This is a review of Dr. Shobha Vijayan Pediatrician & Neonatologist, not of the hospital in general or other staff. Dr. Shobha Vijayan is one of the worst doctors I have come across. For a hospital that has some wonderful staff (e.g labour room nurses, ward nurses, NICU nurses, Dr Deepthy, Dr Neetha, Isabella, pathologists, radiologists etc. were all fabulous), Dr Shobha is a black mark. At my first appointment with Dr Shobha, I had a few questions about my 2 week old baby. As I asked her my questions, she did not respond in any way. I wasn't even sure she heard my questions. After my questions, she said- 'I heard all your questions but ignored them all because they were stupid, silly questions and does not require a response'. Obviously I thought my questions were important and I had paid money to see her to get answers to these questions. Her response made me feel like I wasted my time, money and effort in going to see her. However I decided to give her a second chance. During my 2nd appointment with her, she shamed me and made me feel like an inadequate mother for not producing enough breast milk and topping up with formula. The formula we are using to top up is the one she asked us to buy when our baby was in the NICU and they needed to top up my breastmilk supply while our baby was in the NICU. Not only that, she had the gall to tell me- 'I am no longer interested in your baby since you are not exclusively breastfeeding'. Again, I am paying her to be interested and help me with the questions I have about my baby. She wasn't doing me a favour. If you want to leave feeling ignored, and like an inadequate, failure of a mother go see her. She seems utterly lacking in sympathetic bedside manner and professionalism.

If u have an dislike button I will hit it 1000 times. My sisters delivery was there and the attitude of nurses was very bad and they not treated well. May be we called the nurses in night they come with an bad attitude also showing not interested to coming. Some nurses behave like an enemy and they not like to teach how to care new born baby. I hate this hospital and never ever I visit this hospital . Please not DR shobana was good

I’m not happy to give you any star rating, which is given to write the review actually. I had very bad experience from this hospital. I’m a nurse by the way. I was worked there for 6 months fixed term. The nursing superintendent Shiny , including all the nurse in-charges in different departments are very rude to me . They are harsh and disrespectful not even me , with my family as well. They are having very good experiences as they are older, but I don’t think they are nurses as because they don’t know how to care about others. Nursing is giving comprehensive & better care not only to the patients, but also others around them .I am harassed mentally every day from most of them including the HR department. I cried every day after my duty hours even when I came for the issue of the experience certificate. I didn’t hurt anybody in that hospital in anyway. If it is another country, I can go straight to the court as someone is mentally harassing me . The new nurses do mistakes because they are new in their profession and you are all , the senior nurses learned everything from mistakes. Consider the new ones like a human being . I’m thankful to each of the senior nurse incharges , superintendent and HR manager & team and I pray for you all for the gifts that you give to me.

*Pregnancy consultation/Delivery Experience* We had our first baby here and had a good experience with the hospital and Dr. Annie Paul. We had doubts regarding the facilities and the attitude of nurses that we may receive since we had just changed to SUN in the 9th month. But to our surprise the delivery was super smooth and most of the nurses took care of the mother and the child with a lot of patience and love. Doctor Annie is one of those doctors who you can trust during this extremely confusing and panicy phase. Each consultation gave us confidence and nothing else. She might come off as not so friendly with the first visit but I will guarantee you that she will grow on you. The canteen is clean and have a good variety of items with reasonable prices. There is also a coffee shop near the pharmacy and for anything else the hospital is placed at the heart of the city. Cons: I would have rated them 5 star if they had better rooms. A Rs. 3000/day room with AC is not at all up to the mark. The bathrooms and beds should definitely be better atleast for the rooms priced above 2K. Another issue, again with the infrastructure and convenience, is the scanning room. We opted to scan outside since the bed placement and experience was a little off.

It was my best choice to choose Dr Deepthy for my delivery! She made be so comfortable throughout the labour.The best, in respect of women, pregnancy, delivery and post delivery care. Excellent nurses and all staff. Very well maintained. Neat and clean. Thank you so much from the bottom of hearts for taking such good care of us during/after the pregnancy as well as the delivery!! Because of your professionalism and great smiles, we felt like we were in good hands and that gave us peace of mind towards the big day.

Post surgery care good Operation theatre good Surgeon. Excellent We obtained AC room. But had very bad experience. Very old room toilet was pathetic Room chair same as 1970’s model (over all zero mark for room)

Good Hospital and highly dedicated doctors, nice ambience, well supported staff. Dr. Shobana Mohandas (Gynaecologist )is a highly talented doctor. We approached her for my aunt due to big mass of tumour inside her uterus. It was a life threatening tumour, and required emergency surgery. It was doctor shobana mam's proper care and support helped us alot.Now she is perfectly alright. You are a gifted doctor, Thank you so much.

Zero Star for the Canteen at 1st floor. They served a Cofee in a dirty glass with dried curry like something inside the glass. Visitors please observe food and utensils prior to take food from here.

My delivery was done in there it was a c section with twins baby's everything was good. Nurses and their care and even doctors also their services very friendly and helpful. Only thing that I have to say is due to Corona canteen services not available in rooms it's very difficult for me other than everything is good

I had a misfortune of going to this formerly “heart hospital” and now “Sun Medical and Research centre” or whatever name you call it now. I went there for an annual check up(im expatriate) under the new management. I happen to see a movie recently about a hospital that does all the check up for nothing just use their expensive machinery rather than “real” diagnosis. It is about 4 years back and still had bad taste in my mouth and hence I thought of writing a review. I went there spend about 5000 rupees for a check up and all the process I went though felt like “money making” exercise. For the “new” owners, heart hospital used to be way better job than you guys. I hope you employ good “merit” doctors rather than “capitation” doctors. A bad experience is a bad experience will not be forgotten. Hence a one star and if I had an opportunity I will give negativ rating. I will NEVER come to your hospital. They are there to make money, of course! Reply to owners reply: Rather than sympathizing with the patient for a poor service, be little my 4 year experience “before” experience is not a good customer service. You should have focused what has “improved”over the years. Google review wasn’t a thing back in the days. A bad service is a bad service no matter how many years.

I really had a good experience at sun hospital , my father’s colectomy surgery was done by Dr.Savio Sebastian ,who is a gem of a person and took care of my father so well , visited us daily for a period of 2 weeks and provided insightful medical feedback , and the nurses at Sun where exceptionally good and gave the best care one could get . Thanks to Sun hospital and research center for the treatment.

It was my first pregnancy, coming back to Kerala by 30 th week. I consulted another doctor at a super speciality hospital near Karukutty. Little did I know what was about to come, I got suspicious when they asked me to take multiple scans, medications and other tests for no reason. They were admitting many pregnant ladies who all were exactly 37 weeks for silly reasons. I was completely shattered and confused when I came to know that it was all a business and no value was given to the patient. We immediately came to Sun Hospital. I felt at peace at the very first consultation and was blown away by her expertise and genuine care, her compassionate nature were evident throughout. She took the time to explain everything thoroughly, providing reassurance and support during moments of uncertainty. Dr.'s skill and professionalism during delivery were remarkable, ensuring my safety and comfort. I am forever grateful for her unwavering support and dedication. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Deepthi to any expectant mother seeking exceptional care. She made my journey to motherhood truly extraordinary.

I had the knee replacement surgery of my Mom done on the first week of July at Sun Hospitals. Right from admission till discharge it was a seamless process. The surgery was done by Dr Sujay Nathan one of the best Orthopaedic Surgeons of Kerala. Special mention to the PR in charge Brinda and the wonderful team of nurses who were always present with a heartfelt smile and service. The rooms and washrooms were properly disinfected and cleaned at least two times a day and the biggest support system was delivering medicines to your room as per needs. The greatest thing which I felt should be mentioned about hospital administration system was by standers don’t get to wait in queues much. And on a lighter note you get the best parippu vada of thrissur in their canteen 😀 Gratitude , Anoop Sankar Playback Singer

They made me wait 1 hr just to buy 2 medicines. Because they are not giving prescription, so you have to take token and wait in pharmacy for your number, no other option, it's just ridiculous time wasting, i understand it's a hospital but wasting somebody's precious time for just something silly. I am paying for the medicine so why don't you just give me the prescription so I don't have to wait another 1 hour for it. If you people continue to do like this people will get mad.. otherwise increase the speed in pahrmacy. Really disappointing experience.

From parking until the end of my consultation had peaceful easy hours. Friendly cooperative staffs. Doctor was friendly, listening and encouraging.

Waste Hospital i feel like Government medical College. Room are very old rent starting 2000. I shift my wife to Daya Hospital. Daya Hospital Rooms ward ₹400 room ₹600

I delivered my first baby at SUN. It was a very warm and happy experience! A special thanks to Dr. Deepthy, Dr. Aleena, Dr. Shakeel, Dr. Shameem, Anita sister, Isabella, Anupama, Scanning staff, Labour Room nurses, NICU staff, duty nurses at the nurse station. Will definitely recommend this hospital to other expectant mothers :)

Receptionist are not giving proper information ( after discharge we are not getting appointment for doctor at same time, telling to book before you come. So we got last number ) When we called the receipt is ask why don't you book when you get the summary, what to do ....

Have been doing my pregnancy checkups at Sun Hospital for the past month now, with Dr. Deepthy. The staff at the hospital is very professional and helpful. Always felt comfortable whenever I have come for my checkups. The Administrative staff are also quick and responsive. Have not had to wait for more than 5 min to complete billing or any formalities. The infrastructure may be a little lacking considering the age of the hospital building but the expertise of the Doctors and staff more than compensates for this. Would positively recommend Sun Hospital to everyone with any specific medical needs.

Doctor consulting was good. But extremely bad pharmacy. No other option to get medicine from outside. You have to wait atleast two hours to get medicine. Worst worst worst pharmacy

My delivery was under Dr. Deepthy ma'am. She is very dedicated person and listen to patients' concerns. Also labour room nursing staff and NICU staff take care patients very well.

They have good doctors and staffs.. all are very cooperative. Very dedicated staffs. In gynecology department the service of Deepthi doctor is very much appreciated 👍👍... The hospital lacks a good building and neatness that is the only problem.

They have a worst booking system. they don't know the booking time . if we will collect the medicine from their pharmacy it will take 30 min. if u don't wnat the medicines from their pharmacy then they will take 45 mins to provide the prescription.Totally disappointed. I made a complaint to the PRO but she didn't care

I visited this hospital with my older brother Mr. Hydru for a MRI scan on 18/12/2021. We happy with counter staff and nurses. Our appointment time was 1 30 pm, but name called around 2 30 pm because previous patient have some problems. Any way we happy and thanks

We reached Sun Medical And Research Centre for the treatment of our close relative,who is a youngster.He had some problems with his vision. It's when we consulted the Eye Specialist ,we got to know that the problem was not with eyes.He instructed us to consult expert doctors in other departments. Something we experienced at 'SUN' is that doctors in various departments discuss certain issues within themselves.It is very effective for precise diagnosis and treatment.It gives great confidence to patients.One other thing we experienced there is the attitude of administrative department.They are very careful in helping people with official procedures.

Myself and my mother in law had a great experience from Sun Hospital. Doctors, Nurses, supporting staffs and managerial staffs are so kind and helping personalities. Mr. Antony, manager of the hospital is very supportive and friendly.

Had positive experiences when my mom was admitted couple of times for angioplasty. The nurses are caring and the doctors are great and experienced. Nothing specific to complain unless I’m nitpicking.

My wife and I had been infected with Covid 19 and were admitted here. The doctors, nurses and all other staff were very cordial and helpful in spite of the difficult times. Both of us recovered quickly enough and the review sessions were also nicely streamlined. Thank you.
