This is one of the largest Bhagavathy temples in Kerala, located in the outskirts of the Vadakumnathan temple ground, Paramekkavu, Temple structure is beautifully build, Pooja will be performed early morning you can visit morning and seek blessings. The paramekavu temple is the most peaceful and divine diety in the heart of the Thrissur town..It faces towards the vadakkumnathan temple...The temple has got good divine feeling in the morning..In the evngs it would be little busy but still it's beautiful with lamps and light

This temple of Bhagavathi which is considered a sacred place with a dress code ( sari for women and Dhoti and upper garment for men). Men without a dhoti can go up to ,a certain place and get glimpse of the presiding deity. this is considered one of vthe very important and spiritual places of Thrissur which is the cultural capital of Kerala. It will be a treat to the eye and ears to watch 15 bedecked elephants standing to the tunes of "pancha vadyam " ( Traditional musical galore) inside the temple complex later move on to face 15 bedecked elephants of another temple in a nearby ground exchanging colorful Umbrellas during the annual Pooram Festival which comes in April -May every year Credit : TripAdvisor !

The great ancient temple of Thrissur, right next to Vadakkumnathan temple. The paramekkavu bhagavathi is the important delegate of the famous felicitation of Thrissur Pooram. Here the goddess shilpam is carved in wood, hence called Daru Shilpam

Paramekkavu is one of the largest Bhagavathy temples in Kerala, situated close to the famous Vadakkunnathan temple in Thrissur district. The main deity here is Devi Vaishnavy, an incarnation of Goddess Durga. It is one of the temples that participates in the Thrissur Pooram, an annual festival held in Vadakkunnathan temple. During the Pooram ceremony, a prominent attraction is the procession of fifteen caparisoned elephants from Paramekkavu to Vadakkunnathan temple.

Words are few and far fetched to express my feelings and experience at the temple. Ample parking space. Well organized. Neat and clean all the surrounding areas. Benevolence thy name. She has actually done something for me, which might seem that I am propagating. No. Visit yourself and experience the feeling. The staff are so Empathetic, it's amazing. They give you time to Darshan. But not too long. They are soft but firm in their communication. Unlike other temples this is phenomenal. God bless all.

"I recently visited Paramekkavu Bhagavathi Temple in Thrissur, and it was an amazing spiritual experience. The temple's beautiful architecture and serene atmosphere immediately put me at ease, and I felt a deep sense of peace and spirituality. The temple's main deity, Goddess Bhagavathi, was beautifully adorned and presented, and the temple priests were welcoming and knowledgeable. They guided me through the rituals and traditions of the temple, which enhanced my overall spiritual experience. The temple is known for its famous Thrissur Pooram festival, which is a unique and awe-inspiring experience that showcases the temple's cultural and spiritual significance. The festival is a must-visit for anyone who is in the area during that time of the year. The cleanliness and organization of the temple were highly commendable, and the staff's dedication to maintaining the temple premises' hygiene is highly appreciated. Overall, I highly recommend Paramekkavu Bhagavathi Temple to anyone seeking a spiritual and cultural experience in Thrissur. The temple's peaceful and serene atmosphere, combined with its stunning architecture and rich cultural history, make it a truly unique and fulfilling destination. I am grateful for the opportunity to visit this wonderful temple and will surely visit again."

This is Devi temple and located opposite Vadakkumnathan Temple and it's symbolises as Devi idol is looking at Lord Shiva. There are some restrictions in temple visit hours due to covid-19 crisis. So if planning to visit enquire the modified timings for visiting.
