Visited on 3/4/22. ₹50/person, ₹100 for camera charges. You can go with 2/4 wheelers inside, however a walking visit is preferred as the zoo is not too big, just a couple of kms at best. Tiger, Leopard, Himalayan black bear etc are major attractions. Anyway there is need of good maintenance. Renovation work is still going on.

One of the best place of Itanagar where you can spend some quality time with you friends and family. It is not far from the town you can get a Cab or Rickshaw to reach the Zoo. I had a great time there with my friend's. It is open for 6(six) days of the week from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. There is multiple shops from where you can buy some snacks and cold drinks. I recommend you to visit it once if you ever visit here at Itanagar. This is the only Zoo in the state with some rare and near to extinct animals of the state.

Although a good experience..felt that the botanical garden is very close to nature...indeed u can get a close look of the wildlife not so close but yet close to their natural habitat...a good place to gain knowledge and also if u want to get closer to the symphony of mother nature

This Zoo is not good compared to the other states. I visited this Zoo after 5years but not even a single change i have seen in this zoo.. Instead lots of animals are not there even elephants are not there. Chimpanzees, other types of monkeys, snakes(only 2 snakes are there). Don't know why they have not maintained the zoo even lots of visitor are there for zoo. It is in the center of Guwahati but no progress. I am really disappointed.

The Itanagar Zoological Park, also known as Itanagar Zoo, is a popular zoo located in Itanagar, the capital city of Arunachal Pradesh, India. It serves as a habitat for various wildlife species and is a place where visitors can learn about and observe these animals in a controlled environment. ○Location is accessible through Google map, or even through public. I would not be able to name all the animals . ○most of the visitors don't have idea about time, dos & don't and fee For the current update, know you can see python, tiger, deer, wild dog, vultures , turtle, Alligator , Raccoon, variety of monkey, owl, wild pig, bear, fox , leopard and etc. (Recommended!! best place to visit in ITANAGAR) If you have any specific questions about the Itanagar Zoo or need more information, feel free to ask!

Zoo is very big but I feel there's scope for more animals as there are still the area is vast. But the ambience and surrounding are simply awesome. You'll feel relaxed and fresh and enjoy the nature's beauty and quiet environment.

Giving it 4 star because of the reason 'SAFETY' yaa it's safe for matured or adult person but little bit unsafe for kids because the road are upwards as it's situated at Rock mountain, that's why you have take care of your kids because kids will find this place to play. and lastly do carry some bananas for the lovely monkeys 😂

On every vist some animals are disappearing from the zoo. It's really hard to believe that the authorities are failed to take care of those beautiful animals. Seen some new construction works are going on. Hope to see once again those beautiful animals in the state zoo. From my childhood this was almost my 15 visits to the state zoo.

Best for family outing though it has very less animals compare to other zoos but peaceful place with tall trees and soft & smooth grasses where you can sit and enjoy the lunch and shelters also provided you can use them during downpours and scorching heat. List of animals: Hollock Gibbons, monkeys, Gharial, Deer(spotted, sambar & Barking), himalayan black bear, common leopard, Tiger (Couldn’t spot😅), vulture, Capped langur, slow loris, turtles, macaw, dhole and some birds( which didn’t match the name in the board😅)

Located at a distance of around 5KM from the Ganga Market(Commercial Hub of Itanagar), the place offers a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of wild animals. It is suitable for people of all ages. Bengal Tiger, Jackal, Python, Clouded Leopard and Alligator are some faunas here. With some major upgradations such as accomodating new species like Giraffe, Hippopotamus,Ostrich and Rhino(the park has still a plenty of spaces), it could double the number of visitors!

good but zoo condition is not great and animal are living in very poor condition like cage is too small ...only monkey and deer have freedom to roam around zoo... leopard and other carnivorous are living in very tight space . The person who is incharge of zoo ticket counter are lazy and very rude and lack of information about how to book online ticket with no offline booking ..🥲 i spend ₹ 118 for 4 people which is not worth the price of what we get to see 🙄

Nice place to visit. Giraffe, reptiles, turtle good attractions and deer 🦌 roaming freely in open too is a treat to watch. Post corona, now tickets are being done online. So better bring a mobile to book ticket yourself. Ticket cost 33 Rs (30 Rs ticket + 3 Rs online commision) However for those, who cant book ticket themselves, some people are selling tickets at 50 Rs / ticket, you may contact them

Variety of wild animals present here although not in their best conditions. Many animals were starving by the looks of it. Zoo authorities must take a note and care for them better. Although some snakes were missing from the display. For watching animals in their wild habitat, specially deers, you should visit.

  • 4/5 Kenny M. 6 months ago on Google
The zoo commenced even before stepping inside the gates; could spot fishes and crabs in the nearby drain. The Royal bengal tigers and freshwater gharials which were transported from Odisha were a treat to the eyes. Hoolock gibbon was fun to watch too. Watching every animal was a learning experience in itself and you should visit the biological park too. The infrastructure is great and the management is taking a step further in the area of cleanliness. However, it truly depends on the luck to spot a majority of animals on a given day. So if you're lucky you may spot them all. There are a variety of animals, birds and fishes there. Do visit and enjoy the place. Remember that the animals are alive too, so watch and enjoy responsibly. As I recall, some group of young men were teasing a leopard cat and asserting their dumb masculinity. Truly I say, the animals are there for the whole public and for recreational means in a busy city life; it's not a private circus. So let's keep our tribal hooliganism aside and let our eyes do the talking.

  • 1/5 Tanuel N. 5 months ago on Google • 2 reviews
The greenery inside the zoo area is great as it gives you the touch of nature. However, the animals are in a very bad condition. Some are even on the verge of dying. They are scared and try to run away out of the cages when people jeer at them in tons. And what the hell is wrong with all the schools brining kids without controlling them? They cause ruckus here and there in groups while scaring the animals! Don't bring them unless you monitor them well!!! P.s. There is a bear in the zoo whom people refer to as the dancing bear because of his repetitive actions. However I am pretty sure he is in need of medical aid. Plus he seems like he hurt his eyes. IF U R KEEPING ANIMALS, ATLEAST MAKE THEM COMFORTABLE THERE!

All the staff were really good, but the zoo needs lots of improvement. Govt. should pay attention to these structures.
