We had a terrible experience with them, first of all, they served very poor food, no quality no quantity. If you want to see the view of the waterfall just go to their lobby and watch the view and get back. Do not reserve one of their rooms completely squandered. Stay away from this useless hotel. I would never recommend no one. The only selling point is the view of Athirappilly falls. There's nothing fancy about this place. Waste of money…… don’t go.

The service was very bad especially from cafe. They behaved extremely bad as i was in an ordinary dress and they thought i was a local person. I payed about 16k and if this is not a way in which a good cafe hospitality should be, hope u guys change this as u have a good ambiance and a good vibe there.

“Absolutely stunning view of the Athiripally waterfalls! We wished we stayed here longer during our trip. The staff was super attentive and the food was excellent! Everything exceeded our expectations, would absolutely stay here again!” atmospheric swimming pool; lovely afternoon tea; bicycles to borrow as well as some books, a chess board and TV (projector) facility. The room was nice with a great view obviously. Sounds of waterfall and view - Loved it.

My cousins and I stayed at this place for the New Year's for two nights. Two of my cousins were on a vacation from the US. We were so excited about the place as it has one the best view of the waterfall. As expected, the view was spectacular. The expectations changed once we got into our rooms. Foremost, the wifi was not working at all. The lights inside the room kept twitching. The air conditioner inside the room kept going off, we had to turn it on multiple times. There were not enough plugins to charge our devices (there was two under the work table which was far away from the bed). Secondly, the food was not upto the mark. The price charged for that was exuberant. The resort had a set menu and you don't have any options to choose which means you have to eat whatever they give whether you like or not. For the breakfast, we got served puttu and kadala curry on day 1 and on day 2, we got Idly. I personally don't like Kerala style Idly and Sambar. So I just had the over-toasted slices of bread which they gave alongside. For the lunch, the only option is to have Kerala meals (Sadhya). However, they managed to get us biryani for the next day. The dinner for the New Year's Eve was pathetic. The soup which they got had no salt. The prawn was stale and rubbery. The buffet spread had less than 5 dishes. There wasn't any event for the night, not even a bonfire setup, the only expected part was the dinner which could have been made much better. The funny part is the resort charged extra for the night as well. The dinner on the next day had a fish curry, a chicken curry and a paneer curry along with chapatis, no other option. Thirdly, during check out, they didn't give a proper list out of the balance which had to be paid. They just showed a handwritten chit. There was a difference of Rs. 8500, when asked for it they didn't have much clarity of the difference and the receptionist called another person for the clarification. Rs 8500 was for the dinner on the New Year's night which was not informed beforehand. After the payment when asked for the receipt, the receptionist said it would be sent through an email. But we have not received it till date. When called the property asking for it, they said they would only provide it during the next billing cycle (clearly shows they are pocketing GST). The only good part about the place is the view and the service. On the whole, the resort was not worth for the money we paid. The final thoughts in our minds after the stay was, we could have stayed somewhere else with much better food and overall experience at a cheaper rate. Rs. 27,000 for a night for a room is not worth just for the view of the waterfall (such a SCAM!) .

I booked the Tree House for a guest. It is their most expensive room costing upward of 20k and boasts of the best view. Best view it is, but the room had rats. You would think that a room that costly would be safe from rodents. The furry guy literally took their milk powder satchet. That's not even the worst part. The mangaer Gokul has an attitude that can be best described as cocky. He changed the guest room (essentially a downgrade if you think about the difference in tarrif) and behaved as if it was a favor. He categorically denied that there were any rats and opined that they should be charging us for the room change. He made it an issue about the humidity and that the guests wanted AC. ( tree house doesn't have AC and it was explained before). Avoid. You don't want to be told that you imagined a rat in your room after paying 20k+. I understand that it is a forest area. But either don't charge that kind of money or give an experience that not inclusive of rodents. And for God's sake, don't imply that your guests are lying or hallucinating.

We went to this place when visiting the waterfalls. It's located just before entering the gate for the athirapally waterfalls. We entered around 3.15pm and the lunch section was closed at the restaurant and the high tea does not begin till 430pm. There is apparently a whooping 1000rs cover charge per person for just entering the restaurant even if you wanted just tea or coffee. What I find really surprising is that these prices are not even charged in top 5 star resturants anywhere in the country. I understand that they have an amazing view of the waterfalls and place wants to serve upscale customers. But a 1000 rs cover charge is just absurd. The view is worth the expensive prices but go only if you understand this cover fee or go during lunch hours.

I had a truly serene experience at Ayurveda Cafe in Rainforest Resort. The breathtaking view of Athirapilly waterfalls was absolutely mesmerizing, making it worth every moment. Although we arrived at 3PM and missed out on tea or coffee due to timing, the anticipation for the food was well rewarded by the stunning scenery. The cover charge of 1000 per person was a bit unexpected, but the tranquil ambiance and remarkable view made it a worthwhile investment. Looking forward to returning and trying their food next time!

One of the most elegant, exclusive and calm resorts I have ever been to. They provide excellent hospitality and have superb staffs. And their highlight is the view. You could get one of the most beautiful views of Athirapally waterfalls from here. I think this is the best you you could get of the falls. Atleast once you have to visit this place.

I would give 5 stars for the location, 4 stars for the cost value proposition and 4 stars for room and services. This is one of the best resort where you can get a breathtaking view of Athirappally waterfalls. The rooms are spacious and rated around 17k in Feb 2022. We had a nice time there and the food options are mostly keralite. The swimming pool is really nice and overlooking the falls gives a great experience. Ayurvedic spa demonstration and free massage was there. Then we took a paid one as well based on the nice relaxing experience. They also had a tree house with a good view. We went for a nature trek to Athirappally falls downstream. Overall great time spent here and is one of the memorable resort experiences.

The location is excellent. This is the nearest resort from athirapally waterfalls. You can easily watch them from your room side or from every corner of the Resort. The food was very Healthy and tasty too. In afternoon they serve a Kerala traditional thali in 🍌banana leaves 🍃. They give hightea in the evening with snacks. They have rooms and tree house 🏡 which is very well maintained. The rooms are very spacious and with balcony from where you can see the beautiful waterfalls. They provide visit to the athirapally waterfalls with guide from 4 pm to 5:30 pm. The swimming pool is very well maintainted and front to the waterfalls. Tou can take beautiful pics 📸 here. They give us complementary foot message fro appro. 20 minutes. Which was very relaxing.

Best location, one can get the best view of the majestic waterfall from rooms as well as open area, dinning space ..... it's awesome. Overpriced. Rooms are spacious but food and Services are not worthy the exorbitant tariff they demand. The only USP of the hotel is the location and view.

"My wife and I recently stayed at the Rainforest Resort in Athirappilly, Kerala. The resort is located right next to the Athirappilly Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India. Our room had a balcony with a stunning view of the falls, which was absolutely breathtaking. The service at the resort was excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom had a Jacuzzi tub with a view of the falls. The food at the resort was also excellent. We had a variety of dishes, all of which were delicious. The resort also has a spa, which we visited for a couples massage. The massage was amazing, and it really helped to relax us after a long day of exploring. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the Rainforest Resort. It is the perfect place for couples looking for a luxurious and relaxing getaway. I would highly recommend it to anyone." Here are some specific details about the hotel that I would mention in my review: The location is amazing, right next to the waterfall. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a balcony or terrace that offers stunning views of the waterfall. The service is excellent, with friendly and attentive staff. The food is delicious, with a variety of dishes to choose from. The spa is amazing, with a variety of treatments to choose from. The resort is quiet and peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I would also mention that the resort is best suited for couples looking for a luxurious and romantic getaway. It is not the cheapest option, but it is definitely worth the price for the experience. Only thing is people who are afraid of monkeys or lizards should stay out of here

Our party of 5 included 3 Irish and 2 Keralites, and in our 14 day stay of Kerala, this was undoubtedly the worst hotel/resort that we stayed in, due to the treatment, actions and behaviour of all the staff, as well as the poor quality and lack of resources that the hotel had to offer. On arrival at this hotel the staff were very forceful in telling us that we had to have food "now" as meal time was nearly over. We insisted that we were ok, we wanted to check-in and even if we missed the meal we said we would be ok and eat elsewhere. Again, the staff persisted and eventually just to please them we agreed, saying that we would like to see the rooms first. After seeing the rooms initially, we were underwhelmed by the lack of cleanliness. We reviewed the menu that was provided in the room, and all we wanted was some toasted sandwiches, which was listed on the menu. When we came out of the rooms, we requested what we had seen on the menu. However, we were told that this was not available. In fact, nothing else from the menu was available other than "sadhya", the traditional indian dish. We pleaded, stating that all we wanted was something light, and it was not fair to not offer any other alternatives. To this, the restaurant staff stated "This food is ok for the arabs, so why isn't it ok for you?". We were shocked at this racist remark, and could not believe the lack of customer service and compassion that was shown. Ultimately, the sadhya was cold, not fresh and it was the worst meal that we all had had since arriving in India. We attempted to eat some as we were all hungry, however we ate it with reluctance. Soon after this, having packed our bags, receiving a complimentary foot massage, and after visiting the waterfall, we proceeded to approach the reception and inform the staff that we were checking out. The staff were ultimately in shock, and asked why we were leaving. As they were junior staff on, they contacted the manager/owner via phone who spoke to us, and asked if there was anything to do to change our mind. In this phone conversation, the manager made derogatory comments towards his own staff, stating that "the staff who are working were from a local tribe, and are not very smart or educated" and tried to use this as an excuse for the racist remark that was used. We could not believe that the manager would speak about his own staff in such a disparaging way, and this was further re-inforcement that we did not want to stay in this resort. After this conversation, we left this resort and proceeded to another beautiful hotel in Kochi which looked after us very well. Overall, I am writing this review to ensure that nobody else has an experience like we did in this very poor resort. This resort has very little to offer other than a nice view of the waterfall. This hotel ranks very poorly in terms of cleanliness, and even the area around the resort clearly had not been cleaned in some time. The restaurant service was poor - which offered no other options, even for individuals with specific dietary requirements. The policy seemed to be - eat what we make, or don't eat at all. And - the food that they did offer was cold and lacked taste. The hotel staff lacked basic hospitality, and this was clearly demonstrated by their racist comment about the arab individual, which was unbeknownst to him. This lack of hospitality was also emulated in the actions of the manager/owner who we spoke to, who insulted his own staff in the hope of changing our mind. This resort also has not contacted us still, almost 1 month later, regarding compensation for not staying in this Finally, this resort, for all these poor quality services, charge the extortianate price of greater than ₹18000, which is absolutely scandalous for what is on offer. My advice to others who may be thinking of staying in this resort - don't. I am sure that there are plenty of other good quality hotels in Athirappilly that deserve your business, but this one certainly does not.

Unpleasant stay due to staff behaviour. We were given check-in TWO hours late just because the previous guests didn't vacate on time. The manager bluntly refused to compensate in any way for keeping us waiting after a long tiring road journey. Food is average, the head chef is also a rude person. Room service is always delayed or won't show up unless you call them twice. It's an expensive stay and an unworthy one. 5 stars for the waterfall view though.

We are one of the most leading Taxi operators in Cochin. Our company Name is “My Kerala Holidays” .This hotel gives more priority to our customers. They provide good service. Another attraction is that the water falls view can be seen from the hotel, definitely a place to go!

Too much expensive for a normal hotel GST percentage in billing are so wrong... Taste vice average view and ambiance are okay. But people will rush into it. Service and attitude towards customer is good. Even in the rush time they behave fine...

Apart from the falls view, nothing is special. Not worth for the cost. Can be little cheaper. Lunch and dinner were good traditional kerala foods. Breakfast need to be of more variety. Staff were good. Complimentary foot massage and paid body massage were too good. Guided trekking to falls bottom was good

This resort is gives an authentic kerala experience. The menu is so healthy and this has very few cozy rooms, each facing the waterfalls. It is unbelievable to find such a mesmerizing place. Best in monsoon.

Experience the Best View of Athirapally Falls! And earthy resort their main selling point is the stunning view of the Athirapally Falls. But their service and hospitality was even better. This is not your usual hotel so don't expect the usual sevices, they don't seem to have a full fledged restaurant rather they offer a set menu for their guests. Enjoy the place as it is :) The resort is easily missable and I actually drove past it towards the actual falls. I took a u turn and the name sign was visible only at this angle. The parking is ok but was for some reason littered. By the time I parked my vehicle Gokul from the reception walked up to us and identified me by my name. Points to hospitality, they know which guests are arriving and are ready to recieve them They have 4 types of rooms that I know of luxury, premium, celestial and tree house. The tree house is not suited for kids under 10. The premium room has a Jacuzzi with the view of the falls. All their rooms have a balcony that has the view of the falls. They have an infinity pool that also has the falls view. We got two complimentary foot massages with our rooms. We also had food from the premises all three meals. It isnt an à la carte menu but a set menu that is common for all. Food was good and the way you are recieved and served the food was also great. There is a bit of a monkey problem in the premises which we were warned of before hand so avoid having food in your balcony and keep them closed when you aren't around. The jacuzzi takes quite sometime to fill up and if you wish to fill it up with hot water then it would take quite sometime and your water may become cold by the time it fills up Great place to stay!

What to say about this place! I went there with my husband and I wasn't expecting much but the near dangerous trek down and the heavy rains made it all up to the view I saw once I reached down. Both of us were drenched and exhausted because of the heavy rains but gosh this has to be one of the most beautiful places I've ever been too. Must go and please wear good shoes for the way down

Pros: 1. The location is spectacular. Mind blowing view from the room and it felt so peaceful in the morning waking up to such a beautiful view 2. Service was excellent. There was a complimentary foot massage which was very relaxing and went for a paid massage later which was also done good 3. Food was decent, not much options but whatever was served tasted great Cons: 1. Lot of large flies, moths, lizards gets attracted to the light at night which was very annoying and I had to switch off all the lights and go to sleep forcefully cause of this 2. Lot of power fluctuations, unreliable wifi and no network at the location. Staff told us that the power fluctuations were very common and wifi won’t get connected properly cause of service issues. I personally felt that these issues should have been communicated prior 3. Lot of monkeys which will not allow to open the balcony doors peacefully since they jump into the room to steal the food. Got annoyed of this since I was not able to even enjoy coffee in the balcony cause as soon as I had something in hand they come out of nowhere Overall, it’s a once in lifetime experience and one should visit for the spectacular view and amazing experience here

Amazing location, you can see the waterfall from every room and hear it all the time.. A unique charm about the place which gives a feeling of being close to nature at all times.. The staff is amazing and very helpful.the food that they provide as set menu is a must

The falls are so awesome but the entry ticket is 50rs per person, parking is outside the falls entry. Monkeys are more in the falls be aware of them, water snacks ice creams are available inside the walk way to the falls but each snack is 10 to 20 rs extra and if you bring a plastic bottle from inside in the exit gate the security will give you 10rs for bottle but water bottle cost is 25rs 🤣. Coming to falls we need to get down for 200+ steps and u will get the falls but no access to the falls. Ropes are tied and allowed only photoshoots. Over all you will become tired after climbing back.

I recently stayed here that exceeded all expectations. The breathtaking view of waterfalls from both the bedroom and bathroom was truly enchanting. Waking up to the sound of cascading water and the sight of nature's beauty was an unforgettable experience. The highlight was the jacuzzi, offering a perfect way to unwind while enjoying the mesmerizing surroundings. Lunch was a culinary delight with specially crafted dishes, and the authentic Kerala sadhya provided a wide variety of flavors, showcasing the rich local cuisine. The foot reflexology service offered by the resort was a soothing treat, especially appreciated after a long trek to the waterfalls. The attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction truly made this resort an exceptional destination. The overall stay was a sensory treat, combining luxurious comfort with the spellbinding beauty of the scenic surroundings. Highly recommended for those seeking a tranquil and indulgent escape.

This is a small resort. The location overlooks Athirappilly Waterfalls. What is amazing is that every room has a view of the falls. The resort has their own resident Sambar deer loitering around the area. The food is good. They staff are very keen to make your stay most comfortable. Will definitely go back here again.

I can't express in words about this place. After travelling all the long night, we reached to this place in the morning & I really forgot all my travel fatigue & stress within first sight. The place is really unbelievable & highly peaceful. Our room has the beautiful view of valley & waterfall. The whole resort is surrounded by beautiful nature. So many birds, monkeys (friendly though haha..) are regular residents here. Wild deer, elephents, giant squirrels can be spotted here sometimes. The staff of this resort is too friendly & polite. From the warm welcome to room service, the service was prompt & soothing. We got a real authentic & traditional keralian food over here of which the taste is still on my mouth. We really felt not to leave the place on our departure date. We would really love to visit again soon with more days of stay.

One of THE best resort me and my family have stayed. The view is MAGNIFICENT. The service by the staff was top notch under the leadership of Jeethu. We thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality , the minute details the staff kept in mind including the food allergies and also being flexible and changing the menu to meet my family's requirement was really commendable. Dr Sooraj, Reshma, Akhil, Rajesh, Chef Jeesu , the therapists really made our stay memorable. Worth every bang for the buck spent.Would love to be back soon...

1.The place with all rooms overlooking the waterfalls 2. The staff is so courteous and well mannered that they literally make you feel special. 3. The breakfast, lunch and dinner are simply amazing and they ensure that every meal is a balanced meal. 4. Where else can you find mountain squirrels. Sambhar stags and of course monkeys coming in to pay a visit at the verenda?

Awesome view of waterfalls. Food is not good. Veg food options none. You will sleep empty stomach bcz of their menu choices and price. i stayed in room with jacoozie and it doesn’t get enough hot water and just waste of money. Waterfalls make you happy But other aspects of hotel is totally lets you down. Looking at prices they charge i will not recommend this to anyone

Undoubtedly the hotel has fantastic views. The problem is if your stay is not during the rainy season. Not worth the expensive rate. I was looking forward to open the curtains in the morning and enjoy the waterfall view, but unfortunately no water (there is a dam which closes from 10pm to 10am). Swimming pool area dirty, no sunbed mat. Apart from that friendly staff.

Do come to rainforest to enjoy nature. Enjoy the aura of the place. Do not stay more in rooms as its place to be with the nature. Food was great. As this place is in very much remote area and surrounded by sahyadri mountains , u get great experience. This resort support local villagers by providing them employment at resort so for service kindly talk in local language or in hindi to get good experience. Small sai baba temple gives you spiritual experience also. We stayed at superior rooms in new building and it was great experience. Planning to book villas for my next group visit. Being a pure veg family... We got the good food.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Rainforest Resort and was blown away by the experience. The resort itself is situated in the middle of a beautiful forest, providing a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The service I received was outstanding - the staff were all incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. The food was also fantastic with a great variety of options. In addition to the great service and food, the resort itself was beautiful. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the grounds were well-maintained and peaceful. We enjoyed spending time in the forest, taking walks and exploring the surrounding area. One of the highlights of my stay was the in-house Ayurvedic massage centre. The therapists were incredibly skilled and knew how to help us relax and rejuvenate. I felt completely refreshed and revitalised. Overall, my stay at the Rainforest Resort was truly amazing. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway amid a beautiful natural setting.

Amazing view of waterfalls, well mannered staff. lil xpensive for the room n the whole thing they have. It’s a normal calm resort with fine food. The room which was provided was ok ok, we noticed some maintainance works to be done and there was no tv in the room for the price they charge. Throughout the day we had to sit in the room njoying the waterfall view.

The view of waterfall is excellent from the room and the swimming pool is also nice. There’s a lot of outer space and from everywhere the view of falls is really good. The room facilities are satisfactory only, there’s no TV and fridge and the furnitures are not that good.

5 stars for the ambience. You get to watch the falls closer. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We thought of dining here for lunch but we were told that the dine-in is available only for the in-house guests and not for the walk-in guests.

The location, the view , service and food were very nice. However the jacuzzi with the waterfall view which makes the room ‘premium’ was a complete let down. The water was smelly. The tub was cleaned but we didn’t really want to take a risk.
