 20-minute shows with birds and other species. I loved it!

Limited display of animal around 1pm due to day heat. Otherwise a nice well balanced Zoo for families with kids up to 10 yo.

This is a smaller zoo, we paid kn the day and arrived early so.were.few people in the park. Clear map and layout is on a holl but easy walking and fine for buggies and small walking children. My children both enjoyed the time spent there.

Very nice with kids: not too big and plenty of play area for kids along the way. Tips: take your own food as there are nice shadowed picnic spots.

Good zoo with playground for children, reasonable price — some animals were either hard to find, well hidden, or currently unavailable but despite that family had a great day out, easy to get to from main roads with a car, restaurant on site opened at 12.

Großteils Artgerechter Zoo mit vielen verschiedenen Tieren, definitiv einen Ausflug wert. Wir waren 3 Stunden auf dem Gelände unterwegs und haben alles erkunden können. Hunde und Kinder freundlich.

A wonderful zoo! It is indeed not very big, but you can easily spend 3-4 hours here, like we did. There is a lot of shade, which is important on a hot summer day. A nice playground for children. We loved the variety of animals and how everything is arranged. Make sure you have comfortable shoes, as the zoo is on the hill and you will need to walk up and down a lot. But it's doable even with small children and a stroller!

A really nice zoo with a lot of animals. Reasonable entry price although we could have saved by booking in advance. Plenty of free parking which is always welcome. Only niggle was a few empty enclosures and/or animals impossible to see. I know this is to be expected but it still disappoints. A bonus was that the gift shop was closed which saved me money! We did visit mid week in October. Overall well worth a visit.

We visited in the morning and although animals such as the bears, wolves etc were still in their bed, the kids (2&4) had a blast- as did we. The park is not too large and has lots of opportunities to stop and play in the playgrounds or for a bite to eat. The kids particularly enjoyed seeing the guinea pigs and their babies.

Am amazing zoo experience !! Loved animals so wanted to go to this zoo whilst we were in Italy. The zoo was a perfect size, it wasn’t too large to walk around but not to small either. The animals had lovely enclosures with lots of greenery and space for the animals. The zoo didn’t feel run down, it was clean and had lots of nice natural shade on this particular sunny day ! There was an amazing range of animals and I even got to see my favourite, Capybaras, which cannot be found in UK zoos, so that was cool !! The giftshop was nice too where I bough a cute Guinea pig stuffed animal. I’d recommend seeing the Guinea pigs, they were adorable !

This is a gem of a zoo, impeccably maintained, happy, clearly well-cared for animals in spacious habitats, charming staff - honestly can’t recommend it highly enough! Even without animals it would be a beautiful park to visit. Particularly in love with the elephant, tapir, capybara, penguins, meercats... We were fortunate to meet the zoo director and various members of his staff - deeply committed to animal welfare and educational programs. Definitely five star operation!!!

Great place to spend a day with your family members, a bit confusing the way they made the map but it’s okay.

A fairly good zoo. Bar and cafe were underwhelming and many of the more interesting animals were hiding away. Obviously this isn't something that can be controlled. Plenty of space to walk around and a nice half day out for the kids.

Great little zoo. Happy animals, lots of places for children to play and lots of shade. Good place to stop between florence and pisa. Great for small children. Animals to pat. Parking and nice looking restaurant but we didnt eat there.

We are from Arizona, USA and had a very enjoyable experience at this fabulous animal park! Pistoia can be very proud to how such an attraction it can call its own. All of the enclosures have multiple viewing points and all of the paths are well maintained. An awesome place to bring your family and especially children...

It is probably the nicest Zoo in the area. Has a good group of well maintained animal exhibitions and large green areas to walk and discover the animals. It isn’t big but has an good size to entertain for a few hours

Very well-kept and quiet place, lots of space for the animals (which is good). However, I was slightly disappointed that most interesting animals were not to be seen (either sleeping or spending time indoors). I understand that it's not a show and they are not supposed to entertain me all the time. But if there were certain feeding times during the day, the animals would be more active (especially the most interesting ones - lynx, wolves, lion, red panda etc..(didn't see any of them, unfortunately).

The zoo is good enough for 3-4 hours visit as a family if looking for something to do with a child on holiday. We went with our 1 year old and he had heaps load of fun. Tickets were very cheap 4 euros per adult. A few animals weren't at the premise but there were still lots to see tiger, lion, penguins. The area with the goats, guinea pigs is also great for children as they could touch them a little bit. Also the childrens play ground was nice. If you've been to bigger zoos you might not be overly impressed but considering it was impromptu if you are visiting nearby towns it's something nice to do if with kids. Our little one absolutely loved it.

Ideal place for families with and without kids, this place feels like a shelter where animals from difficult backgrounds can find safety and rest, and kids can wander around and feed their curiosity.

Great stroking zoo. There are steps and a lot of up and down walking paths. I have visited many zoos, Chicago, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, ect but Zoo of Pistoia is very unique.

Albino peacocks are must see yet very loud :) Very family friendly, small zoo. They have vanilla coca cola! Kids love the slushies. They had so much fun! Parking is easy too.
