Something to do. We buy passes every year just for something to do. One time is kind of enough, but we go all the time just because we LOVE stopping to have a picnic lunch and play in the creek on the way out. We usually show up at opening and say hello to our favorite animals and then head to the creek for the rest of the afternoon. As a combo, it’s a great way to spend a sunny day. We catch minnows and crayfish and tadpoles and frogs at the creek. (and put them back.) the creek is perfect for kids of all ages. My older kids look at wildlife and skip rocks and explore, my preschool/toddler age kids are happy just running through the creek, which is just the right level for them to be free to roam.

Really cool zoo! It was quiet and clean. All of the animals had enrichment in their areas and the animals look very well taken care of. It's a pretty intimate experience as you can stand pretty close to the animals near their enclosures. There is a really cool scenery spot to stop at before you get to the zoo parking lot too! I highly recommend checking this out, kids will definitely love this and there are many educational signs and opportunities.

Small zoo thats pretty good for little kids, or if you're just looking for something to do. We really liked the zebras and giraffes. There were a lot of enclosures that didn't seem to have any animals in them, or else they were just hiding. There was a playground in the middle of the zoo which I think was really cool. I would go again with my small daughter but don't expect to be blown away. There was a really cool river recreation area on the way out I would plan to spend some time at next time!

Always a good stop to see. Zoo is closed now but the roaming animals were out and about. Buffalo, Elk, White Tail Deer was great to have seen. Scenery for the close of the day was 👍.

A good sized zoo located in the Lehigh Valley. A variety of different animals, an adjacent wildlife reserve, a playground, some interactive exhibits. Free parking, food stations, places to sit down, gift shops and bathrooms.

I freaking love giraffes!! They are so majestic 🤩 Buy tickets online beforehand if you want to feed the giraffes. I didn’t know I had to buy the tickets first, so I stood there 10 minutes to watch them eat, still great. A great place for families. We saw a lot of kids, and it seem like they all were having a lot of fun. Not a big zoo, but there are still some cool animals, and it’s nice to have one in the area. When we were waiting in line, a mom asked her kid which animal was his favorite, and he said the OTTER! Yes, the otter is pretty cool too.

Great little zoo perfect for a day trip. Has a good variety of animals such as penguins, wolves, many reptiles and birds a giraffe you can feed and more. Has a little eatery and multiple vending machines. Has a gift shop of of course. Plenty of parking even on busy days. Bring my kids here a few times a summer and they always enjoy themselves. Also has a river area on the way out you can swim in or just hang out by.

Lived in lehigh valley all my life and never been to the zoo. Came for the holiday display and what a beautiful time for families. Loved the assemble of lights and lots to do for kids. The adult hot chocolate was a nice touch on a cold night. Book online as it fills up fast.

My brother and I had a great time here. Loved feeding the giraffes and learning about them from the volunteers. I enjoyed watching the penguins get fed. Animals were well cared for, and I felt like they had adequate space, which isn't always the case at other zoos. I would definitely come back again!

Went to the Christmas light show and it was beautiful! Was our first time there. Walked at our own pace no kids but plenty there. The displays were awesome. There was a woman performing Christmas tunes. Had a great voice. We'll be back!

Nice little zoo! Doesn’t take too long to get thru. Some of the signs need updating-we weren’t exactly sure of some species of the animals we were looking at because the sign was so worn. We loved the creek crossing when leaving!!!

Great little zoo. Perfect size to hold the interest of a toddler. Beautiful Christmas 🎄 decorations. We picked the perfect day to go. Weather was awesome. Chilly but bearable. Zoo was not crowded at all! We pretty much had the whole place to ourselves.

Always a nice time here...staff is friendly and the animals love the attention. The reptile house is sometimes a where's waldo situation but that's the same in any zoo. Be prepared just in case u need a snack to bring your own. We were there on a Wednesday afternoon at noon and the food stand was closed.

Nice small zoo. Got to see animals throughout the globe mostly from North America, Australia and Africa. The zoo was doable for about 3 hours and I got to see every exhibit twice. The staff was friendly.

Beautiful and clean zoo with friendly staff. The animals had decent sized space for their needs. There was a nice variety of animals and the zoo is small enough to keep young kids engaged. If you have young kids, you should be able to get through it before the kids get bored and restless. I loved watching the otters, they were playful and entertaining. And you won't want to miss the penguin feeding. That was a hoot. I just loved seeing all the beautiful animals and asking the knowledgeable staff questions.

Awesome, knowledgeable staff. Very clean, and unlike some zoos where you question if they really do have any animals, nearly every animal was visible in their environments. Takes about 2 hours to see everything. When you leave the zoo, drive slowly and pay attention for herds of reindeer and buffalo roaming the fields...an incredible sight you could miss if you're unaware.

We love this little zoo for a day out! Can bring your own food and drinks. They also have food, which was delicious 😋 And I mean everything was good and prices were reasonable. You can bring a stroller or wagon and get around the whole zoo. They have a playground and a nursing station (small closet type room) and an area with oversized blocks and games. Our favorite part is feeding the giraffes 🦒

It's a great zoo to take little kids to. We spent about 3 hours there including lunch. I had a 5 yr old and 11 yr old with me. They loved the maze and the playground and the wolf. You definitely have to order tickets early to feed the giraffe. I thought we'd see the zookeepers feeding them. No. The kids feed them that have tickets. Tickets sell out fast. It's fun and educational to watch the zookeepers feed the penguins. It's not so large that it wears out Grandma. I put on about 8,000+ steps yesterday so it's a great workout with the hills. I loved seeing the Trexler Preserve with the creek, bison herd, and incredible views. I'll definitely be back to enjoy the preserve. It's over a mile from the main road to get to the zoo and probably 2+ miles to get out. Enjoy the views on the way out and allow time for that. FYI you do have to cross a creek on a spillway (that can flood sometimes) to exit the zoo. Be aware your car will go through water.

Beautiful. Animals seemed well taken care of. My only complaint was that you sell tokens online but only one area was open that you could use them. (I’m guessing because it’s February) It’d probably be a good idea to list that online somewhere. The tokens are good for any visit though, so if you don’t use them, save for next time if you live near by.

We went on a Saturday and it wasn't nearly as crowded as I thought it would be. Admission is a decent price. We got tokens to do some activities like spin the wheel for a prize and feed the goats. The line for feeding the giraffe was way too long so we skipped that. A lot of the animals were hiding I guess cause it was so hot. It's not super big. It was the perfect size to keep my 7 year old son interested but not too big for him to get overwhelmed. They had a nice little playground for a break. Both of the items my kids got at the gift shop broke later that day and we're pricey. All the employees were very nice and good with my son who loves to chat with everyone. Will go again!

It is a small zoo but packs a good punch. The location is stunning. Trexler nature preserve is so beautiful. Feeding the giraffes was awesome. I wish they had more animals. The facilities are a little outdated and some are in need of repair. The food could be better, but does the job. The gift shop could use some updating. They should take a page from Greenfield Village in Detroit, Michigan (that is the best gift shop I’ve ever been to). On the exit, you “ford” the Jordan Creek, which was very unique and fun! Next time I’ll have to bring water stuff to have fun in the creek and maybe a picnic. The bison on the way out are also great to look at! Overall, such a great zoo with lots of potential. 🌿

It's a great little zoo in a unique location. I have a toddler so I love that it isn't massive and overstimulating. I would like to see the reptile house have some work done to enclosures(some of the glass is pretty foggy) but I know they're always upgrading things, like the lemurs and penguins in the last year, so that's great. You also can't beat the drive out through the river, and getting to see the elk and bison.

It was so fun to visit this zoo located in the middle of a nature preserve. I really appreciated how serious they were to ensure that only a limited number of visitors were allowed in at a time, small groups in the exhibits, cleaning and sanitizing of hands before and after interacting with any animals and of course mask wearing at all times! We loved everything about this place and will definitely be making the drive to come back again.

We go at least once every year The kids love this place and it’s wallet friendly. Easy to get to, parking is simple, getting in is easy and your kids will have a blast. We love the penguins and the wolves. However this past trip the giraffe stole the show. This place is great for younger to early teens. It’s not a huge zoo so don’t plan for an entire day. But if you do know they do have side exhibits and food. Some are pricey but the kids will love it. Go and enjoy.

Great small zoo. Took my Grandson here for his 2nd birthday. He loved it. Many different animals in large pens. Hands on giraffe feeding station. Public Restrooms were clean and well Maintained. Staff was friendly and professional. A few souvenir shops, well stocked with products. Fair price to get into the zoo. Stayed for the penguin feeding. It was fantastic. They feed the animals and had young lady give a talk during the feeding. Very Informative. Took about 2 hours to get around the zoo. There were several food and drink vendors. We did not have any food or drink. Free parking. Lots of shade and seats to take a break. Great creek crossing with your car at the exit. On the way out you drive past the Bison in the fields. All in All a great afternoon at the Zoo.

Decent Zoo but I guess we went on an off day because some about 6 or 7 animals were not in their habits. No wolves, otters, and a few others. Overall a good experience and the food is surprisingly good.

Beautiful zoo located in a nature preserve! Lots of animals to see from many different parts of the world! Park is extremely clean and the staff are super knowledgeable and friendly! Park layout is a perfect circle so there is no chance you will miss any exhibits! Paths are clearly marked and go one way which is great to keep the crowds moving! Definitely make this a stop if you are in the area!!!

Great place to spend the day besides visiting the zoo. There are the trails, scenic overlookand river to keep you busy. The zoo isn't really worth the admission but to keep it running it justifies it for me anyways as parking is free. There aren't many animals and some cages only has 1. Feel bad for the single ones. Zoo isn't that big can complete it in an hour with a leisure stroll. But the other outdoor activities make up for an entire day. Overall a great experience for the kids and those who love being in nature.

Most exhibits were open. Some activities require purchase of tokens. The zoo is laid out well, but on the smaller side. Naturally, the nocturnal animals were hidden away to sleep, which is expected. There's a little playground area for kids 5+. It's pretty good - not great, but pretty good. This was my second visit. Took about an hour to see everything.

I thought the place was really nice but slightly disorganized. Lunch was not expensive. Hotdogs were 2$ hamburger was 3.50 for comparison average side was 5$ food was way better than I expected and super filling. although the line was insane and the wait was as bad as it looks. Kudos to the staff working I saw them working crazy fast so it was no fault of their own. Animals were adorable prices over all are great and Id go again. The indoor exhibit was small and not great for kids and adults who are overstimulated. It gets very loud and crammed. There is a small playground perfect to get some energy out, would be great if at some point they add a 2 and under area or expand to include a touch and explore center with a few activities!

The Lehigh Valley Zoo was lovely, the staff was very friendly and you got the sense they took pride in what they did. The zoo itself is a bit small and a few of the exhibits were closed. That said, it's clean, beautiful, and some of the exhibits they do have are lovely. Overall it was a good experience

I had a fun visit with my family at the zoo! The workers were so nice and helpful! All of the animals looked very healthy and happy. The only thing I will mention that made us sad was when I saw the otter exhibit. The water looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in awhile unfortunately. 🥺 I also would have liked to have seen the otter have a buddy with them. The single otter was so friendly and seemed a little lonely. That is just my opinion. Overall, I had a great time and really enjoyed the zoo!

The zoo is very interesting. It is located about 20 min. from Allentown. During school year, you will find it busy with schools trip from different nearby districts. The parking lot is huge. Restrooms and food places are clean and available. It has limited selection and variation of animals, yet it is still good due to its relatively small size. On your way up to the zoo, you should not miss taking photos of the beautiful scenery. Also, the water stream is so beautiful. It is a good place if you are planning a kind of two-hour visit.

Loved the zoo and seeing all the kinds of animals. It was warm out so alot of them were napping but you could still see them. Loved being able to feed the giraffes! My kids loved it when we were leaving and had to drive through the shallow stream. We all loved seeing the Buffalo so close to the road while leaving. Definitely would go back and feed the giraffes again or another available animal.

The zoo was set up safely for Covid protection. It is cute and family oriented. A nice leisurely stroll was a great way to spend an afternoon on the sun and seeing the animals. Our kids were able to pet a goat too. They are setting up for their holiday event and things are looking festive!

This past November was my first time visiting the zoo for their light display and I absolutely loved it! My family and I all had a blast! Everything was beautiful! My daughter loved seeing some of her favorite characters such as Belle, the Beast, Frozen, Toy Story & the Minions! This is now my favorite Christmas attraction compared to the others I’ve been to and plan to attend every year and would love to even go back again this year!

Went to the zoo last week to see the Winter Light Spectacular and it was beautiful as always. Also enjoyed my taco from Geakers at the end of the night. I do think the price of $15 for non-members is a bit high as my sister mentioned it would cost her $100 to bring her whole family! She ended up missing out on one of the few family outings in 2020 because of the cost.

  • 5/5 Charli V. 3 years ago on Google
Not crowded, habitats are very natural appearing and not closed in glass walls. The otters are amazing to watch. Also when you drive in you drive through a nature preservation which is very cool and surreal. There is a creek that you drive your car through like a safari. It was worth the trip!

Always a great time at the Lehigh Valley Zoo. Whether it’s a spring / summer event or a fall / winter event, it’s always best to check early and plan ahead since it can get busy when you least expect!

It’s a nice quick place to take a stroll. Not a whole day event by any means. The holiday events can be neat but the whole place can be seen in under an hour.. this was 2 years ago... Now in COVID era.. they over crowded the zoo. Seriously what were you thinking... way too many people... the displays were cheesy ! Really why would you have a national lampoon Xmas vacation display; especially the one holding a sewer pipe. And let me rephrase the whole think in under and hour more like 30 minutes There should have been 1/2 the amount of people in the park everyone was practically on top of each other.. So disappointed.

Love this place, and the kids love it too. The place, animals, and lights are great but the people here make it excellent. We've renewed our membership most years. The lights every year out perform elsewhere, including the local drive through show. The open fire pits at the hot chocolate area with cartoons is the touch. The whole family loves sitting by the fire enjoying the scenes and drinks This year with all the disruption and inconsistencies, they've done a great job of balancing out all and being respectful.

This was our second year here , this year was different with Covid , it was nice to walk through without so many people , wish more of the animals would have been out, the two reindeer were to busy eating to be bothered letting us see them , the two outside vendors were nice handing out hand warmers , wish I wouldn’t have gone home smelling like smoke from the fires , some could have used some more wood as they just began to smoke and using pallets which are primarily pine sparks all over and almost burnt my little one. Otherwise it’s a nice little place

Such a wonderful place! We have visited twice, once in the summer and once during their Winter Light Spectacular. And boy was it so! While we didn't see any animals during the light show, it was magical and we really didn't notice! Such a sweet place, especially for kids!

  • 4/5 Samantha B. 3 years ago on Google
We really enjoyed our visit. I feel like it could use a little bit of a face-lift here and there in some of the habitats, but it was a nice trip. The giraffe feeding was fun. It was a kinda long line for our time slot but they're doing really well with the social distance in line, there was a woman standing there making sure people were not on top of each other (which I greatly appreciate) you wash your hands then get 3 pieces of romaine to give to them it was really cute. We like to go around Christmas time and see the lights that's wonderful! They do a really good job.

If you live in the city and have kids, an annual pass is worth it. My kids love coming here to visit the famous white alligator. They get a chance to explore the rain forest, oceans, and back for dinner in one day.

Awesome little zoo in the middle of a game preserve. Perfect for a family with young kids.

If you love nature, you'll love this place. Beautiful scenery, serene views. $14.50 for adult admission. We took a 2 year old & didn't bring a stroller, thank god they had wagon rentals for $5!! Such a nice clean zoo. The animals are well taken care of. So much to see & do. Very good food & reasononilby priced as well. The geakers taco line was very long, but it moved quickly & smoothly. The tacos are the size of a dinner plate, very good!! Lots of places to sit to eat & relax. Picnic areas on the road in & out. A beautiful look out point where you can see clear across the valley. GREAT family fun guarenteed!!!

I’ve gone here since I was a little girl (a VERY long time ago) and it was the Trexler Game Preserve. No matter how many times I go, I still enjoy walking through, seeing the animals close up, learning new and interesting things about them. And it’s not just family fun. My children are both grown, so this year my husband and I went, just the two of us. We had just as enjoyable a time as we did with the kids! One thing I do miss… When I was about 7, my family had gone and we were in the petting area. There was this llama that was very affectionate with me (even though I had no food). Ever since, I’ve adored llamas and have always had an odd way with them. They’ve never been anything but affectionate. I often wish the zoo would bring back llamas to a petting area. I do so miss that. Otherwise, it’s a great way to spend a nice sunny day!

I really didn't like this place. I saw to many animals by themselves. It's nice they have do much land for the herd of buffalo but inside needs more. They do have a bald eagle and a black swan though so that's kinda cool

We had such an amazing time feeding Tatu 🥰. I love this zoo, its local, the prices are very reasonable and all of the workers and volunteers are the absolute sweetest.

The zoo was great! The animals are the most beautiful thing ever, I definitely recommend this place! Make sure you buy snacks inside, they’re delicious

Had an amazing time at the zoo with my family. My kid had a great time participating in the Halloween festivities. The staff there are all so kind and polite, some even pretended to really be scared of my kid's costume. Also with tokens we were able to pick out some pumpkins that we took home to carve.

Only been a couple of times had good experiences but for some reason maybe when I go the animals are usually not out lol... And its small but good for a quick visit. The price is great and staff are amazing from my experience.

This is a small zoo and they have a few animals and so close to the neighbourhood for a quick stop for kids.. Do not expect to see a lot of Animals. The ticket rates are 14.50 and 13.50 for senior citizens and the wntry was free for my son who is one. Feeding animals cost extra. You can look at all the animals in an hour if you rush. With kids it ll not take more than 2 hours i suppose. It's well maintained and they have a decent food place as well. The access to the zoo is awesome; scenic! The Emus, Ostriches, Giraffes and Oryx are a must see. They have a snowy owl that's real pretty; reminded me of Hedwig. Quite a few animals were out or hiding in bushes/trees because of the heat (it was late June). The llama section was closed. For kids this is a quick and nice outing which also has quick bites to satiate the hunger after the walk. Without any high expectations, this place is a good time for kids and yhe adults too in seeing the kids enjoy.

I go here on a monthly basis with my father, because we enjoy it that much. We are on our 2nd or 3rd annual membership now. It's a nice place, and on the smaller side. The employees and volunteers are nice caring people who also do their best to educate guests about the animals, why the different species are important and different ways to help.

Has a few feeding times with specific animals during the day, we saw the penguins. Leaving you drive through the preserve and may see animals roaming.

The zoo was always my go-to when I was a child. It's now my son's go-to to see all the animals. They do get very crowded on the weekend, but if you choose your days right, you'll have the zoo to yourself. Even if you're not in the mood to see the animals, you can drive through the water, take a nature walk, or even check out the Buffalo up close and personal. It's a great place to visit, especially if you have young children looking to see animals.

I’ve gone on several trips to this zoo and it’s always a pleasant experience all around. Buying tickets is easy on their website and I love the new pins they have every year you can buy to support them. This most recent trip I accidentally ordered the wrong time to ender the zoo, but with one email to ticketing my entry time was updated the same day I bought them! Because of this, I would highly recommend ordering online. The drive in and out of the zoo is a huge bonus because you can see lots of wildlife like birds and deer, as well as the two exhibits on the way out. The river is a lovely stop to watch the water flow by too. As for in the zoo itself, the walk around the loop is very nice and there’s lots of places to stand or sit and watch the animals. My favorites are always the penguins and I got to see their feeding time! The otters are super cute too with a great arena to watch them and sit. There was construction on the new Madagascar experience, but it was super funny that they had an enclosure sign for the construction workers! It was a joy to just watch so many critters go about their business. A great use of my Friday off!!

Great local zoo that is definitely worth a day visit. Animal shows are very informative and great for kids to learn more about the animals they are seeing during the visit. Even when the zoo is undergoing upgrades there is still always creative and tries to be informative about the areas they are changing.

A perfect place for a quick, fun thing to do with the family. My favorite parts were the very talkative Raven and the wolves howling when a fire house siren was going off in the distance.

I used to have a membership here when my kids were younger but hadn't been here in a few years. We went last week for the winter lights event. The concessions were a bit steep, but you kind of expect that for an event like this. We were hoping some of the animal exhibits would be open still but aside from the two goats in the petting area, a sleeping emu, and some owls...no animals. There was a small musical show with "Elsa" from Frozen also. The lights were beautiful and the kids were happy, so no complaints aside from what I already said. We would come back for the lights again, but would be happier to do so if a bit of the actual zoo was functional.

I love this little zoo. It's never super crowded and they have interesting side programs and events year round. The new giraffe enclosure is a great addition. The petting zoo is fun for the little kids. I do wish there were more wildlife programs that were going on. Maybe some sort of live guides that could give information at the enclosures at different times. Of course expansion and adding even more exhibits would be great but I think they've maxed out their current land footprint within the Trexler preserve.

Unfortunately a lot of animals were hiding in cool areas because it was humid, but we still had a good time taking my Grandson who is 21mos old.

If the website's list of animals (many exotic, many domestic), options for unforgetable events, delicious food, & one-of-a-kind souvenirs don't convince you to see The LV Zoo in person... Perhaps the mention of a whimsical experience filled with: memories, obtainable knowledge, responsible observations, a good workout, and laughter will! Make your trip to The LV Zoo whenever, either: solo, with friends, or with the family! It's a place for anyone and everyone!

This is cute too. We did like it and can totally recommend it! It closes at 4pm, so that's really early, would be great if they were open longer!

We really enjoy the Lights at the Zoo. The zoo does a fantastic job and there are a lot of amenities there and fun photo props and spots. We are members and so also enjoy visiting the animals even though my kids are getting older. They also LOVE Geakers food stand! The zoo is a nice close and quick visit when looking for something to do but don't have a lot of time or don't want to travel far. The educational programs also are well worth the money.

👍👍 It is a bridge. This bridge is made of wood. This bridge is old. This bridge can hold at least one car. This is a bridge. It has a roof. Why am I rating a bridge? Why is this bridge an attraction on google maps? Why am I on Google maps rating a bridge of all things? This is a bridge.
