Vadakkumnathan Temple, situated in Thrissur district of Kerala. One of my favourite temple I would love to visit anytime. It's a huge temple, mostly crowded but the ambience is breathtaking. There's a lot of space to walk and see around. For me, I've an emotional attachment to this temple, hence I would love to visit again. Also, another Devi Temple, Paramekkavu is right opposite to this temple. You can use the subway to reach Paramekkavu without intruding the heavy traffic on the road. There's a lot of things to understand about the temple history. I would highly recommend to go through the history of the temple before going so that one could accept and understand the archeological facts about it. I've visited here for the first time from my school and it was a great experience to learn new things along with friends. Thank you :))

Astounding experience. The entire temple complex has this feeling of tranquility and serenity always. Nice airy and widespread area which doubles up as parking as well as exercise ground and meet up place for locals. Neatly laid out and maintained well. Definitely must visit when in Thrissur.

Vadakkunnathan Shiva Temple Vadakkunnathan Temple is an ancient Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Shiva here is popularly known as Vadakkunnathan, meaning "lord of the north" as he is believed to live in Kailas which is on the northern side of India. The temple is located in Thrissur City in Thrissur District of Kerala State in Southern India. The name Thrissur is derived from its old name ‘Thiru-Shiva-Peroor’ which translates to ‘the city of sacred Shiva’.

This visit made me feel that Kerala is truly God's own country. What a beautiful temple! Serene, divine and full of bhakti. The temple has the most beautiful murals, though dull now, traditional temple architecture, sprawling outdoor area. The traditional sanctity is maintained. Never miss this temple if you are in Kerala.

Have Plenty of Parking 🅿️. Wadakkunathan Temple (Malayalam: വടക്കുന്നാഥൻ ക്ഷേത്രം) is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in city of Thrissur, Kerala State in India. The temple situated in the very centre of town on an eminence commanding a view of neighbouring areas all around. No historian or scholar has been able to ascertain the time when this temple came into existence. Our knowledge of the origin of this temple comes from legends. According to legends the original “Prathishta” was done by Lord Parasurama, an incarnation of Vishnu and it must have been done at least four thousand years ago.

Quiet a place that gives a very happy vibe and high positive energy. Lots of flora and fauna with chirps of birds. Large area for parking, but parking fee is high. Surroundings maintained very well...no recyclebins around the ground.

Vadakkunathan Temple is one the oldest temples in Kerala. God Shiva is the main deity here. Located in Thrissur main city. Thrissur Pooram festival will be conducted in this temple grounds in a grand manner, with lots of Elephants. Huge crow will be there watch the show (Lakhs of devotees).

One of my top most favourite temples in Trissur. Quiet and calm atmosphere with spiritual positivity. I hope the dewasawam board will arrange the restoration for the mural-art inside the temple, Most of the art is damaged due to climate conditions.

This siva named as Vadakunatha had been consecrated by Vishnu on his Parasuram Avatar this Temple currently run by Melsanthis(Chief priests) under devasomboard (government) are run very authentically in thanthrik style and they show full devotion and dedication towards Vadakunatha swami as the loka pitha and kepp the place clean and rigid with principles. A great place to worship and get the blessing from Vadakunatha swami (Mahadeva / Shivaji ).

You should pay 50RS before 5PM to park here, whether it is car or bike you should be charged. Basically its not parking ground, its just a space you can park anywhere. Nice vibe after 6 PM. You can sit here for hours. Will get nice breeze from Mg Road side 😊

The parking lot at Vadakkunnathan Temple in Thrissur, Kerala, serves as a convenient facility for visitors to park their vehicles while visiting the temple. Located in close proximity to the temple complex, the parking lot provides easy access to the main entrance. Since Vadakkunnathan Temple is a popular tourist and religious destination, the parking lot can get crowded during peak times and festivals. However, the efficient management of the parking lot ensures a smooth flow of vehicles, minimizing congestion and delays. Overall, the parking lot at Vadakkunnathan Temple provides a convenient and well-maintained facility for visitors. It allows devotees and tourists to park their vehicles securely while they explore and experience the spiritual ambiance of the temple.

An ancient large temple. Beautifully restored to its past glory. A miracle is that the ghee poured on the Shiva Lingam has solidified over ages and does not melt nor has an odour. It is likely the most beautiful Kerala style temple. Must visit. Tips: Expect large number of devotees on public holidays and Sunday Darshan depends on Pooja timings and May result in long waits. Better to visit during early hours.

Good parking space. There is no guide for parking and parking is to be at owners risk. There are a lot lottery sellers in the ground and you may be canvassed many times. Opposite to the parking area there is a area with lot of trees and shade so that you can have a talk and have rest.

Ideal place to park your vehicle with vast area. Huge area and any number of vehicles can be accommodated. There is security at gate and hence your vehicle is safe, parked. Being at heart of the city, very convenient to park and conduct business peacefully. Only drawback is charges are comparatively high.
