Our
party
of
5
included
3
Irish
and
2
Keralites,
and
in
our
14
day
stay
of
Kerala,
this
was
undoubtedly
the
worst
hotel/resort
that
we
stayed
in,
due
to
the
treatment,
actions
and
behaviour
of
all
the
staff,
as
well
as
the
poor
quality
and
lack
of
resources
that
the
hotel
had
to
offer.
On
arrival
at
this
hotel
the
staff
were
very
forceful
in
telling
us
that
we
had
to
have
food
"now"
as
meal
time
was
nearly
over.
We
insisted
that
we
were
ok,
we
wanted
to
check-in
and
even
if
we
missed
the
meal
we
said
we
would
be
ok
and
eat
elsewhere.
Again,
the
staff
persisted
and
eventually
just
to
please
them
we
agreed,
saying
that
we
would
like
to
see
the
rooms
first.
After
seeing
the
rooms
initially,
we
were
underwhelmed
by
the
lack
of
cleanliness.
We
reviewed
the
menu
that
was
provided
in
the
room,
and
all
we
wanted
was
some
toasted
sandwiches,
which
was
listed
on
the
menu.
When
we
came
out
of
the
rooms,
we
requested
what
we
had
seen
on
the
menu.
However,
we
were
told
that
this
was
not
available.
In
fact,
nothing
else
from
the
menu
was
available
other
than
"sadhya",
the
traditional
indian
dish.
We
pleaded,
stating
that
all
we
wanted
was
something
light,
and
it
was
not
fair
to
not
offer
any
other
alternatives.
To
this,
the
restaurant
staff
stated
"This
food
is
ok
for
the
arabs,
so
why
isn't
it
ok
for
you?".
We
were
shocked
at
this
racist
remark,
and
could
not
believe
the
lack
of
customer
service
and
compassion
that
was
shown.
Ultimately,
the
sadhya
was
cold,
not
fresh
and
it
was
the
worst
meal
that
we
all
had
had
since
arriving
in
India.
We
attempted
to
eat
some
as
we
were
all
hungry,
however
we
ate
it
with
reluctance.
Soon
after
this,
having
packed
our
bags,
receiving
a
complimentary
foot
massage,
and
after
visiting
the
waterfall,
we
proceeded
to
approach
the
reception
and
inform
the
staff
that
we
were
checking
out.
The
staff
were
ultimately
in
shock,
and
asked
why
we
were
leaving.
As
they
were
junior
staff
on,
they
contacted
the
manager/owner
via
phone
who
spoke
to
us,
and
asked
if
there
was
anything
to
do
to
change
our
mind.
In
this
phone
conversation,
the
manager
made
derogatory
comments
towards
his
own
staff,
stating
that
"the
staff
who
are
working
were
from
a
local
tribe,
and
are
not
very
smart
or
educated"
and
tried
to
use
this
as
an
excuse
for
the
racist
remark
that
was
used.
We
could
not
believe
that
the
manager
would
speak
about
his
own
staff
in
such
a
disparaging
way,
and
this
was
further
re-inforcement
that
we
did
not
want
to
stay
in
this
resort.
After
this
conversation,
we
left
this
resort
and
proceeded
to
another
beautiful
hotel
in
Kochi
which
looked
after
us
very
well.
Overall,
I
am
writing
this
review
to
ensure
that
nobody
else
has
an
experience
like
we
did
in
this
very
poor
resort.
This
resort
has
very
little
to
offer
other
than
a
nice
view
of
the
waterfall.
This
hotel
ranks
very
poorly
in
terms
of
cleanliness,
and
even
the
area
around
the
resort
clearly
had
not
been
cleaned
in
some
time.
The
restaurant
service
was
poor
-
which
offered
no
other
options,
even
for
individuals
with
specific
dietary
requirements.
The
policy
seemed
to
be
-
eat
what
we
make,
or
don't
eat
at
all.
And
-
the
food
that
they
did
offer
was
cold
and
lacked
taste.
The
hotel
staff
lacked
basic
hospitality,
and
this
was
clearly
demonstrated
by
their
racist
comment
about
the
arab
individual,
which
was
unbeknownst
to
him.
This
lack
of
hospitality
was
also
emulated
in
the
actions
of
the
manager/owner
who
we
spoke
to,
who
insulted
his
own
staff
in
the
hope
of
changing
our
mind.
This
resort
also
has
not
contacted
us
still,
almost
1
month
later,
regarding
compensation
for
not
staying
in
this
Finally,
this
resort,
for
all
these
poor
quality
services,
charge
the
extortianate
price
of
greater
than
₹18000,
which
is
absolutely
scandalous
for
what
is
on
offer.
My
advice
to
others
who
may
be
thinking
of
staying
in
this
resort
-
don't.
I
am
sure
that
there
are
plenty
of
other
good
quality
hotels
in
Athirappilly
that
deserve
your
business,
but
this
one
certainly
does
not.
