Nandan Van Zoo and Safari is the largest man-made Jungle Safari of Asia. It has many forms of life to be explored in Gypsy.

The zoo cum safari is 20 mins distance from Raipur. The zoo and safari has separate tickets and safari tickets can be booked online. The zoo costs Rs. 100 per adult and the safari is about Rs 150 per adult. Timings are from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm. No tickets for Kids below 12 years. The zoo had white tiger, Bengal Tiger, Lion, Leopard, Hippo, Wolf, Hyena Turtle, deers and blue and black buck. The safari had 1 wild ear, a lion and a tiger. Time taken to zoo is about 1 hour and same time for safari. Eatings items are not allowed inside. There's a canteen outside the zoo and safari gate. It's advisable to book safari tickets online and purchase eating items from inside shop and consume the same before entering into zoo. Weekly off is on Mondays. Mobile cameras are allowed without any expense.

The zoo & safari are two different experiences available. Tickets are costed at 50 INR per head & kids tickets are not charged for. Canteen facility, clean & cold water facility available. Safari is worth every penny & lasts for an hr. Bear, Tiger, Dear, Lion are the various safaris included in one safari. Caged vehicles are there to pick & drop the visitors. Zoo is spread across 2-3 kms & is well maintained. Overall worth a visit.

Place was actually good but the animals have been now shifted to Jungle Safari Zoo, Naya Raipur. There are only birds now and most of the are foreign birds. For kids it has become a good place to play.

The Jungle Safari, located at sector-39, Naya Raipur. Naya Raipur is about 35km from Raipur Railway Station and 15km from the Swami Vivekanand Airport, Raipur. The whole area of safari is covered by chain link fence of the height of 5 m. and 1.5 m. and inverted at the top at 60 degree The entire 800 Acre area of the Nandanvan Jungle Safari is lush green, with beautiful landscapes. Several indigenous plant species also add up to the vegetation, creating a natural habitat for the animals. It has 130 Acre of water body named ‘Khandwa Reservoir’ which attracts many migratory bird species. Four safaris namely, herbivore, Bear, tiger & Lion Safari has been established. Another 32 species of animal will be exhibited in the upcoming zoo. There will be drive through enclosure in which entry and exit will be through a system of double gates and the visitor vehicle will move on the designated road inside the safari at low speed.The area is having adequate vegetation, shelter and water bodies. Green belt has been created all along safari and service road and 55000 saplings were planted inside the safari for habitat improvement. SAFARI In safari area, four safaris have been created so far; -Herbivore Safari – Area 30 ha. -Bear Safari – Area 20 ha. -Tiger Safari – Area 20 ha. -Lion Safari – Area 20 ha.

Beautiful zoo and aviary. The aviary contains a lot of exotic and beautiful foreign birds. Very well maintained and clean. Facilities also look great as per metro cities standards even.

In Nandanvan zoo only birds are there, all the animals here have been shifted to Jungle Safari Naya Raipur. zoo is need to maintain properly , ok ok place for visit. ..

The original zoo has been shifted to new raipur 50 km away from this zoo. Here only birds are kept, no other animal. And now this place has very less connectivity from raipur city.

One of calm places to see birds & for Kids to play on slides... best place during week days... just be careful not to carry any food into the zoo... also i hope the place will be maintained well & birds are cared for..

One of the best zoo of Raipur, Chhattisgarh loved this place a lot by heart. ❤💕 This is the place filled with natural beauty and a lot of innocent and kind natured animals 🐵🐔🐶🐷 really awesome place existing in nature. There are no words to express the beauty of this place. If someone has not visited this place means he or she have not visited any place. There are lot of 🦁lion's 🐯tiger and snake🐍 and a lot many animals. Please visit this place once.

The park was small yet good. There are only birds in the zoo. There is safari too, yet I didn't go for that.

Just good place not so good or best in the picnic spot for children's and families but not so more thing to view. If you wants to view some wild animals in this place you have feel bad. Because this site is the fewest animal and the zoo is not big. But good for gardens.

All the main animals are transferred to Jungle Safari new Raipur... But it is still a good place for hangout and photography for family and friends.

Better place to visit than Jungle Safari. I love this place. I've many memories with this place. It is very sad that very few animals are kept here. The govt shoult take a initiative action to make it alive in between the people. It's now only for the small picnic or for kids play. Atleast the govt should make this place interesting like the Bada Talab and make it more interseting.

Place was nice to hang out with friends for young people but there was nothing interesting for kids. They have only few birds rather than that the whole place was empty.

A very Peaceful Place just outside of the raipur. Just beware that there are very less transport from there to main city. A well Maintained zoo which include lion, tiger, 2 caged Bird sections in which we can enter, other animals like any other zoo. Nice place to spend your evening with your family and children.

The place used to be a zoo, but now it is a bird sanctuary. Its name is Pakshi Vihar, which means "bird park" in Hindi. However, you will not see any other animals here, only birds. The place is surrounded by a liquor factory, which emits a foul smell. The air is polluted and suffocating. I could hardly breathe when I was there. The place is also poorly maintained. The cages are dirty and rusty, the paths are overgrown with weeds, and the signs are faded and broken. I did not enjoy my visit at all. It was a very disappointing experience.

its green,quiet peaceful reserve with many wild beasts and colourful birds. good for children. easy access from main road. entrance is well designed. attractive structures to click .

If you're new in this overal 20-30kms area please don't visit this place, here's only birds waste of time, "by the way best for couples" one of the best place you can visit Maitris garden bhilai.

When I visited there is no any big animal only birds

Only Birds are there. All animals are shifted to New raipur jungle safari. its quite & clean place and boating is available. its very good place for kids. and if you are bird lover then you should go there.

There are only birds in Nandanvan Zoo. When we inquired while buying tickets at the ticket counter, we came to know that all the animals here have been shifted to Jungle Safari Naya Raipur. However, many types of colorful birds will be seen here. Two deer were present which were in poor condition. If you are animal bird lover then you should not visit such places.

Quiet and secluded place away from the city. The mind becomes calm after seeing the birds and flowers here. Earlier there were many animals here but now almost all the animals have shifted to Jungle Safari Naya Raipur. Now here is just a bird sanctuary.

All animals are shifted. Only some birds like ostrich, emu, parrots, peakock etc. Childrens playing items are there though its old. Boating are abandoned, unattended and untidy. Average place for children. The way to zoo is solitary. I recommend adults on the way to zoo. Some nature photographic places.

It's the best place,if you want to get out from the hustle and bustle of city area. Lots of nice birds and calm aura. Go on off days and around 4:30 to have less people around

Animals were shifted to Nandan Van, jungle safari during the pandemic situation.Now only Bird section is there for watching.U can enter only after Antigen test which is free of cost, near the entrance itself.Play area and garden are functional along with boating.
