Fascinating place which cannot be compared to any museum or other "arty" location. Go there when it's quiet. You enter a magical world of a self taught sculptor who created around 3000 heads in stone and some in tree trunks. Apparently he suffered some head injuries in a fight in the US (+ brain damage?) and upon return to Sciaccia lived a secluded life, creating his own world and refusing to sell any of his works.

The whole trip was worth just for the siccilian night we had here. A day to remember and tell our grandkids about!

I’ve given this place two stars because I did not find this place personally enchanting, I am not the biggest art fan, but I can usually make some sort of understanding & appreciation of most things, even the place admits they don’t know what the artists inspiration was or why he carved faces carved in stone & trees. The grounds are nice & very well kept, make sure you bring cash to pay as the card machine struggles with connection.

Great place to visit. Creepy but fascinating. It would be perfect, if someone could help tourists with the history of this amizing place.

Interesting surprising insight into the mind and work of Art Brut artist Bentivegna

Interesting collection of stoney heads crafted by one artist through many years. An example of an obsession.

Dont really understand all good comments. Maybe...if it was a free entrance, but not for 5 euro

An open air museum; one of a kind. Its incredible how the artist managed to carve out stone to create these faces and caves. It's not well sign posted or promoted either, however, we found it easily with google maps.

Really liked that the artist hasn’t cared about being not recognised and just done what he thought to be the right for the whole of his life!!!

Interesting life's work. Think the name is misleading as it is not a castle.

This was without a doubt one of the strangest yet "enchanting" things I have seen. The story behind it is just as interesting as you walk past faces cut into stone. Doesn't sound interesting? Don't be fooled and miss it.

DO NOT GO TO THE TEMPLE OF ENCHANTMENT!!! There’s nothing enchanting or even appealing or touristic about this place. To put it in another perspective, we paid just around 6 Eurs to see all of Selinunte, an amazing experience. This place cost us 5 eurs per person. A total rip-off! As there was nothing even close to art about the scrap we saw. Service was bad, it took forever for the guy to attend to us. Save your strength, time and cash and just go to Agrigento instead.

To see the the beauty of stones and the imagination Mr Bentivegna put into his outsider art put us in another place for the time while there. You forget about what's going on and take in the quietness and passion of his garden. Some might have made fun of his talent but he saw something that no person could model for.

A really nice place to visit... Interesting story of the creator and lots of stones to see (much more than initially expected. .. there may be over 1000 face stones in there). Not sure though it is fair to ask 5€/person... But not crazy expensive either... You decide...

👍 Pretty underappreciated place with small amounts of tourists! A very nice view from the castle walls! You can make great photos from there! 👍👍 Thanks to the Rotary Volunteers of Sciacca I was able to visit both the cave of San Calogero and the stoves. Great explanation on the history of the place The view of the coast is impressive It is worth taking a detour to visit it. UNFORTUNATELY the opening has a very (too) limited hours.

😐 L'acqua è molto bella e trasparente. Il Panorama circostante ha troppi palazzi e cemento e rovina l'atmosfera balneare. In acqua bisogna andare molto al largo per potersi immergere perché per i primi 100-200 metri l'acqua è molto bassa. Carino nel complesso.

👍 What to write .. we are in the Agrigento area and therefore we certainly cannot expect services or, even more utopian, minimal indications. We are immersed, as always, in total and unacceptable neglect. The only note, common to all our natural magnificence, is the self-preservation of almost uncont...
