My
two
tamariki
(children)
and
I
visited
the
Wellington
Zoo
for
the
1st
time
over
the
weekend
and
we
thoroughly
enjoyed
ourselves.
A
highlight
for
us
was
seeing
the
Māori
atua
in
the
locals
section
as
seeing
these
pou
represented
as
they
are
with
a
description
beside
them
was
very
awe
inspiring.
It
was
really
cool
to
see
so
much
Te
reo
Māori
signs
and
how
it
has
been
incorporated
throughout
the
zoo.

We
stayed
for
the
whole
day.

enjoyed
building
a
fort
by
Tane
Mahuta,
listening
to
the
keepers
talking
about
the
animals
and
finding
more
about
them
and
getting
to
see
all
the
animals.
The
zoo
is
well
maintained
with
clean
facilities.
Staff
were
nice
and
the
ladies
in
the
reception
area
and
gift
shop
were
very
friendly
and
answered
all
the
questions
we
asked
with
passion
and
enthusiasm
which
was
awesome.
We
also
had
lunch
at
the
Cafe
just
outside
the
zoo
and
what
beautiful
meals
they
severed
by
polite
and
friendly
staff.
Overall
an
excellent
day
spent
at
the
zoo
due
to
the
attentive,
friendly
approach
of
staff
and
clean
facilities.
Thank
you
to
all
the
pukumahi
(hardworking)
staff
at
the
Wellington
Zoo
for
everything
that
you
do
