For a small state this Zoo was awesome. I absolutely loved how the animals were up close & were all out for everyone to see. This Zoo looks small from the outside but is really big. I love the feeling that they are all about the animals rather than profit. Make sure to take quarters cause you can buy pet food for the goats to eat which is so much fun for all ages.

I love the North Dakota Zoo, despite the broad variety of animals, its a place to visit if you'd like to learn more about wildlife. I am very excited to see what the new exhibits are going to bring. I will definitely be coming back.

We went on a weekday and it was pretty empty from customers. It was fantastic. From petting animals, feeding them, and just watching them interact was lots of fun. They have a great selection of animals you don't see in the south! I suggest go earlier when. It's cooler and the animals are much more active!

Fun, fun, fun! We’ve visited here for many years. It’s such a welcoming place. There is so much to do and see. It’s a refreshing change from the Texas zoo’s.

Zoo was great. Went on a Monday after the rain, had the place practically to ourselves. Price was reasonable.

Great family zoo. Has a fun train that you can ride and tour the whole zoo. It's a great way to see the whole area. They have a very wide range of animals. A kiddie park and really fun discovery area to go in and cool down on hot days. They also have fun family activities you can attend through out the year.

Visited from out of town and spent family time at the Dakota Zoo. I'm used to bigger zoos that are very crowded and the animals are 20 feet away. I was expecting to see animals I see at my home zoo; I was wrong. The variety and habitats of the animals is fun and interesting. The zoo was not crowded. My family could wander around at their own pace. The zoo is very well covered by trees which provide shade in many places. The paths are a bit run down, but fine for wheelchairs and strollers. We did not have a map of the zoo which made it confusing to me. My daughter knew her way around and there are info signs periodically to show the exhibit locations. I did not see many food stands that I'm used to in bigger zoos. I think everything is near the entrance. There is a petting zoo at the entrance as well.

love this place. visited on tuesday for the first time and lady at the front was very accommodating. there’s a huge variety of animals. even though i came on a weekday, it was somewhat crowded so that’s nice. there’s a cute gift shop by the front that’s surprisingly cheap from other places. if you want to go on a train ride on a weekday, i suggest coming after 4 pm because most of the drivers are high schoolers i believe? btw if you buy food for the farm animals, make sure you use a dispenser that’s somewhat full, if you don’t, there’s a good chance nothing will come out but it’s no big deal. will definitely come back!

Large variety of animals! Some of the enclosures are a little small but overall great fun. They have two trains to take around the facility. Reasonable pricing.

For a smaller zoo - this has a nice variety of animals well taken care of. Staff is awesome and the trains are wonderful when you want to take a break and learn a little additional information.

Excellent zoo fun for kids and adults-with tigers, giraffes, bears, monkeys, bison, lemurs, camel, alligator, tortoise, fox, wolf, alligator, llama, pigs, goat, dear, and many types of birds like eagle, emu, pheasant and swans.

Well kept surprisingly large zoo. The tram ride was good to get an idea of how to get back to animals you want to look at closer. New otter enclosure was very nice. Lots of birds and raptors.

Very nice zoo! It was much more expansive and had more animals than I expected. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and it was now crowded. Many of the animals were active and fun to watch. Would come again! Also a decent amount of shade :)

Large zoo but not the biggest variety of animals. Reasonably priced, and reciprocates annual passes with other ND zoos. $5 to go on the train, which is a good idea to help see all the offerings the zoo has.

The zoo is fairly well put together. There were a few animals that should have had better enclosures. Better signage placement for almost all the animals explaining what they are, do they have names, etc would also be nice. The goats were my favorite

Fun zoo with a good amount of stuff to look at. Staff was friendly. It was hot today, there are NO drinking fountains. They do sell 20oz bottles of water for 4 dollars, huge ripoff. They have all the spigots locked too.

This is a beautiful place to go. The walk around the facility is beautiful. The grizzlies are my favorite, along with the elk exhibit. There are penguins here, too. There's fun activities to do with the kids as well.

We get a family pass every year and it's totally worth it. Train rides and discounts in the gift shop along with unlimited trips to the zoo! We love the monkeys and the goats. Cool days are the best for seeing the most animal activity. Always look forward to the new animals and if course the babies in the spring!

Nice little zoo. They have a good number of animals, things are clean, food was good, parking is good, and the have 2 trains that take you around the park. My only complaint is the train went a little fast.

It was such fun to see American animals. I haven't been to to many Zoos that do that. (Of course that's not all they have). I recommend the train ride (make sure you grab your tickets!!!) for the wilderness area instead of walking it.

A large, mainly outdoor zoo (meaning, lots of walking). Most of the animals are indigenous to cold areas, but lots to see. It was nice to be outside, and the animals were active at midday.

Beautiful November weather so I took my kids to the zoo. Parking lot was full, but large enough zoo that inside wasn't too crowded. Good exhibits. Kids enjoyed it.

Place is very nice and well taken care of. This is a good zoo for a city of this size. This does not compare to St. Louis or San Diego though. The bathrooms were all dirty but the rest was kept up very well.

Had a great time with my daughter and granddaughter at the zoo today. Other guests were pleasant and the employees were really nice. I got a year yearly pass for my family, can come anytime.

We had a perfect day at the zoo. It wasn't too hot so the animals were quite active. It wasn't too busy, and it was very clean. They really have put a lot of effort into the landscaping. There were a lot of baby animals which was fun. We were all impressed that the animals looked very content, not stressed at all.

Everyone was super nice and shared a lot of cool info about the animals. Got a nice tour along with getting the chance to pet snakes! Only issue I would say I had was almost tripping a few times on the uneven paths. The rest of the park was very nice and was bigger than I thought it was gonna be with lots of cool animals! Thank you for the awesome visit!

Omgeee I loved it maybe because I don’t see animals like that in Florida but this zoo is amazing. We saw camels , bisons , donkeys , grizzly bears, wolfs and the list goes on . It was very spacious and no big crowds which was another plus. I love this zoo!!

Was able to rent a mobile scooter so I could feel human again. Able to get around after just having a difibulator put in. I didn't have to short my grandkids because I was able to get everywhere they wanted to go.

Had a great time here. The new otter exhibit is really fun. The otters are so cute. Also the penguin building is cool. There was a handler in there feeding them and she had a mic on so we could hear her and she told us all kinds of fun facts about the penguins. All the staff here seemed to enjoy what they do and were very friendly!

We loved Dakota Zoo ! It's a clean place, with so many animals to see. It's obvious that safety is a #1 priority. I plan to visit again.

I've gotta give this one ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for sure. Well-maintained, lots of exhibits, plenty of variety, many high-interest animals, all in a spacious, easy-to-navigate setting. Having visited once w/ our six young children/teens, we'd definitely have interest in going again. The African penguin exhibit is brand new and very nice. You need to check it out!

The penguins were our favorite attraction this time. Little Ambrose liked my daughter's sparkly dress. We can't wait for the new otter habitat. We do miss the mini doughnuts. That was always a tradition, to eat doughnuts while we ride the train. Also, hoping the gift shop gets some monkeys similar to what lives in the zoo. They are a must see and we would love to have a little plush as a memento. Buy the annual pass, once is never enough when it comes to The Dakota Zoo!

It was a cute zoo and had many surprisingly exotic animals. I liked that they had a train and you can rent out wheelchairs for seniors. It was much bigger than I initially anticipated and the animals looked well taken of.

Great place to spend an evening. There is a fairly broad variety of animals, meaning there is something for everyone. If your looking to just waste some time, or learn about wildlife, the zoo is a good place to start. They are expanding too, so new exhibits coming soon!
