The reviews here are not doing this place justice, the park is absolutely amazing and animals look very good and well looked after(vet opinion, not random free all the animals opinion). The fact that it's free makes it a must if you're in Palermo.

I was thinking of poor animals small cages too as many other visitors or reviews. Then I heard that the animals here were all locally born - not captured in the wild and many of which are even rescue animals. And I understood how important this place is. One more thing, watch out there are two pairs of peacocks at large!

A little gem in the chaos of Palermo. Orleans park is a very well curated space, full of rescued animals, in search of love. I strongly suggest y’all to interact with the local guards. They will guide you around with valuable tips on the permanent resident and their story.

Really well taken care of park. Some things under construction, but it’s typical for January. Animals are clean and active, running around, sometimes interacting by locking their eyes Very nice fauna with beautiful plants and trees There was some foul smell, but only in one particular place. Bathrooms are on premises & they have disability access. Admission is free!!

Free to visit beautiful little park with giant trees and animals. Unfortunately the cages are too small for most of them. But they are currently constructing new areas and hopefully new cages as well.

Place is nice but some animals are in cages who are too small for them and not treated well imo. It's free and it's good, if paid is not really worth it

Worthwhile to stop by. It is free to enter. Would be nicer without all the animals.

It is nice for children, but the place is in a bad shape, the animals cages aren't clean or in a good condition, the whole parc need to be refreshed.

Lovely place very close by to the history centre of the city, directly infront of the old Royal Palace. One negative tidbit though... not a lot of space to sit! I believe there are... 3 benches? Then again, its a small park so it should be no problem most of the time. Great spot for kids or just to relax a little bit.

Beautiful menagerie of birds. But the garden is very close to the main road, so the outside noise clashes unpleasantly with the serene environment.

Its unhuman to treat animals like this. Small cages, small space even for birds. Dead will be beter for this animals, than living like this. Terible. Palermo should be ashame of this. 🤢🤢

Beautiful oasis in the city. One of the most well maintained areas in Palermo. Recently re-opened after being renovated. Beautiful walkways with lots of plants, ponds with carp and tortoises, plenty of birds to see including parrots, flamingos, birds of prey, emus and peacocks. They even have some deer. Clean bathrooms. Better than the botanical garden - And it's all for free!

  • 1/5 Tobias H. 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely horrible how these animals are held in way too small cages. I wish the person who put them in such conditions would have to live like this for a month themself….

  • 4/5 Ágnes L. 1 year ago on Google
Unfortunately the park was undergoing renovations when we went there and almost half of it was closed down. Regardless, it was worth it. Entrance was free and the toilet is decent. Check opening times in advance, as they close at 1PM and not open in Monday

a relaxing oasis in the hustle and bustle of the city & free entry. the opening hours are a bit unfortunate but it's probably better for the animals so they have more peace. We can definitely recommend to visit

Best park in Sicily! We killed 2-3 hours here. It’s beautiful and there are so many animals to see.

Relaxing and peaceful, public and free (WC included). Caged birds raises an ethical question, but the botanical part is delightful.

(Translated by Google) The park can boast a great variety of animals (almost exclusively birds, even if it hosts a nice monkey). Carina is the idea of leaving the peacocks free, it helps to create a characteristic atmosphere. The feeling is of a state of absolute well-being, a sort of fusion with nature ... right in the center of Palermo. Admission is free, too bad that recently they have put the rule that only children and their carers can enter. The small lake with turtles looks like a Zen pond, but it is difficult to pause for a long time on the benches that line it because of mosquitoes, even if this occurs mostly in summer. However, opening hours could be extended (it is only in the morning).

Top 5 things to do in Palermo!! The best maintained and most beautiful park in Palermo, range of exotic birds, turtles, deer, emues all set in a spectacular garden of jungle palms, banana trees and vines. And the best thing is it's free 👌🏽 skip the expensive, old, badly maintained Botanical gardens and go here instead.

Nice park with many animals to see (deer, parrots, flamingos, pelicans, owls, turtles, tortoises, fish, falcons, parakeets, emu etc). The cages unfortunately are rather small but it does provide an hour of entertainment for kids.
