Poonilarkkavu DEVI Temple is an ancient temple located in Kodakara, Trichur District, Kerala on the west side of NH 544 (connecting Salem city in Tamil Nadu to the city of Kochi in Kerala). This temple is famous for SHASHTI celebration in which KAVADIYATTAM, a colorful event that is very prevalent in Subrahmannya Swamy Temples, is one of the many unique attractions, though this is a DEVI temple.

Thrikarthika and shashti are the main festivals celebrated in this temple.Even though shashti is celebrated in kunnathrakovil temple due to lack of space there it's celebrated here . Every year lots of people come to watch kodakara Shashti. Its one of the biggest event in Thrissur.
